Answer: Don't know but I would love to see those in real life, they look so cool in online pictures. My favorite is the one of batman and robin scaling a tall building. It actually looks like the sidewalk opens up to a city below it. Really cool.

Julian beever is an English artist who is famous for his art on the pavements of England, France, Germany, USA, Australia and Belgium. Its particularity?

How does JULIAN BEEVER do those anamorphic pavement drawings? Where can I learn that technique?

Answer: Hi! Julian beever has made pavement drawings for over ten years. He has worked in the U.K., Belgium, France, The Netherlands, Germany, the USA and Australia. The pavement drawings have included both renderings of old masters plus a wealth of original inventive pieces of work. Beever's drawings are anamorphic and contain a distorted aspect ratio. To accomplish this, he creates compositions that give a 3D image when viewed from the right angle. It is a very nifty trick of perspective. Oblique anamorphosis is closely related to an artistic technique called trompe l'oeil (French for "deceiving the eye", pronounced "tromp loy"). Both use perspective constructions to create a "trick" image, but the difference lies in the nature of the trick. For an anamorphosis, the viewer is presented with something that does not make sense when viewed conventionally, and so he or she must seek out the unconventional viewpoint from which the trick is resolved. For trompe l'oeil, the viewer, standing in one particular (and usually conventional) place, is tricked into seeing an invented image as if it were reality. Answer: I would use a multimedia/slide projector to project any image onto the pavement at some angle (20-30 degrees). All you need is to "copy" the image following it's light projection Another way is to make a virtual affine projection in photoshop or 3D modeling tool and print the result deformed image. Then divide it by cells with horizontal and vertical lines and copy whole grid cell by cell, like artists usually do when they want to draw a big image on the wall or pavement from a small copy.

Answer: "Credit line"? You mean, how to credit an illustration of a Beever work in a publication? To do that, you'll have to figure out who took the photograph and therefore owns the copyright. It's hard to do when the work of art isn't owned by a museum, but serious research should give you the correct information. Beever works largely in chalk and acrylic, though sometimes in oil as well. Locations should be obvious via publicity regarding a given work. But to be sure that you aren't violating copyright (not an issue if you are using an illustration solely for academic/educational purposes and aren't trying to sell it; in that case, you are protected by "fair use"), then you should contact Beever's organization on the site below:
