What was so important about RESTREPO the person?
Restrepo wasnt the 1st or last to day in the Korengol Valley but he had a base camp and film named after him.
I just want to clarify I mean no offence by this, i dont mean this question in a bad way to tarnish his memory or anything.
I just wondered what was so important about him??
Answer: Restrepo pretty much focuses on one platoon. Doc Restrepo was the first to die in that Platoon, and everyone liked Restrepo. In memory and for Doc Restrepo the platoon built an outpost for him, and in the documentary, they describe the OP as a huge middle finger out to the Taliban.
Restrepo is not necessarily the most important person who was in the Korengal, they just name the movie and the outpost that, because his death was huge to his platoon, which the movie is based of off.

OPINION; Why Would Anyone Miss War?
SEVERAL years ago I spent time with a platoon of Army infantry at a remote outpost in eastern Afghanistan, and after the deployment I was surprised that only one of the soldiers chose to leave the military at the end of his contract; many others re-upped and eventually went on to fight for another year in the same area. what is the Afghani song in the beginning of RESTREPO?
In the beginning of the film Restrepo when the helicopter is flying over the the Korengal valley, a very depressing, yet beautiful afghani song is playing in the background.
Answer: The song heard in the beginning of the documentary movie for Afghanistan by National Geographic is not an Afghan song but rather is the most popular Bulgarian folk song, which was launched into space in 1977.
"Izlel e Delyo Haidutin”, sung most famously by Valya Balkanska, was used in the documentary movie Restrepo (2010), showing the life of American soldiers in Afghanistan.
Movie director Sebastian Junger decided to use the Bulgarian song as a background to the presentation of the situation in Afghanistan. Junger told Darik Radio that he had the copyrights for using the song.
“The song was found by my wife, who is Bulgarian. I decided to use the song because ti is beautiful. I have the copyrights for this song, as well as for the rest of the music I used in my movie because this was National Geographic's request,” Junger wrote in his email to the radio.

What are some examples of cultural diffusion in RESTREPO?
I need some for an essay
Answer: It depends. Are you going to talk about how American culture is being diffused in Afghanistan or did you see any of those GI's wearing turbans. I think if you really want to talk about this subject in reference to Restrepo you will probably have to look at the many times the tribal leaders had the pow wows with the commanders in the area. There are probably many instances, it's been a while since i saw the show, but the one that stuck out in my mind was when one of the tribal leaders asked where his son was and couldn't understand why the Americans had taken him. The commander then told him because he cut some guys head off and he personally saw the video where this guy did this. The tribal leader still couldn't comprehend that since in his culture or religion that is how you dealt with things, you don't agree we cut your head off where for Americans this is barbaric and repulsive to say the least.
Well that is just one idea I thought of and I know there has to be more than a few more but inbetween Restrepo being killed along with more than a few other folks I think those meetings were the most likely places where you could talk about cultural diffusion, unfortunately though, I don't think the Afghans are really catching on to our way of thinking. If we did things there way we could just go shoot folks and cut their heads off since they didn't show up for church on sunday.
Anywhoo, hope it helps

Why does the walls of the grand canyon appear to have lines? Yes Ms. RESTREPO is mi teacher in bla?
Answer: Rock strata.
Each layer of rock is called a strata with its distinctive fossil and mineral characteristics.
The layers of rocks were lain down successively so that if they were not disturbed, the sequence of strata are from the oldest to the youngest as you go from the first-deposited layer to the last deposited layer. This means, the oldest rocks are at the lowest strata and the youngest rocks are at the top.
The strata of rocks were deposited over geographically huge areas so that they have lateral continuity. Even if they are disturbed by erosion, faulting, folding and uplift, the stratification of the same regional layers of rock would be the same.
The rock materials were originally deposited horizontally as they settled to the bottom of rivers, lakes and the oceans by gravity. If they were inclined or angled, the layers were moved after deposition and lithification (hardening into rock) such as by earthquakes, faulting or folding.
