Answer: Hanley Ramirez is the better all around player between the two. Reyes gets more stolen bases than Ramirez...but that's about it.
Ramirez's HR totals, RBI totals, and Batting Average are all better than Reyes. Reyes is good, and most definitely the second best shortstop in the Majors...but Hanley is fore sure the best.

If the Mets decide to trade JOSE REYES, what kind of offers would they get?
If the Mets decide to trade Jose reyes, given his injuries and talent, who would you expect to see them getting offers from?
Answer: Even if he has no major health concerns between now and July, I don't think the Mets will get more than a few prospects for him.
First, he will be a free agent and Scott Boras is his agent...that means he'll be asking for a ton of money and a long-term deal regardless of his health. That will scare off any teams who might otherwise like to lock him up to an extension.
Second, any team that wants him will likely see him as the missing piece to a long playoff run...Those teams aren't going to trade quality major leaguers because they'll be needed for the playoffs as well.
At best, you might see a team with money (like the Angels) trade for him and then try to sign him to an extension. But again, since he's in his "walk" year, they're not going to offer much more than one good prospect and a couple guys as filler.

he used to make baseball fun to watch...
Answer: He never really had a "bad attitude" per se. Reyes has already stated he's going to approach this season differently. He will be a little more focused and I don't really think he's going to have anymore "hustle" problems. He said he'll keep the off-the field antics exactly where they belong, off the field. Also don't expect his steal totals to go up, in fact they could go down to a more economical 60 or so, not to mention he's going to be getting days off periodically, expect about 155 games played this year. The Mets are concerned he wore himself out in September and that was the reason for his decline. I guess when you steal 80 bases, hit 10 triples, 30 doubles, 10 homers and score 120 runs and play in 160 games it's pretty tiring.

Answer: No good at all I am a mets fan it would not be awesome. Reyes is built for citi field. Saw a conversation with Jose reyes on Sny last night. Says he wants to stay in New York. Would it be a good idea this offseason for the Phillies to let Rollins go and sign JOSE REYES?
Both Rollins and Reyes will be free agents this fall (barring any extensions or whatnot). Rollins will be 33, while Jose reyes will be 29. Reyes has also been (somewhat) better overall than Rollins was the past three years.
Would it be a good idea to go younger? Or will ditching a career Philly who won the WS and MVP there in order to sign a Met be a bad idea?
Answer: I don't see why people still think Rollins is so great. Yeah, he had the monster season like 5 years ago and ever since then, people think he is part of the elite. I think he is just overrated even though he is good. It would be a great idea for the Philles to sign Reyes and let Rollins go. You get a younger guy and one that isn't as inconsistent as Rollins.
However, I hope they don't. LOLL.

Mets Cutting Ticket Prices Once Again
In the wake of another sizable drop in attendance, the Mets have announced that they were again cutting ticket prices. The Mets attendance fell 7 percent in 2011, their second annual decline since moving to Citi Field, as the team logged its third consecutive fourth-place finish. Alex F. when did you hear this? I saw on MLB TV just yesterday that Jerry Manual was debating putting Reyes at 3d.
Answer: The Mets have already said that Reyes will bat 1st this year. But to answer your question, batting Reyes 3rd isn't really that bad of an idea. I believe he would lose some production value but two other players would gain from him batting there. First off, I feel that if Reyes bats 3rd he would feel like he has to hit more homeruns and will therefore start swinging for the fences more often. This would cause a drop in his avg. because he would probably strike out more, a decrease in stolen bases, and a small increase in his power numbers (20-25).
The first person who might benifit from Reyes batting 3rd would be Luis Castillo. Batting 8th for him lower's his confidence because he knows that the Mets think hes the worst hitter in that starting lineup (maybe Schneider). Having him bat 1st would boost up his self-esteem and hopefully he could have a better season with more hits and his avg. would increase. I'm not saying he would steal more bases, this would solely just help him raise his avg.
The second person to benifit would be David Wright who I believe would be batting 4th, right behind Reyes. Since Reyes gets many hits (usually singles) he would still be a big monster to steal bases. Knowing this, pitchers usually pitch to the person batting many fastballs so the catcher has a better chance of throwing out Reyes. Since David Wright knows this, he can expect many more fastballs which would greatly help him. He would see both his power numbers and his avg. rise.

I'll say he's worth about 4 years 75-80 million. Durability is a big issue, but when he's healthy, he contributes to a team as much as anyone in baseball, both on and off the field.
