Answer: NOOOOOO! Soto is the best catcher this year in the best offensive team...(sorry russel martin) and Cain is still getting better. Harang is good but not worth losing the other two players.

Answer: Sorry, but the Giants aren't going to give up Cain for a "few scrap minor leaguers and Shelly Duncan". This trade has to be beneficial for both teams. The benefit for the Yankees is obvious, but for the Giants, they will require a ML ready pitcher, ie. Hughes, Acevas, Joba. But that won't be enough, as you say, they need some hitting. That would mean someone like Gardner, Melky, Cano. With those in the package, then they will require a couple minor league prospects, such as Ajax, Pena, or Montero.
This deal goes for Halladay as well. Let's not give up the farm for one pitcher. I believe we have the answers from within...

what are your thoughts about MATT CAIN tipping his cap to the Met crowd as he was being booed off the field?
Do you feel he was right or wrong for what he did?
Answer: I didn't see it, I heard he said he was adjusting his hat. Could be a quick excuse offered. If he did do it because of the booing, it was the wrong thing to do. Afterall, he showed great concern after hitting Wright who went to the hospital. I don't think people who are being rational really believe a guy like Cain would throw a 93 mph fast ball at a man's head on purpose. But if it was just a hat tip out of retaliation to the fans it just wasn't wise.

Two more weeks till opening day and the Giants have not closed a deal with Cainer. Assuming (and I hope Im wrong) the Giants let him walk and dont lock him up what other teams do you think will be bidding on him? What team do you think he will go to?
Giants fan: Would you rather see him walk away or stay?
Answer: I like Matt cain a lot, and if I were the Giant I would like to see him stay. If he were going to leave, my gut tells me he'll go to the NL East, either the Mets or the Marlins. I can see New York overpaying for him to 'replace' Santana and to change the culture of the team, but that depends on whether the Wilpons are going to be gutted by the whole Madolff thing. The Marlins I see are trying to get better by opening the paycheck, and I think a young fireballer like Cain is the right complement for someone like Buehrle.

Why isnt MATT CAIN starting for the Giants in Game 1 of the WS?
I understand about wanting to have your best pitcher on the mound in the opening game, but Lincecum just pitched yesterday (albeit a third of an inning) on just two days rest. Cain, on the other hand, is better rested than Lincecum and made his last start on Tuesday. So, once again, I ask why isnt Cain the Game 1 starter for the Giants?
Answer: Lincecum pitched a bit yesterday, but not that much. The amount he pitched was probably not too much more than the normal between start bullpen session that every starter pitches.
He'll have 3 more days of rest by the time Game 1 rolls around, so he should be 100% rested. I'm sure that Bruce Bochy will stick with the rotation that they used in the NLCS. Cain will pitch Game 3, which would also put him in line for Game 7 if there is one.

The guy is on a horrible offensive team whos offense is almost dead last in all offensive categories yet he has a record 9-1, era 2.39. He is one of the most underrated pitchers and is overshadowed by Randy Johnson, Barry Zito, and Tim Lincecum. He has had a great year but nobody talks about him.

Will Matt cain make it? He leads the Giants in ERA, shutouts and complete games.
Answer: It's possible, but with so many great pitchers in the NL it's going to be hard for him to make it. I only say that because of his 5-4 record(should be a whole lot better, but he never gets any run support). In every other category Cain has been lights out.
Cain will have to earn himself a few more wins before the selections are made. He's definitely capable of giving great starts, consistently, provided the offense shows up the days he starts.

All credit to the San Francisco Giants for signing pitcher Matt cain to a five-year contract extension. This is a momentous signing for the team and for the franchise. Let’s take them one at a time. The team. Cain is a very good pitcher.

It was obvious that Cain did not do it on purpose, everybody saw Cains sympathetic look, it was obvious.
The pitch slipped, Cain is a class act, same with Wright, there was not reason to hit him on purpose.

Answer: Unfortantley people think that, it wasn't intentional. It was an accident.
I feel sorry for Cain and Wright. Cain for getting bashed by naive people. Wright for getting hit in the head.

Answer: Lincecum is clearly the better choice. Cain is good, but he does not have that electric arm nor the command that Lincecum has. He also has nasty pitches which makes hitters look bad. RR
