Answer: Definite upgrade at WR with this pick and (based upon prior years) little downgrade, if anything at RB. So at it's face I say go for it. BUT, I am really not convinced of LJ this year. I'm concerned about the hold out and the complete lack of offense the team has. It is a very risky trade that will make or break your season. If you team is mediocre....make the trade and go for it. If you have a top team coming out of the draft, I'd go the safe route. For me, I would do the trade.

Braylon edwards is a very skilled reciever, as you all. But my question is, why is he dissapointing, is it him, the quaterbacks, the coaching? He was dominant in college, and ive senn great flashes of him the past 2 season. Bu his temper and frustration have been a problem of late. I believe if he were on another team, possibly any other team, he may be doing better, any thoughts?
Answer: My thoughts are that the Browns are cursed. They draft stand-out players when it comes to positions like QB, WR, and TE, but they somehow don't realize that those players don't make up the core of your team. They need to focus on the Offensive and Defensive lines before worrying about their quarterbacks and receivers. A better o-line gives your quarterback more time to make a decision, without worrying about getting the crap hit out of him. Maybe THEN he (whoever HE may be next year) can connect with Edwards to make important plays.

I'm a Jets fan, but I'd be the first to tell you that the first answer is 100% on the money with the first part of his answer, the rest is just him being a dick. It's not my fault my family didn't tell me how bad of an idea it was to start rooting for the Jets, but that's what being a sport fan is about. The Jets don't need anybody to tell them how to lose, it's in their blood. You can't tell me that Joe Namath didn't sell his soul to Satan for that ring. But even besides that, the Jets offense has been putting up points, even though a lot of that is because of the running game. The funny thing is the Jets defense has actually been very good, but their offense and special teams take turns losing games.

Answer: I would not trust either Edwards or Holmes to put up solid numbers as the Jets are a run first team. With the recent success of Tomlison I do not expect the Jets to air it out to often. However, if you were to make a trade it should be for Holmes as he has more of an upside than Edwards. Even though they are a run first team both receivers will put up better numbers than Moss is in Washington. While it is not the best trade it should be made even though it will only make a slight improvement. If this is the only offer you can make or receive than go with Holmes but before that see if you can find a better option.

Cleveland is a mess and I wouldn't really rely on Edwards for week to week production (if by upside you mean 10/120/2 one week and 1/8/0 the next). Selling McNabb for a solid RB might be the better option, but get someone more consistent than Edwards if you really want a WR. LOL shirokum <3 it

Who should i start this week, BRAYLON EDWARDS or Roy Williams?

I need to pick between Braylon edwards or Roy Williams this week for my third WR Slot. Braylon edwards had a break out week last week but going against a tough Was. Roy Williams just got traded to Dallas and Tony Romo might play, what do you think will be my best bet and why? It is a PPR league and 10 yards p/p.
Answer: Definitely Braylon. Although Roy Williams is a talented reciever, you cannot expect him to sync with the new offense immediately. The Cowboys also already have a talented recieving core with TO, Witten, and Crayton, so Williams won't be a primary option. Also, Romo is not expected to start and it is doubtful that the Cowboys will pass a lot with Brad Johnson. Braylon, however, is the #1 option in the Browns offense and had a huge week last week. Derek Anderson looked like a modern-day Johnny Unitas and the offense seemed to be meshing perfectly. Expect more big numbers from Braylon and a subpar performance from a reciever (R. Williams) who has never exceeded expectations. I project Braylon to have between 6-10 rec for 100+ yds and a TD and Williams to have around 4-7 rec for about 60 yds. Hope this helps!

Giving the success of BRAYLON EDWARDS, is it safe to say that Troy Williamson and Mark Clayton are bust?

Williamson, Vikings, has had little to no success in the NFL and Clayton, Ravens, has had a little success but he failed to even catch a TD pass this past season. Seeing as though Braylon edwards has blossomed and all three were taken in the same draft class is it safe to say that Williamson and Clayton are officially bust?
Answer: It's tough to call WR's busts, they cannot create their success on their own as opposed to a defensive end or linebacker. Of the two possible busts, I'd say Williamson is the definate pick. He actually didn't put up amazing numbers coming out of South Carolina (835 yards, 7 TDs on 43 recs); NFL scouts or maybe just Minnesota's scouts put TOO much value on his elite speed and vertical jump. Mark Clayton, on the other hand, I'm 50-50 on. One can say he had All-American numbers at Oklahoma because he played with Heisman winner Jason White (who was protected by a great O-line that included Jamaal Brown....just saying success in one area breeds another) and played on a team with great depth. Now, he comes to the pros and his deficiencies are exposed. Clayton isn't that fast either, he was a good route runner, good hands, decent strength but not the deep threat that Baltimore has been craving. But one could also say, "hey, the Ravens haven't had a QB since Trent Dilfer and even he wasn't THAT great. Brian Billick never installed a good offense and the O-line sans Ogden sucks, so what receiver can flourish?". I would go along with the system argument. No one said possession receivers can't flourish in the NFL; Plaxico Burress isn't a speed guy, he's a PHYSICAL wr who can push DBs around and get open. If Clayton had been paired with say, a Santana Moss or a Steve Smith, we wouldn't be having this discussion. Browns got a 2nd or a 3rd round pick for BRAYLON EDWARDS. What determines the 2nd or 3ed round?

Does anyone know the criteria for the 2nd or a 3rd round pick that the Browns will get for Braylon edwards. Are there any numbers that Braylon has to put up to determine that and if so does anyone know those numbers?
Answer: I don't know the details. But it is most likely one of two things: - Edwards performance (plays x number of games, x number of catches, TD's etc.) - NY Jets performance (i.e. if they make the playoffs it's a 2nd rounder, if they don't it's a 3rd, or some kind of protection that the pick won't be higher than a particuliar slot like #50 overall).
