Will the FALCONS have to pay Vicks salary if he pleads guilty to federal dog fighting charges?

I know his $15 million counts in the salary cap, but do the Falcons have to pay him if he pleads guilty to a felony? It seems that would void his contract and they could get rid of him and not have to over pay him any longer.
Answer: I believe part of the collective bargaining allows a team to void a contract for moral clause reasons including arrest and conviction. The players union can and will fight it but I think would eventually lose or at best get a compromise buyout.

Who else is not that shocked that the FALCONS beat the Saints yesterday?

I read a link that said "Falcons shock Saints 27-24 in overtime" I didnt find it all that much of a shock to be honest. Inter-divisional games are always difficult ones with the familiarity and all plus I dont think the Saints have looked that good so far. I think they are a fairly good team and will get better as the year goes on but they havent been dominant so I dont understand why its such a shock. I actually picked the Falcons to beat them.
Answer: It is hard to be shocked when it comes to the NFL. Teams in many ways have caught up with one another. That gap between teams is closing. I was surprised that the Saints did not score more points. I though the overall score would have been higher. The Falcons are a good team. They could be 3-0 right now if things had gone different in Pittsburgh. They are a playoff team and I believe that you will see these 2 teams again in the playoffs.

I think that the Falcons may have a chance, because the first thing is the new coaching. Some changes have been that Michael Vick can now call plays, and also that Joe Horn has been added to the team. Joe Horn and Michael Vick should work well together, because I have heard that they were friends before hand. Also if they can pick up another good wide receiver in the draft and a good safety (since after trading schaub they have two first round picks) then it would be pretty helpful to the team as well. What everyone said was true but then anup1992 had a point how is Rex Grossman a superbowl qb but mike vick isnt? I think that Rex Grossman is far more in-consistent than Mike Vick
Answer: I do believe that Vick is a Superbowl Quarterback. It's not that Vick is a terrible passer, it's that he never had a capable set of recievers. Horn will manage to help, but not to the point where he'll totally pull them out. If you remember back to the Pittsburgh game he went to town on my beloved Steelers. When things click, he's dangerous. However, they lack a good back-up quarterback. Their defense could use some help also. I don't think they'll take down the Saints for the divison, but I think they'll make a wild card. Superbowl next season? No. A couple of good free agent signing and a good couple of decent picks in the draft and within 3 years I say they'll be back in the big game.

Answer: Not well. Drama around a team always seems to wreak havoc on their abilities. Look what happened to the Raiders in the Super Bowl when Barrett Robbins went MIA. They imploded. So will the Falcons, IMO.

What do you think of the Los Angeles FALCONS?

You heard it here first, the Falcons will, within 5 years move to L.A. Look at it like this, Atlanta is a horrible sports town, they dont even support winners, (as proven by the braves). The only reason the Falcons drew well since 2001 is because of Michael Vick and now they dont have that drawing card anymore. They will be a bad team in a bad sports town, with no player in which the community can become enamored in. The NFL has been looking to move a team to LA since the Rams and Raiders left, and for a while it looked like it would be the saints, but due to the hard ships the city of new orleans has suffered, and the recent success of that franchise to go allong with Reggie Bush and Drew Brees, their future looks rock solid in the city of New Orleans. Basically who agrees with me that the Atlanta Falcons will become the LA Falcons within 5 years?
Answer: O.K. I have to defend my beloved city of Atlanta. First of all, why would Arthur Blank who started Home Depot in Atlanta, opened the worlds largest aquarium in Atlanta, invest in the city of Atlanta, move his team, the Atlanta Falcons away? What ties do Blank have to LA? Secondly, Georgians love their sports team. The city of Atlanta, a city that many call the capital of the south, draws a ton of transplants from other cities to Atlanta for jobs and the weather. Many of these transplants remain loyal to the city's team that they came from (ie. New Yorkers who move to Atlanta still love the Giants).. So to the outsider, it appears that Atlanta do not love their sports teams. But native Atlanta, Georgians, and SouthEasterners love the Atlanta teams.. A ton of Georgians and people from the SouthEast travel many miles to see the Braves play. So to say Atlanta is not a sports town is absolutely ridiculous!! Like any other city, attendance goes up when the team wins. Once the Falcons and Hawks start winning, which they will in a few years, attendance will sky rocket. The Falcons aren't going anywhere. Arthur Blank, being the business genius that he is, will make the team a winner here in Atlanta!!!

What is the Atlanta FALCONS offensive and defensive scheme?

I never see or hear about the Falcons so what kind of game do they play?
Answer: We've got a pretty standard defense. We run a 4-3 base defensive scheme and usually use our DE's to bring the pressure. Last year the defense was a little porous, mainly in the secondary, but the managers are bringing in some big time talent in so they should really step it up. Regarding the offense, it really seems to be evolving with Matt Ryan. As he progresses in ability, you see more formations being introduced and us going more to the pass. We still tend to be a run-first team though, especially Ryan's rookie year. Last year we were forced to pass a little bit more because of all of the injuries to RB's and linemen. I think that the offense if really gonna be on fire if everyone can stay healthy this season. If Turner and Norwood don't get injured things are really gonna start opening up in the passing game allowing Ryan and White to put up some insane numbers.

What is it about the FALCONS that keeps people guessing?

Ive heard people say certain teams are still better than them.. Even teams theyve beaten. Im really befuddled.. Teams have lost all season to inferior teams (Browns beating Pats, Cardinals beating Saints) but the Falcons have not. Their only losses remain in Pennsylvania. People say after the Browns beat the Pats, NE woke up. But never do they say that about the Falcons after the Eagles lost. They havent lost since and still cant even make Sportscenter.
Answer: because they have never been high profile, but yes people are idiots. every single week people change their nfc championship game from eagles Falcons to bears Falcons to packers Falcons to giants Falcons and over and over they change one team but its always the Falcons... the ridiculous thing is they always pick the other team to go on to the superbowl... meanwhile the Falcons keep on winning.... when we win the superbowl this year we will get all the bandwagon fans will hop on and we can get all the retarded football fans... the Falcons have without question the best or second best offense in the league... the defense isnt great yards wise but forces many turnovers, and comes together in the red zone... matt ryan and the recieving core is unstoppable in the 4th when it counts, and they are all together unstoppable at home... maybe once we beat the saints(AGAIN) we will get some more credibility, or people will just claim that the saints are slumping after dropping two in a row... but even if they do pull off a win, we are still set with home field. how people dont see this i do not no, but they will soon
