What is this news about NBA lockout?
I heard on TV that NBA might have a lockout this season. Can anyone please explain why?
Also if lockout happens, are the teams not allowed to practice together? Because I heard some European players will go back and play there during the lockout.
Answer: the reason for the NBA lockout is really simple : Some NBA players want higher paychecks, even though they ALREADY MAKE MILLIONS every year... the owners, who cannot afford to give them higher paychecks because the NBA lost more money than usual these past years on ticket sales/merchandise ect. Since the owners cannot afford to pay these NBA players the money they want, they are forced to propose lower paychecks, the ignorant NBA Players however, won't accept these "Barely lower" paychecks... even though they would still make millions every year.
How the lockout will be resolved : It may take some time, but eventually the NBA players will begin to cave in to the owner's proposals. Since the players won't play games, they won't make as much money or enjoy the sport they love. When they finally realize that the lockout is hurting them they will begin to agree to lower paychecks and the NBA lockout will end.

No Criticism of Referees, of Any Sort
Replacement referees are working N.B.A. games for the first time in 14 years, with the league offering assurances that they are superior to those used in the past. what do you think of the latest NBA LOCKOUT NEWS?
The players decline the owners offer to discuss a 50/50 split, at first i was on the players side, but their egos are getting the best of them.
I am talking about todays negotiations, they just want to make a point now, and its getting really annoying.
Answer: The players in this league are complete idiots. It would be a lot better for them (money wise) to accept the 50/50 cut than to have the entire season cancelled. Because if they accept the 50/50 cut then they will only be losing a small fraction of their pay. But if the whole season is cancelled then they would be losing an entire year's salary. And for all of the idiot players who would rather play internationally, they are taking a much larger pay-cut then if they accept the 50/50 deal. Also they will be playing against inferior player (talent wise) and it's not going to help their game.
I'm on the owner's side because most of the owners didn't make a profit last season, which is sad considering that they own the team.

BREAKING NEWS NBA LOCKOUT?
Just a few minutes ago in NYC, NBA players, agents, and owners along with David Stern and Billy Hunter gathered in a secret meeting. A lot of players were there like Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony, Chris Paul, Amare Stoudemire and a lot more. They finally chose to bring the most important player to the meetings... GOAT Anderson Varejao. When GOAT Anderson Varejao came he became involved in the discussions, David Stern knew the NBA was going to have its full 82 game season. After 25 minutes of talking a deal was finally reached thanks to GOAT Anderson Varejao. Although a deal was reached, there was extra chatting from David Stern, Billy Hunter and a few nba players. Sources say the players were Josh Childress, James Harden, Mike Bibby, and Kevin Durant. They all mentioned that GOAT Anderson Varejao had to be rewarded for his accomplishment. They offered GOAT Anderson Varejao a "Rashard Lewis Like Contract" he finally deserved. Of course when GOAT Anderson Varejao was notified about the offer he refused to accept. A few minutes later reporters were all over GOAT Anderson Varejao asking him questions. There were 2 main questions being asked. The first one was, How were you able to end this lockout in such little time. GOAT Anderson Varejao said I AM GOAT, WHAT CANT I DO. The other question was, Why did you not accept the "Rashard Lewis Like Contract?" GOAT Anderson Varejao then replied, IT IS NOT ABOUT THE MONEY, I LOVE THE GAME. All I can say about that is WOW! GOAT Anderson Varejao is such a nice and humble guy!!! Then after a while the reporters were done asking their questions and everyone left for home. Now we finally have an NBA season thanks to GOAT Anderson Varejao!
Anderson Varejao is the GOAT!

NBA LOCKOUT NEWS: Kobe, Gasol, James to play in China....others to join?
Fans,
RIP NBA season 2011-2012! What could have been we will never know!
Hot off the Google, Yahoo, ESPN sports media stratosphere:
James, Kobe, Gasol, Howard, and at least 20 other un-named NBA players represented by billionaires-club, The Wasserman Media Group, is taking efforts to protect their players that they represent during the Lockout.
Purportedly, they are going to form an Exhibition League in Shanghai, China showcasing the NBAs elites, James and Kobe among them. Recent #2 overall pick Derrick Williams is in talks with Kobe and the Wasserman Media Group to join them as well!
The gist: The players are sick and tired of Stern and the NBA shenanigans about revenue sharing and profits for the billionaire owners.
The second gist: they will work no matter what and if that means going overseas to get a paid, then they will go where the worlds strongest economy exists = China. The Wasserman Media Group has the money to fund it.
FYI: The Wasserman Group represents elite players in the NBA and is unaffiliated with the NBA.
Other countries involved in hiring NBA players during the Lockout: Spain, Israel, Turkey, Russia, etcetera, etc.
Have fun guys, you worked hard, you deserve it!
Finally:
Q 1. Will the fans stateside follow their games overseas?
btw: go to Yahoo search enter keywords "NBA Players going to China? + news" and the links are there.
btw: Why China you ask? = because the worlds strongest economy in China has some of the worlds largest sporting venues (basketball included).
Answer: Wow this is crazy. If only I were able to see it but I probably won't be able to. BUT that's great for them, hope they have a good time.
Q1:I Don't think so. i'm not travelling to another part of the world just to watch my fav players play basketball no thank you.
