Last week, a judge imposed a death sentence on drug addict Steven Hayes, 47, one of two men accused of killing a Connecticut doctors wife and two daughters in an unbelievably horrific 2007 home invasion. Dr. William Petits wife, Jennifer, 47, was raped and strangled to death. Petits daughters, 11-year-old Michaela and 17-year-old Hayley, died of smoke inhalation after the perpetrators tied them to their beds, doused them with gasoline and set the house on fire. Hayes accomplice, Joshua komisarjevsky, 30, is charged with sexually assaulting Michaela. In his first TV interview airing Thursday, Petit told Oprah Winfrey that its impossible to forgive the men who killed his family. "I dont think you can forgive ultimate evil," he said. "You can forgive somebody who stole your car. You can forgive somebody who slapped you in the face. You can forgive somebody who insulted you. You can forgive somebody who caused an accident. I think forgiving the essence of evil is not appropriate." Authorities said the two men broke into the house, beat and forced Jennifer to withdraw money from a bank while the rest of her family remained as hostages in their home. Petit was the only member of the family to survive. We can only hope that Petit finds the courage and strength to go on with his life somehow -- he told Oprah he hadnt committed suicide because he wanted to see his girls in heaven. We hope he does and that there is a small ounce of comfort in justice being served. I would forgive the man for killing my family. Because im a Christian and I been told Christians are suppose to forgive people no matter what they did. So would you forgive the man killed your Husband and your kids? Or Wife and kids? Why or Why Not?

Introduction The family of Dr. William Petit of Chesire, Connecticut and husband to his wife named Jennifer Hawke-Petit, and father to two beautiful daughters, Haley and Michaela Petit where hostages in their own home on July 23, 2007. Two men, Steven Hayes and Joshua komisarjevsky broke into the Petit home and tormented the family for seven hours before it all ended. Throughout those seven hours the mother was forced to go to their local bank and withdraw money while the rest o her family was held hostage at home. While she was out getting the money for the men, the father was very badly beaten with a baseball bat but managed to escape to a neighbors house, leaving his two daughters with the men. After Jennifer Petit came back the men were upset because she tried to get help while she was gone, so she was then raped and strangled to death. Authorities said, Joshua Komisarjevesky then sexually assaulted the youngest, 11-year-old Michaela... Okay there is more I talk about drugs and how it makes people crazy and troubled.
