Answer: Hahah good question. Basically, its like a "last person standing" kind of "voting". When Uconn's streak snapped, that meant they had 1 loss on the season. Baylor had won their previous game and so when Uconn lost, Baylor took over because AT THE MOMENT baylor was on a winning streak and Uconn was on a losing streak. Its pretty pathetic considering how Uconn just crushes teams (including Baylor) but thats womens basketball for ya. Voting consist of, media poll, coaches poll. No computer.

They currently have redshirt freshmen Lyle McCombs, who ran for 141 yards in there opener and currently has 81 yards at the half versus Vanderbilt which gives him a total of 222 yards for the year. If he continues at this rate he will be Uconns fourth consecutive 1,000 yard rusher following Donald Brown, Andre Dixon, and Jordan Todman. How do they get these hidden gems? Who recruits these guys?
Answer: thats a combination of two things, excellent offensive recruiting, and some excellent rb talent in the area. some teams just get lucky like that. look at cal, who went from jahvid best, shane vereen, justin forsett (2006) and then even consider oregon state, who had steven jackson, yvenson bernard, jacquizz rodgers. some schools (like miami) have players who have bloodlines to the uni and keep them in the family. miami went from clinton portis, to willis mcgahee, to frank gore, to craig cooper, annd mike james, and lamar gordon, theres been a dynasty of great rbs at these, and other schools

Why is it easier to get into regional campuses? Is it the same education as storrs? Shouldnt storrs be different, beacause its harder? Does it matter where u graduate, or ur diploma says Uconn. Im confused
Answer: well, generally different campuses provides different aspects academically...and some only provide master degrees or doesnt provide dorms...(michagin) well, of course its the reputation and ranking (done internationally) thats makes some campuses (main) harder to get into and of course, if u dont care where u are going to, which campus doesnt matter, but of course, main campuses are mostly and likely to be more competitive...for its international students and professors... of course when u graduate, u will graduate from that department and school, so school of engineering, and it will list that school so even in regional campuses, they name their schools/departments differently than other campuses, its like mc donalds, its owned and operated itself... so if u want to work hard and have a international perspective, go to main campus if u can get into.

How is UCONN basketball going to be this year?

I live in Connecticut so of course a lot of Uconn fans...I think Im becoming one even though I think there are more Red Sox/Patriots/Celtics/Bruins fans that like Uconn than Yankees/Giants/Rangers/Knicks. Anyway how are they going to be?
Answer: They will have a great chance to accomplish what they did in 2004, win two championships in two days. The women's team lost some talent from last year's Final Four squad and didn't get a freshman who was the National POY, but Uconn reloads rather than rebuilds. Maya Moore will have her first real crack at being the next Candace Parker. The men's team brings Hasheem Thabeet, AJ Price, Jeff Adrien, Jerome Dyson and company back. They lost several to transfers and other reasons, and yeah, the Nate Miles fiasco. Even with these losses, a Thabeet/Price/Adrien/Dyson tandem will be tough to stop in the Big East and I'm surprised that the Huskies didn't see Adrien or Dyson go to the NBA. This Uconn team will be scary next year.

Is Uconn the worst bcs bowl qualifier ever? Is either the Seahawks or Rams the worst team to host a playoff game.
Answer: The final selection of the Fiesta Bowl teams are determined by humans. NFL Divisional playoff team hosts are determined solely by on the field records - can not be changed even if all teams in division finish at 3-13. So, a BCS bowl game with a questionable team is more frustrating to put up with.

After reading what you just wrote, I can tell that you lack basic writing skills, such as the ability to structure a sentence without any comma splices. And, ironically, you're majoring in Journalism. As an English major, emphasizing in creative writing, and a member of the school's journalism staff, you don't stand a chance of getting into a respectable school, let alone Uconn, a very prestigious school. In regards to you wanting a scholarship, I literally laughed out loud. Enroll yourself in a basic english class, one that teaches you the basic structures of sentences. I know it sounds degrading, but it's imperative. I'm sorry for sounding like a jerk, but my advice will help you.

Can I go to UCONN and become a pediatrician?

I dont know much on the subject and would just like a clear answer. In order to become a pediatric registered nurse could I get a nursing degree at Uconn and then go to a hospital to get my pediatric training or would I have to go to another school after or possibly would I have to go to a completely different school than Uconn to be able to become a pediatrician. Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
Answer: A pediatrician and a nurse are not the same thing. You can take the premed classes at any 4-year college or university, then go to med school, then do a residency in pediatrics, but you must attend a college with a nursing program and major in nursing to become a nurse.

I am thinking of a previous Uconn center, who did not play much but was the largest on the team. She was the biggest Uconn womens player I can remember. I do know she was white and maybe Irish. Any ideas?
Answer: Kara Wolters (1993-1997) is 6'7, although she averaged 26 minutes a game her senior year, which may rule her out for not playing much. Christine Rigby (1999-2001, transferred from Santa Clara) is 6'6 and didn't play much. She was the largest on the team, but by only an inch, with both Kelly Schumacher (1997-2001) and Paige Sauer (1996-2000) standing at 6'5.
