What happens if the #01 is in the Top 12 after 26 races but MARK MARTIN is not?

I do not know what would happen if the #01 car is in the Top 12 in owner points before the Chase, but Mark martin is say #17 in driver points. Would the car be in the Chase? Could Martin still win the championship? Would the number 12 driver, who is Jamie McMurray now, still be allowed in the Chase if the #01 is there too? Could there be 13 cars in the Chase? I am really confused because it is not like weve had good team that had 2 drivers during the year. The #01 could be there with Martin and Smith both driving it, and would that keep the #12 driver out because his car would be 13th in owner points?
Answer: Bobby Ginn could still win the owner's championship, even if Mark doesn't make the chase for the driver's championship. The other scenario is that Bobby and Mark could BOTH make it, if Martin runs more races, but finish in different positions. There are 2 chases that operate under the same points system but most people automatically assume you're talking about just the drivers when you mention the chase and the championship. There will only be 12 cars in the OWNER'S chase for the championship and if the 01 makes it, and it probably will, the 12th place driver's car (provided Mark doesn't make it in) will NOT have a chance to win the owner's championship. To summarize, it won't keep the 12th place driver out but could eliminate their car from the owner's championship.

Where do you think MARK MARTIN will drive next season?

I bet Mark martin will step aside from the 5 car so that Kasey Kahne can take over that Hendrick ride and I think Martin will end up driving Kahnes present 9 car next year. The reason I think this is because RPM is on a downward spiral and when Kahne leaves, they will really fall unless they have a very good driver, and Mark martin would be a gem for RPM. What do you think? Do you think my prediction will happen?
Answer: I think he will go back to RFR and take over the #6 UPS Ford and put Ragan on the "no driver with a ride list".

How many of MARK MARTINs Nationwide series wins came after he was already driving in the cup series?

I ask this question because I know that at least some of them were while he was driving cup, if not all of them. Yesterday I read an answer to the question about Kyle Buschs accomplishments in the Nationwide series which stated " Mark martin led all those laps against guys at his own level". Of course this inaccurate information was from a known Kyle hater. He won a total of 48 races in the Nationwide series. HE meaning Mark martin has 48 Nationwide wins!
Answer: I guess if you want to be technical...all of them. Mark martin Started racing NASCAR in 1981...and the "modern day" Nationwide series started in 1982. But Mark didn't have his full time ride with Jack Roush until 1988. He won 2 Nationwide races in 1987...so probably the answer you're looking for is 2. ADDED: I never bought into the argument that the Nationwide series was "minor leauge." Look at the win lists from the 80's and you'll see names like Earnhardt and Waltrip...championship winning cup dirvers have always raced in the busch series. Kyle is still out there winning against drivers like Carl Edwards and Denny Hamlin. If you want to see minor league racing, go to your local short track, or try to sit through a season of the ARCA series.

I hate disagree with you but I have drove against Mark In ASA Camaros back in the late 70s early 80s and you give him a car good enough to win and he will if in 2nd he will do whatever he can to pass. Answer: Mark martin is an amazing driver he has won a bunch of races although he has never a championship....yet. Anyway, If he does well it has no reflection on Junior. Junior's cars have sucked we all know that, Junior gets no support from the team owners heck Teresa never even comes to the races. How can anyone win with lousy cars & no support? Next year is a brand new year & DEI will have had plenty of time to right their wrongs & fix those horrible engines, who knows maybe they can improve. For Mark martin I hope they do, that is the ONLY reason I hope DEI improves. Junior will make his mark next year with cars he can count on & a team that will support him. Go #88 in '08!

Will HMS replace MARK MARTIN if it becomes mathematically impossible for him to make the chase?

Im a big Mark martin fan! I think he is the best driver to have never won a championship. He stated at the end of the 08 season that he was going to give the championship one more try. Hes 18th in points, 93 points back of 12th . Its early yet and I sure hope he makes it! But if the Chase gets out of his reach do you look for him to be replaced with whoever is going to drive the five car in 2010? Brad Keselowski for an example.
Answer: Mark has a contract.. If that happened nobody would ever drive for Hendrick again.. And unless he wins the title this year, you can expect to see Mark back for 2010.. You'd probably see him back next year, even if he does win the title..

How much does the France family dislike MARK MARTIN?

The France family is the governing body of nascar. They seem to have robbed Mark martin once again. Isnt it Nascars policy that in an event of a wreck they are suppose to throw the caution flag and freeze the field? This was done to prevent race back to the start line and more wrecks. Yet when Mark martin has an oppurtunity to win a race and starts to slow his car due to Nascars RULE. It bites him and he loses. I am an Nascar fan and travel to events and this greatly angers me. Nothing against Harvick fans. He is a good driver, but Nascar should stick to their rules and not only enforce them whenever they fill like it.
Answer: I don't know what the effect of the flag being thrown would have had on the race. Only Martin knows, and that is probably a big maybe too, I am a Martin fan for sentimental reasons.
