Answer: I think networks like ESPN do care -- they just don't have anything new to report on it at the moment.
I'm sure ESPN is itching to get some NBA news to talk about. And as soon as they do, they will be talking about it a lot.

you can watch hockey now that the nba is in a lockout its a very cool sport.
Answer: I actually watch hockey on a regular basis. I think all of you basketball fans should try watching hockey for a season. I personally think that it is a lot more exciting than basketball. Do not misunderstand me, i do enjoy watching basketball too, but hockey is the overall better sport in my opinion. I say if you basketball fans watch hockey for one season you will love it! Hockey needs a wider fan base and this is the opportunity. So i think all of the basketball fans should watch it! It is an amazing sport that you guys can witness.

Would the offseason be more fun if the NBA LOCKOUT is resolved closer to the regular season?
Ive noticed now that the NFL lockout is over Free Agency is much more fun right before the season like it is now.
Theres more urgency and more happening at one time and it being closer to the season increases the excitement for opening night
Id like to see the same happen with the NBA, though I sadly think well either have 50 games or no season
What do you think?
Answer: There was a Lockout back in the 1998-1999 NBA Season which forced the league to only have a grand total of 50 Games. I hope we get a full 82 Game Season, but as of now, that is highly unlikely. I want the Nba lockout to end right now, but we have to wait for the owners to come to a new agreement with the CBA. The NFL Lockout and the Nba lockout have two different stories, but I really want this to end as soon as possible.

Would they have the right to do this, since the lockout is forcing them to be broke for a while. Is there a date when the NBA LOCKOUT will end?
There are so many posts and articles about this whole lockout thing and every reporter has their different opinion. Have any of you guys seen or heard of a date when they will end all this mess and commence the NBA season?
Answer: It won't be more than another week or 2 I believe. The players are on the verge of caving now. Its no suprise. The players union never had a chance against David Stern at the negotiating table. He's going to get his 50/50 split or very close to it The NBA players union trying to take on David Stern in negotiations is as ridiculous as David Stern putting on a uniform and trying to take on Kobe Bryant.

How would an NBA LOCKOUT affect us fans?
I have business just need to find how a Nba lockout could affect me as a fan from games to merchandise
Answer: It would effect fans because people do not like to hear millionaires and billionaires gripe about money. It turns people off to hear that. Some people are sickened by that talk and simply stop going to games and buying jerseys. It trickles down to the business end of NBA merchadise.
I think most younger fans don't care, they just want basketball back, but older working fans are the ones who get turned off by the NBA after a lockout. Unfortunately for businesses, they are usually the ones buying most of the merchadise for their kids.

The end doesn't seem to be in sight. I'd say Kim and Kris' marriage lasts longer. In the end, however, I think they're doomed.

How does an NBA Draft work after a lockout?
So theres gonna be an Nba lockout this season .how would the draft workout now.
Answer: If they play a partial season, then the normal draft order applies. If the whole season is lost, then the owners will have to reach an agreement on the draft order. When the NHL lost its whole season due to a labor dispute, the draft order was decided by a weighted lottery, where each teams finish in the previous five seasons was considered.

Is the NBA LOCKOUT the best entertainment the league has offered in decades?

Seriously, with uneducated millionaires bickering with old, fat billionaires over who takes in the most money, the in-fighting among owners and players, the threats to decertify... I hope the lockout goes on forever. Usually I have to pay for this kind of entertainment, and its way better than watching boring NBA games. Anyone else agree?

Can someone help me understand the NBA LOCKOUT?
Im really lost in all this talk about a lockout. Im a big fan of the NBA and would like to know what exactly is going on. I am aware that this happened back in 1998, but Im unaware of what this exactly means. Can somebody please tell me what will happen? How many games will now be played? Will there be an All-Star weekend? Just tell me the basics of what will happen PLEASE!
Answer: The players have a union, which like any union has a collective bargaining agreement with the owners.
Collective bargaining agreement (a.k.a. CBA) covers all players and all team owners.
The NBA CBA needs to be renegotiated just like it does in NFL right now.
Generally what the CBA covers is how many games in a season, what the salary cap is, retirement benefits that kind of stuff.
The CBA runs for a period of time. When it expires there is no labor contract in place for the players so essentially there is no NBA without the CBA.
Until they have a new CBA that both players and owners can agree on the players are not allowed to even go into the practice facilities much less play a game. Once the CBA is agreed to, then your other questions can be answered.
If the players don't play they don't make any money.
If the players don't play the owners don't make any money.
It's both sides best interest to resolve it quickly.
