Boise State didn't look all that well against Louisiana Tech allowing the Bulldogs to score 5 touchdowns doesn't make them look like a #7 team. Now they're red hot, and they will have a month to prepare for Bama and it will be in the Tigers' home away from home (New Orleans) with a stadium full of purple and gold clad screaming fans. Answer: I agree with you. By right the Team with the Best Record should Win in the End. The LSU Alabama match-up might have been the closest thing to a Championship Game this season. But it already occurred & Alabama lost. They shouldn't get a 2nd chance just because it wasn't in a BCS setting. Alabama isn't getting penalized for being in the SEC. Teams like Houston are being Penalized for not being in the SEC. If a Team with an Undefeated record can't compete with other Teams with an Undefeated Record for the Championship than they shouldn't even be put in the same Division. Why are they even in Division 1 if they're not going to allow a Team that Goes Undefeated to Be in the Championship picture. As long as there are Teams that are in the same Division that are Undefeated a Team with 1 loss should not be considered for the Championship. And if there's only 1 Undefeated Team in the end there's no need for a Championship Game period. If there are multiple teams with the same record at the end then you have a playoff to determine which one is the Champion. Having a Team play another Team a 2nd Time when they're records are not equal to determine a Champion makes no sense. If they stopped concentrating so much on individual conferences & had every Team play the same amount of Games with the same level of competition they wouldn't have that problem. But to have an Undefeated Team play a Team with 1 Loss for a Championship Game when they already Beat them just a few Weeks ago is ridiculous.

He built a powerhouse at LSU, only to take a misguided trip into the NFL. He returned to restore Alabama to what most Crimson Tide fans believe is its rightful place in college footballs hierarchy. And after beating LSU 21-0, he actually smiled.

How can anyone say Alabama and LSU shouldnt play for the title?

For gods sake, just watch film of Alabama. If you think an Oklahoma State can withstand the punishment of a LSU or Alabama defense, then you know nothing about football. I mean, seriously, this is getting tiresome. Just go watch Alabama play. Listen to the broadcasters who watch them in person. Alabama literally murders teams out there on the field. They lost to LSU in overtime, and because they screwed up by kicking when they should have punted or gone for it. They won the statistical breakdown.
Answer: There's valid arguments on both sides. I agree that as far as setting up the best match-up for the title game, it would be an LSU-Bama rematch. I could see an LSU-OK-State game getting ugly and I mean no disrespect to Poke fans with that opinion. That said, there's something about a team not winning it's conference, but being allowed to play for a National Championship that bothers me. Now, if there was ever a case for it to be happen, then this is definitely it. Bama left a lot of points on the field when they played LSU. But as close as it was, LSU won. (in Bama's house, to boot) Bama just didn't quite get it done. People also like an underdog getting their opportunity and such would be the case if the Pokes get in. There's also fans that are sick of the SEC domination and don't want an all-SEC title game. Pitiful argument, if you ask me. Once other conferences start focusing on building shut down defenses rather than these score happy offenses, the streak will eventually end. The SEC seems to be the only conference that hasn't forgotten that if an opponent can't score, they can't win. It might not be exciting, but it sure seems to win championships! At the end of the day, The BCS is about finding the number one team in CFB and I haven't seen a team as dominating as LSU since the Miami or USC championship teams...and neither of them played as brutal a schedule as LSU. I'll be fine with either Bama or OK-state getting the chance. Both are deserving. Whoever does, I don't envy them having to play the Tigers in New Orleans.

Answer: Apparently the people here despite knowing that Alabama backed out don't care and think that Penn State is glad to be playing these teams. Penn State still scrambled to find someone to replace Eastern Illinois, such as TCU, but TCU chickened out. Penn State isn't Florida or Texas or Oklahoma, PSU usually plays real competition. Schedules aren't made weeks in advance like in video games. They seem to think that on August 21, you can schedule an opponent. But then again, people have a myopic mind and think that a schedule one year represents everything. So next year you'll be praising Penn State for scheduling Alabama? What a bunch of clowns on here. And these are probably fans of "powerhouse" teams who scheduled teams that Akron and Syracuse could hang half a hundred on with the second stringers in. Wyoming? Troy? Idaho State? Florida International? San Jose State? Memphis? Houston? Wait, Houston upset the "powerhouse" they played, nevermind. And Wyoming played Texas close for the whole first half. Odds that LSU and Alabama rematch in the national championship?

For it to happen, Bama has to beat LSU and it has to be very close. Stanford will have to lose (probably to Oregon), Oklahoma State will have to lose (probably to OU), and Houston and Boise St. MAY have to lose, and LSU and Alabama would need to blow out all of the remaining opponents (I heard the BCS standings like to go by points scored). ESPN seems to like the all-SEC national championship, but do you think itll happen?
Answer: Here's what needs to happen. Alabama beats LSU (Because Oregon, the highest ranked one loss team in the country, has ONE loss on the season, to LSU by 13. If Oregon and LSU both have one loss and LSU beat Oregon, they're not falling behind Oregon) Oregon beats Stanford (No way LSU doesn't fall behind Stanford, if they lose and Stanford remains undefeated. They'd need help. Even if Oregon beat Stanford, like I said before, with LSU already beating Oregon, they're not putting Oregon above LSU) Oklahoma State loses to Oklahoma (The last undefeated team left... ok, Boise State's there, but LSU played a much better schedule and a one-loss LSU team will still be chosen over an unbeaten Boise State. Anyway, if the Sooners beat Oklahoma State, Oklahoma gets the nod OVER the Cowboys, and Oklahoma lost at home to an UNRANKED team. No way LSU falls behind them if they both have one loss) So yeah, that's pretty much what needs to happen. If Stanford beats Oregon, there's no chance the loser of Alabama/LSU can jump them. Because an undefeated Stanford whose best win is Oregon > a one-loss LSU team whose best win is Oregon. And if LSU wins, Alabama would not have a victory as big as Stanford's over Oregon)
