Hi i just wanted to know if eating chicken on Good friday was bad?? You see i dont like fish and for years i though that it was ok to eat Chicken on this Day (I though it was a white meat day eg: chicken, fish) but i have since found out that that is wrong please help me.What is ok?
Answer: I'm sorry dear, you are not supposed to eat chicken on Good friday. It is a day of fast and abstinance.
F&A= one main meal (it's okay to snack lightly), no meat (only fish).

Answer: 1) they took into account for Alaskas fault systems and in areas buried the pipeline and in others up on specially designed 'rockers' for the pipeline to rest on. These rockers move and adjust to any quake (they were tested to withstand atleast 8.0 mag. quakes) and absorb the energy to be redirected.
2) the pipeline was designed with special 'cutoff points'. these are the various pumping and tracking stations along the route. So if a section of line is damaged by a quake or other means it can be shutdown, then repaired. previously pipelines with out this had to be replaced or completely shutdown.
the bad thing was that they hired out of state workers from Oklahoma and Texas who had not clue one about Alaskan conditions. lol. Thank god they left

Answer: I'm not going to suggest to you key verses; you should, as a group, choose them together---at least it is a thought. So, I will just give you food for thought that you can bring to your group to help you develop your session around the theme of Good friday.
In pious retrospect, it is possibly called "Good friday" because for all that tragically took place, it brought about the greatest good there could be.
Good friday is commemorated not only to remember that the Big G gave us his only son and that the son lives through those that believe, but I think that it is there to remind us that when we experience the greatest of life's tragedies, we are reminded that there is hope; a new beggining. Easter is centered around Spring, the time of renewal!:-)

What do people do on Good friday in Europe? Here in the USA, we dont do anything. We have Easter dinner with our parents one day of the weekend, but thats it. What is the big deal about it? What EXACTLY do people do on Good friday? I want detailed answers. From dusk to dawn.
Answer: the catholics say you should only have two small meals and one medium-sized meal, and of course no meat
you aren't supposed to really leave your house and do business as usual. it's a time to sit around all day and pray and reflect on jesus' sacrifice for all the earth
most Good friday services are at three o'clock, the supposed time of his death, and some other churches also have a stations of the cross (where you basicaly walk around in a really big circle meditating on jesus' walk to golgatha, where he died)

Answer: Buy some blackened fish seasoning from your local super market or if you cant find it

2 1/2 ts Salt
1 ts Onion powder
1 ts Garlic powder
1 ts Cayenne pepper
3/4 ts White pepper
3/4 ts Black pepper
1/2 ts Thyme
1/2 ts Oregano
1/4 ts Sage
Just fry in a hot pan or iron skillet and add butter and spices and cook according to how thick your fish is. Blackened fish is big in the south...its full of big flavor far from bland

I always seem to cook the same old fish dish, e.g. Pan fried salmon or trout for Good friday dinner. Can someone recommend something different please?

Answer: Preparation time: 10 minutes
Marinating time: 24 hours
Cooking time: 15 minutes
3 pound (1450g) of filleted fish
4 tablespoons of lime or lemon juice
1 teaspoon of salt
Marinade
9 fl oz (265ml) of yoghurt
3 tablespoons of mustard oil
6 cloves of garlic, crushed
1.5 teaspoons of salt
2.5 teaspoons of paprika
2.5 teaspoons of ground coriander
2.5 teaspoons of ground cumin
1.5 teaspoons of ground ginger
0.5 teaspoons of food coloring powder (red, orange or yellow)
1. Lightly slash the fillets with the sharp point of a knife. Place in a shallow dish pour on the lemon or lime juice, and salt. Leave for about 15 minutes.
2. Cook over medium hot coals for about 10 to 15 minutes. Skin side down.
4. Serve on a bed of lettuce and onion rings with a wedge of lemon. Accompanied with naan bread and tandoori chutney.

Answer: On Good friday we venerate the cross, which means we go up and kiss it, or touch it.
There is distribution of communion but no consecration. In other words the Host that has been reserved is distributed, but no new consecration is done. This is the only day in the Church year in which Mass is not celebrated.

Ive checked the Met Office website without luck. Id like to find out as I think my neighbour pushed a fence panel over and told me it was in the gale - though I dont think the wind was strong enough on Good friday. Answer: It depends if it makes you feel uncomfortable. If you feel in your heart, this is not the way you should spend Good friday, bow out, take a rain check. Listen to your 'inner man,' or spirit. We must remember as Christians, moderation is the key. Playing poker and having a drink or two, all the while keeping ones senses, is not the unforgivable sin. Use your common sense and good judgment. We must live in this world, but we don't have to be 'of' this world. I'm sure there are many churches/congregations that would dearly love to sit in judgment of this situation. You must live with the decisions you make in life. If you go, keep your partying in check, your wits about you, in order to maintain your credibility as a Christian. If you feel you cannot go and maintain it, I would bow out, due to the fact as a Christian, we are to set an example. No drunken stupors. You can always be the 'designated' driver when it is time to refuse any further 'social' drinks. Gambling becomes a problem when it takes away from you supporting your family, paying bills and having food on the table or when you cannot stop. If you have a few dollars put aside for specifically for entertainment, there is no harm, (if married, and both spouses agree.) I would hope you are 'partying' with friends that would not corrupt you, that you are strong enough in your faith to know where to draw the line. As Christians we should be able to handle any situation, but we must also know in our heart the right thing to do. Relax, have a nice time, while maintaining your self respect, should you decide to go.
