If you have to believe in Jesus to get eternal life as it says in John 3:16, What if I dont?
Is Hell not eternal, or is John 3:16 promising nothing more than creature comfort since either way youd get eternity?
Or am I right and there is no eternal life, Hell, or Heaven?
Answer: You do have to believe in Jesus to get Eternal life. If you don't believe in Jesus.. why would you even worry about it?

Is it an offense against the Holy Spirit to take John 3:16 out of context?
It is rather common for people to infer that John 3:16 ("God so loved the world that he gave...etc.") is about the crucifixion and a blood sacrifice, when in fact the context shows that the conversation with Nicodemus is about the Spirit and the Light of God (Christs primary gospel theme). More on this central theme on my biography.
So is it an offense against the Holy Spirit to take John 3:16 out of context?
Answer: Yes, I fully agree with you that a careful perusal of John chapter 3 has nothing to do with the later false doctrines of blood atonement added.
In John 3:14 in part "...so must the Son of man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life."
Here Jesus tells us to lift him up by loving and obeying God and Jesus here as One in Spirit. To be a godly example to all humans in your liife, as you sincerely believe that Jesus would do, or have you do. This lifting up has nothing to with being a blood sacrifice on a wooden cross of evil man-made human torture to death.
Here are two selections from the current Epochal Revelation of Truth to peruse on this: (public domain, no copyright; freely share)
Page-1904 [Jesus stated:] "And now I declare to you that I, if I be lifted up on earth and in your lives, will draw all men to myself and into the fellowship of my Father. [See John 12:32] You have believed that the Deliverer would abide on earth forever, but I declare that the Son of Man will be rejected by men, and that he will go back to the Father. Only a little while will I be with you; only a little time will the living light be among this darkened generation. Walk while you have this light so that the oncoming darkness and confusion may not overtake you. He who walks in the darkness knows not where he goes; but if you will choose to walk in the light, you shall all indeed become liberated sons of God. And now, all of you, come with me while we go back to the temple and I speak farewell words to the chief priests, the scribes, the Pharisees, the Sadducees, the Herodians, and the benighted rulers of Israel."
Page-2084 10. THE FUTURE
"Christianity has indeed done a great service for this world, but what is now most needed is Jesus. The world needs to see Jesus living again on earth in the experience of spirit-born mortals who effectively reveal the Master to all men. It is futile to talk about a revival of primitive Christianity; you must go forward from where you find yourselves. Modern culture must become spiritually baptized with a new revelation of Jesus' life and illuminated with a new understanding of his gospel of eternal salvation. And when Jesus becomes thus lifted up, he will draw all men to himself. [see and believe John 12:31-32 very important] Jesus' disciples should be more than conquerors, even overflowing sources of inspiration and enhanced living to all men. Religion is only an exalted humanism until it is made divine by the discovery of the reality of the presence of God in personal experience."
Most humans have been falsely taught by usually well-meaning but error-prone human ordained ministers and priests on this barbaric, unreal blood atonement doctrine. The Holy Spirit Knows perfectly that most falsely taught humans on this are not guilty of a knowing sin, just a terrible error, taught my some ministers and priests that is not their fault. For more on this see some of the books on the evolution of the atonement doctrine by Dr Stephen Finlan. They should be freely available to check out from you local public library. If not available, they can borrow a copy for you from another library.
As a Jesusonian Christian Theologian and Evangelist, I have talked with many mainline Protestant ministers and Theologians who also agree that the false atonement doctrine will slowly be replaced with more reality on the true nature of God. Some have told me that they know, and have been taught in seminary schools that the atonement doctrine is partly or fully false; but they will not preach or teach this to their congregations as they do not want to start a controversy which would result in a decline in membership and needed revenues.
In the future, a higher doctrine of "at-one-ment" will replace the primitive doctrines of "sacrifice" and "blood atonement".
Peace and progress with Jesus here into all Truth !

Is there any reason to change John 3:16 from "whoever believes in him" to "whoever exercises faith in him"?
The New World Translation of the Bible renders John 3:16 as "whoever exercises faith in him" (Jesus). Anyone know what the original Greek says? And whats the difference between believing in Jesus and exercising faith in Jesus?
Answer: The NWT in John 3 is based on the Greek scholarship of Roman Catholics Westcott and Hort, whose Greek text is copied verbatim in the JW Kingdom Interlinear of the Greek Scriptures. The latter half of their verse translates literally as:
"...in order that everyone the believing into him not might be destroyed but may have life everlasting."
The KIT renders that as, "...in order that everyone exercising faith in him might not be destroyed but have everlasting life." Clearly, the KIT has taken liberties with the actual Greek words used! There is a Greek word for 'faith'. It does not occur in that verse.
The matter is clinched by checking the JW way of dealing with the preceeding verse (15) which has the same Greek word as in vs 16, rendered by Westcott and Hort as "believing in" both times. You would think the JWs would be consistent, would you not? Exactly the same Greek word occurring in two concurrent verses, having the same context, referring to the same person in order to have life everlasting... well, it ought to read "exercising faith in..." both times, surely.
Ah, but no! Verse 15 is rendered by the JWs as "everyone believing in him may have everlasting life." Verse 16, as we know, says "everyone exercising faith in..." The reason is clear to those who understand JW theology. The JWs cannot seem to see the living, vibrant aspect of belief in Christ as faith. They try to make faith one thing (an intellectual assent based on knowledge) and belief as another thing involving action. The Bible is clear that nobody can have genuine, saving faith without that faith affecting their beliefs and thus, their actions! Further, John is so clear that it has to be belief in one person that saves, the JWs seem to feel threatened, because they also say that one has to believe in their organisation for salvation.
The Apostle John does not use the noun 'faith' that appears frequently elsewhere in the NT. He prefers the verb 'believe' to underscore that faith is not static like a doctrine or a dogma, but dynamic, requiring action. In John's Gospel, believing in Jesus is the trait of all true disciples. The verb translated 'believe' is often followed in John's Gospel by the Greek preposition 'eis' (= into). No parallel exists for this in ancient Greek usage. For John, faith is not a status, but an investment in the person of Jesus. Faith means accepting who Jesus is and what he claims to be. Faith constitutes a commitment to let his call change the way we live. Faith is the work God wants from us (6:29) as we abide in Jesus' word, as we love him, and as we obey his commands (8:31; 15:1-17 & 1 Jn 5:10).
It is a dangerous thing to tamper with the word of God, for every single word is divinely inspired and in the text for a reason. To be inconsistent in translating Greek words usually betrays an underlying motive. If the JWs who used Westcott and Hort's Greek text had appreciated the nuances of John's gospel, they would have realised there was no need for them to be inconsistent here.

The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward—when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.
Answer: the sons of God, well one is in Hebrew...its more talking about a different type of son. a being created by god, Adam is also refered to as the son of god in one of Jesus' Geneology. Jesus is Gods Only True Son, and he tells us the difference, that the father is in him and he is in the father. he was not created. he was with God, but when he became manifest in a women, his father, was God, and so therefore he is effectively the only son of that type, born of a women.
the daughters of men were most likely daughters of Cain, who did not live on a righteous path, and the Nephilim, were acctually probably more likely the Sons of SAul (i think thats wrong, eves third son, who was righteous, his name starts with an S) anyways, his sons were righteous and so they would be on Gods path, so they were, in Hebrew, God's sons, in terms of they followed him. But jesus Was him, partially, in he sense he was also fully human. its like god and a human had a baby...

I looked up the biblical phrase and saw it as a reference to Jesus and having an everlasting life. Is this some kind of subliminal advertising for Jesus?? Does anyone know or have any affiliation with the company? Or has anyone seen this themselves?
No one who has submitted an answer has even remotely tried to answer the main question I posed. I dont need to know what it says in John 3:16, I can just as easily look it up. I want to know why the company "Forever 21" would have "John 3:16" written on its shopping bags.
Answer: in and out burger does that on the bottom of their cups too. the busines is family owned and operated and they are religous people just trying to send some positive vibes out into the world.
