Is Mitt Romney a shoo-in for the GOP nomination if he wins Iowa?
Hes well ahead in New Hampshire. If he wins Iowa, that momentum only helps him out even more. Two states in back-to-back victories makes him unstoppable, right?
Answer: You may be right, but I think winning Iowa caucuses is not enough, because they are based on pulling power, money, and motivation of a voter to come out and spend time. for his/her candidate. It's logical that Romney will win in NH, because it's close to his old state Mass.
However in the rest of the country, since the ultra " populist " cons like Michelle, Perry, and Newt may kill each other, and the GOP could end up with Ron Paul as the candidate, particularly if he can deal successfully with the issue of his old bulletins.
Ron Paul is the least evil of the GOP crew so his winning, but just the nomination wouldn't be such would not be such a bad thing. Most likely he would force Obama to clean up his act regarding foreign policy and civil liberties. So it's still in flux
Hope this calls

Can you imagine how confusing it would be for a Caucus in which all candidates took place in(Suppose there are over 11 candidates.) It will take a very long time trying to convince people in a caucus to come to your side. However, I think the caucus rules are that after first round, some candidates are eliminated and the next round begins with fewer candidates.
Answer: Iowa Republicans tend to be more conservative on social issues. Not saying they will do well, but Bachmann. Cain, Palin. Huckabee (if they ran) wouldn't stand a chance at the nomination without finishing at or near the top in Iowa.
Whereas the more moderate and liberal Republicans can survive most of the primaries, without a strong showing in Iowa.

Why do people think the IOWA GOP caucus even matters?
No matter who wins the Iowa gop caucus, he (I say he, cause even GOP supporters are not stupid enough to vote for Bachmann) will not win the primary, and even the GOP candidate that wins the primary wont win the general.
Answer: Because the Iowa caucuses have always set the extreme boundaries in both parties. They don't really pick the winners. What they do is define the extremes to which each party is willing to go and let the rest of the USA decide on who is really worth electing.
