Whats with the media coverage of the VIRGINIA TECH SHOOTING?

While watching all the different news channels coverage of the Virginia tech shooting, i was getting sickened by the way they were talking about what happened. It was almost like they were happy that it happened since nothing big happened in the news for a while. Anyone else sickened by this?
Answer: No, I am not sickened by the media coverage. I am one of the few people who shows her distaste for this type of feeding frenzy in the correct manner. I do not watch 24 hour news channels. With 24 hours to fill, what do you think FOX and CNN and the like are going to fill it with? The Norwegian Storling election results? Of course not! They're going to fill that time with something practically guaranteed to keep the average American couch potato glued to their station (and therefore their sponsor's commercials) - something easy for them to understand. We, the public, are ultimately responsible for much of this behavior. We buy the magazines that feed off this kind of thing and watch the channels that bombard us incessantly with the latest combination of celebrity rehab admissions, fluff and wantonly violent behavior clear across the country; most of which none of us would have heard about before the 24 hour news day. Remove the financial incentive for such behavior by the media by removing your support and maybe some day it will just fade back to the dark from whence it came. Well, at least we can try. ~Morg~

Im sure youve already heard about the Virginal Tech shooting. If you havent, today, a man (who is believed to have acted alone) shot up a Virginia Tech dorm. Two hours later he opened fire in a classroom building across campus. He shot and killed 32 people and then killed himself which brought his death toll to 33 in what is now the deadliest shooting rampage in U.S. history. What really was worse? Im discussing it with my friend. Virginia Tech had more deaths, but they were just straight forward shootings. Columbine Massacre was a terrorist like attack on young teenagers with a kill count that would have been over 650+ if the original plan with the bombs had gone off. Some victims (as little is 15 yrs old) were tortured and made fun of (for their race, religious beliefs, etc) before being killed. What really was the worse shooting? Virginia Tech because of the more casualties? Or Columbine because of the victims age and the bombs and viciousness of the attacks?
Answer: I'd say Columbine. Even thought the death toll was lower, it was planned for over 8 months. VT was more of a random spree. The Columbine killers had many motives, where the guy who committed VT was doing it because he was bullied. Eric and Dylan, however, had many such as bullying, hate, revenge, and mental illness (depression). It was also a bombing, as you said. It was also the most significant school shooting in terms of how it changes EVERYTHING in schools. Bullying policy's, introduced lock down drills, and dress code.
