when these boys were 14 , said eddie long thee so-called bishop in atlanta, coersed them in to having sex with him and said thats what god wanted them to do. and futhermore what was he doing taking these boys to africa for it sure wasnt to reconnect them with their african roots. answer that for me.
Answer: Doesn't matter if took them to Africa, to "reconnect with there roots". There are laws in the U.S. that prevent this type of behavior. Even though he took them to a foreign country, and the acts occurred in a different country, he can still be charged in the U.S. for soliciting sex to a minor. Just because he is a bishop doesn't mean that he is above the law. Getting his freak on with minors is still not okay.
So yes, he should go to prison.

Answer: I wouldn't of stuck by him and yes that is to much to being paying someone to keep quite about their own infidelities. I go to church to give my money to GOD and his organization not to my pastor for paychecks or for my pastors wrong doings. It makes no sense to follow a man that says he is coming to give knowledge about GOD because he was selected from GOD but then you basically commit one of the worst sins and that "men lying with men". He disgusting and pathetic. Although, I wouldn't of mind being one of the people he paid off.

Answer: The last update I remember was in November of 2010 when more boys came forward. Most likely they will settle out of court, and the accusers will be paid hush money.

Do the boys sueing BISHOP EDDIE LONG actually have a case?
I dont understand what their case is. I know they claimed he performed sexual acts with them, but even they admit it was when they were above the age of sexual consent (i think thats right). I heard that theyre suing him for "coercing" them when they were young (underaged). Is that in itself a crime? & How can they prove it was for sexual motives?
Answer: They lawsuits are not criminal, they are civil. Meaning Long's money (and reputation) is at stake. The charges are things like "breach of fiduciary duty". The men are essentially suing him for using his position of authority as a pastor to 'coerce' them into sex acts. Two claimed Long said it would bring them closer to God to have a gay relationship.

if the were above the age of consent in Georgiam which is 16 when they had the sexual relationship with Eddie Long? I do not see the legal issue tho I do see the moral issue
now personally, I think Long did what he is accused of, but what I am not sure is where they have a case against him. so what if he (as I quote Rick James) loved them and left them. If that was a reason to sue, then most adults could sue at least one ex boyfriend and girlfriend.
Answer: People can sue and probably will sue for any reason. This reminds me of the McDonald's lawsuit where a lady sued McDonald's because she claimed her coffee was too hot and spilled it. She ended up getting a hefty sum. That's the problem with the legal system now; it makes it so easy for people to just sign some papers and hold a trial over nonsense or situations that were never illegal to begin with. There's is nothing illegal about what Bisop Eddie did; it's just looked down upon.
