im having many problems.. first , i increased the virtual memory so it was downloaded.. the problem is that when oracle was installed, i opened sqlplus it asked for user name and password, i entered scott/tiger, it refused , then i went to ts names file and changed the name into Orcl, and opened the sql again and entered: scott/tiger@or cl but it didnt work to my operating system is vista.. is this a problem?

I show you an example: For GOOG it was $85 on 8-18-2004 the link is here, you can search for other companies as well, as I said not all of them can be found. http://biz.yahoo.com/ipo/comp_g.html Well the 2nd part is hard too, for reports long time ago, you have to go to the library or pay to get access to some online databases. Another way is to call their head office to send you a copy of their annual report (they may or may not keep copies of prospectus which shows earlier reports and think that's what you actually want)

Answer: QQQQ holds the largest 100 tech companies and it's your best bet. If you want a fund/etf that only has MSFT, GOOG, CSCO, INTC, and Orcl - you are better off buying them individually. The fact is, 5 stocks is not enough to diversify away diversifiable risk. There is no sane money manager out there that is going to have less than a dozen stocks in his fund.

Ive created partitions in this way: /(root), /boot, /tmp, /usr, /var, /swap, /opt, /oraeng, /disk1, /disk2, /disk3. Im able to do all the partitions except disk2 and disk3. even though the space is there , Im getting partitionning error, saying that " could not allocate partitions." Can somebody throw light on this.
Answer: Plz check you left the non dos partition or not because linux select only the non dos partition after it you should check the swap and native partition if you give more then one gb it not installed

Oracle has announced to buy Sun! Do you think that investing in Sun (JAVA) is a good idea? Im new to investing so Im looking for some advice.. or is it better to invest in Orcl? Answer: I have not been a fan of either for quite some time. I think I did once own some Orcl, but it was a very long time ago. Certainly, not recently. Orcl had a very bad habit of buying back their stock at inflated prices and thus throwing their assets away. They never have paid a decent dividend. As for the combine, Sun does need some help and Java is worth something, maybe. I don't know about the rest of the company. Their open office only half works. Not a real good sign. Of course MSFT Office only 3/4 works so they are closing in on the competition. They do have a great data base--Orcl. I don't think I would buy either. Tech stocks in general are not all that great of investments with a few exceptions.

As one answer indicated, negative net intangible assets might merely be due to fixed assets being depreciated heavily. This might be true mor for brick-and-mortar companies than for software product companies.
Answer: No, this just means depreciation is hurting them. If the cashflow, and cashflow to the owner are good, you should be fine. But I would look at the specific items to see when they might need to replaced.

Im a 20 yr old college student with 10,000 dollars in extra scholarship moneys, what is the best way i can grow my money.(strated stocks in late august and have profits of 23 percent investing in nke, amzn, fdc-wu, yhoo, plt, Orcl, usg, auy) If you couldnt tell AUY, USG, Orcl, FDC/WU, and PLT are all cramer plays. However NKE, AMZN, and YHOO were all my own research, nike is up over 23 percent since i bought it and amazon is up over 43 percent since i bought it both in late august. So i try not to listen to cramer all the time, but i needed to start somewhere.

Answer: The deal was for $9.50 in cash. JAVA closed today at $9.35. If you buy Sun and hold it until the deal closes you should get $9.50 in cash. Orcl may go down from now til the deal closes. In the long term, Orcl should go up if the buyout works like its suppose to. Sometimes they dont. But cash deals tend to work out better than stock deals because the buyer tends to have overvalued stock. And if the buyer has a much smaller capitalization, like JAVA does compared to Orcl, that bodes well for the deal too.

Answer: TEVA is considered a foreign stock (a great choice). It's hard to comment on these stocks without knowing your asset allocation. Also your position sizing will be critical here. The beta on BIDU is considerably higher than Orcl for example. The only one I'm not hot on is TM. Also most of your choices are ADR's. Good choices, but still heavly weighted in international. Having said all that... it's obvious you've given great thought to this list. You've got my vote!

Answer: Make like a tree and leaf ! While the chances of a busted deal is very small... you should take the money and go BUT since the deal is for 19.37, I'd wait til it gets up closer towards 19.25 - then you're within 1% of your max gain. At 18.50 you're leaving money on the table IMO
