Answer: Honestly. Both have been disappointment's this season to me. Dempsters solid 08 numbers had everyone thinking he'd be top notch yet Ted Lilly has stolin the show in Chicago. And Jimenez's performance in the WBC put him as a fantasy steal in late rounds. But both have failed on paper. I'd say Dempster is the better of the 2 though. He has proven him self and he has a stronger offense.

Answer: Actually I think he might. Those are great pitching numbers for a pitcher who plays in a Hitter's Ballpark. But Roy Halladay can too. He won 21 games for the Phillies and helped lead the Phils to the playoffs. Josh Johnson of the Marlins was the Front Runner but he was injured in the second half of the year. Adam Wainwright of the Cardinals might also. He won 20 games or 21 but he won't because the Cardinals did not make the playoffs this year.

What did UBALDO JIMENEZ do to become so much better?

Last year, he was a regular ace pitching 3.47 ERA. Not bad. Bt 0.78 ERA in 11 starts? How?
Answer: I think command of the strike zone are the key words here, in 2008 he had 103 walks in 198 innings. Last year he improve 218 innings but just 85 walks, now this season he on pace to pitch over 230 innings 75-85 batters thats pretty good if you pitch over 230 innings. That's what has kept him successful the ability to hit the strike zone. We always knew he had good stuff he just always been wild.

are UBALDO JIMENEZ and franklin morales on the rockies better than aaron cook and jeff francis?

i added ubaldo and franklin on my team.. im not a big fan of cook.. hes too unpredictable so i left him in free agency. and jeff francis well someone has him but i dont care after he got shelled. im just wondering what the odds are that franklin and ubaldo will do better than their teammates
Answer: Ubaldo has the best stuff on the staff, but has major control problems. He is probably the only pitcher on the staff with ace stuff. Francis is the best pitcher on the staff due to his deception and ability to hit spots. He also pitches to situation very well. He does have the tendency to give up the big inning every now and then because he doesn't have an out pitch that misses bats. Cook, when on, is Brandon Webb like. But when he over pitches his sinker becomes flat and he leaves it up in the zone. Morales throws hard and is a tough left hander. He is rattled under presser and only has a plus fastball. As he becomes better at pitching to situations and develops his offspeed stuff, he will be a front of the rotation guy.

I was offered Ubaldo jimenez for Brandon Beachy. I dont know much about Beachy and his stuff. I know that Ubaldo had been struggling with his velocity and command this year. Should I jump all over this trade or not? Head to Head 10 team mixed league.
Answer: I like the deal. Ubaldo has been pitching much better lately, and Beachy is solid but still young. And he's no lock, even with him numbers, to be in the rotation all year because the Braves have future aces in the minors waiting for a September callup. There's obviously some risk involved, but you know Ubaldo is going to start every fifth day for the rest of the year and give you solid strikeouts, and you don't know that with Beachy right now.

I am getting Ubaldo. Just figured that Ogando was going to reach some sort of pitch limit later in the season.
Answer: Sure is, and for the exact reason you mentioned. Ogando has been back and forth as a reliever and starter in the minors, and if Texas wants to think about another World Series bid they need to conserve him later in the year for the playoffs. And that doesn't mention the possibility for Ogando's stats to decline once he reaches his career-high for innings. Ubaldo hasn't been as good this year as he was last year, but he will still give you more innings than Ogando over the second half. If he gets it turned around, even a bit, I'd argue he will have a better second half statistically than Ogando.

He Is pitching like crap at home and like and ace on the road, he clearly needs change of scenery. Plus with Jorge de la rosas injury we dont know how competitive they are going to be.

The Sox would have to pay a hefty price, but their manager, Kenny Williams is known to make big trades at the Trade Deadline... Jimenez would make the pitching rotation VERY strong that it could match up with anyone... Besides, Buehrle will proabbly retire after this season to be with family, so why not bring in an asset at the ttrade deadline.
Answer: The White Sox are trade deadline sellers. They already traded away Edwin Jackson. I doubt they would get rid of one of their better players and then try to add someone else in a completely different deal.

i think tonight was his thrid start of 120 pitches or more. its only may do you think they should hold him to 100 until the races mean something.
Answer: He's the only quality arm in the Rockies pitching staff at the moment. Until the Rockies get their bullpen together and Huston Street comes back, Jimenez will be stretched out in starts just so the bullpen doesn't come out.
