Answer: Doesn't get any easier then this Chili Con Carne 1 tablespoon canola oil 1 pound lean ground turkey 1/2 red onion, diced 1 green bell pepper, diced 4 cloves garlic, minced 2 teaspoons cumin 1 teaspoon chili powder 1 teaspoon cocoa powder 2 shots espresso or 1/2 cup coffee 1 (14-ounce) can stewed tomatoes 1 (14-ounce) can beef stock 1 (15-ounce) can pinto beans 4 (10-inch) flour tortillas 1 cup shredded low-fat Cheddar Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Heat canola oil in a heavy nonstick saucepan. Add the ground turkey and break it up with the back of a wooden spoon Cook until all pink has disappeared. Pour out any excess grease. Add the onions, bell pepper, garlic, 1 teaspoon of the cumin, the chili powder and cocoa powder. Saute together until the meat and onions are well coated and the onions become slightly translucent. Add the espresso, tomatoes, stock and beans and stir well. Bring to a boil, then lower heat to medium and simmer, uncovered, for 1 hour or until thick. Slice the tortillas into wedges and arrange onto a cookie sheet. Lightly sprinkle with the remaining cumin and place in oven until tortilla chips have crisped. Serve chili with tortilla chips and top with the Cheddar.

Then add remaining ingredients. May add more or less water to determine thickness of chili. Simmer for at least 2 hours.

CHILI 1 lb. ground beef Dash Tabasco 1 can tomato soup ½ tsp cumin 1 can kidney beans 2 tbsp chilli powder Dash salt and pepper Microwave: Cook beef 5 min stir ½ way. Drain beef. Add everything. cook for 6-8 min until boils. Tips: Add corn, peppers, mushrooms, jalapeños, green chilies, shredded carrots, etc. When making large batches use 4 beans and 3 soup. (And no doubt somebody will give it at least 2 thumbs down because somebody has been going to all my answers and giving them thumbs downs whether or not they deserve them.)

Worcestershire sauce 1 Tbs. minced garlic 1 Tbs. dried oregano 2 tsp. ground cumin 2 tsp. hot pepper sauce (e.g. Tabasco(TM)) 1 tsp. dried basil 1 tsp. salt 1 tsp. ground black pepper 1 tsp. cayenne pepper 1 tsp. paprika 1 tsp. white sugar 1 10 1/2 oz. bag corn chips such as Fritos 1 8 oz. pkg. shredded Cheddar cheese Directions Heat a large stock pot over medium-high heat. Stir to blend, then cover and simmer over low heat for at least 2 hours, stirring occasionally. After 2 hours, taste, and adjust salt, pepper, and chili powder if necessary. The longer the chili simmers, the better it will taste. Remove from heat and serve, or refrigerate, and serve the next day. To serve, ladle into bowls, and top with corn chips and shredded Cheddar cheese Yield: 10 servings

Answer: GUNSMOKE CHILI 2 lbs coarsely-ground lean beef or venison 2 large green bell peppers, chopped 2 fresh jalapeño chiles, chopped 2 medium onions, chopped 2 ribs celery, chopped 6 cloves garlic, minced or pressed 1/3 cup chili powder 1 tbsp. salt 1 tsp. cumin 1 14.5-oz. can diced tomatoes 1/4 tsp. dried ground hot peppers of your choice: (cayenne, jalapeño, habanero, etc.) 2 bay leaves 1 15-oz. can tomato sauce 6 cups water or beef broth 2 15.5-oz. cans kidney or pinto beans Sauté meat, bell peppers, fresh Jalapeños, onions, celery, and garlic in a Dutch oven with a small amount of oil. Drain. Stir in all other ingredients except beans. Cover and simmer one hour, stirring occasionally. Add beans and simmer another 15 minutes. Makes about a gallon of the tastiest, most satisfying chili you ever ate. For hotter chili, add more peppers OR TEXAS CHILI 2 lb very lean ground beef or diced chuck steak 7 T chili powder 1 T ground cumin 2 t paprika 1 onion, finely chopped 2 t salt 1 1/2 t cayenne pepper 2 T masa 1 8oz. can tomato sauce 1 15oz. can red beans (optional) 1 15oz. can tomatoes(whole or diced, drained) optional Brown ground beef and drain. OR QUICK TURKEY CHILI 1 lb ground turkey 1 cup chopped onions 1 can diced green chilies 1 can diced tomatoes 2 tabelspoons olive oil 2 cloves garlic 4 tablespoons chili powder (to your taste) salt & pepper hot sauce if desired Brown ground turkey in olive oil until brown, add onions and cook until soft. Add garlic, salt, pepper and chilie powder, mix well, add chopped chilies, diced tomatoes and simmer for about an hour on low. Serve with sour cream and grated cheese. Add hot sauce if desired. JM

Arrange 6 slices bread on bottom of baking dish; sprinkle with cheese. Top with remaining bread slices. Whisk together the eggs, onion, salt, and cayenne pepper. Blend in green chiles and milk. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread. Cover dish and refrigerate overnight (or at least 2 hours). Bake in preheated oven at 325 degrees uncovered 45 to 55 minutes, or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.

I hate the can tasting one from the store and some restaurants. I want help on a good chili recipe.
Answer: chili can be quick and dirty or as elaborate as you know how to cook. I will give you a quick and dirty version and you can take it from there, tasting as you go. 1 pound ground beef, browned and crumbled. 1 medium onion, chopped( if you don't like onion, use onion salt.) 1 green pepper chopped(if you don't like green pepper, skip it.) 1-2 stalks celery, chopped(if you don't like celery, skip it.) 1 teaspoon garlic(or more if you like garlic) stir in veggies with the ground beef and brown a bit. Add; 1 can chili beans or kidney beans or what ever kind of beans you happen to like.You can even mix and match, using a couple of cans of different beans. 1 can diced tomatoes(if you like spicy, use rotelle or any brand of diced tomato that already has hot peppers in them. 1 can tomato sauce. enough water to make a semi thick chili. Some will evaporate as you simmer. Season to taste with chili powder. Add slowly, tasting as you go so you can add more if you wish. Salt and pepper to taste. Simmer for about an hour to blend flavors. Serve with shredded cheese and sour cream. Then the variations: Add a can of whole kernel corn if you like. or add another can or 2 of beans and more diced tomatoes if you love lots of beans or if you are making it for a crowd on a budget. If you love the heat, add a few drops of hot sauce or use hot peppers instead of green peppers. You are the master of chili and can do it however you like. Change up the meat and use chicken. Get a box of barley and make the chicken barley chili recipe that is on the box(its delicious) Use venison if you are a hunter and have some in your freezer.

We are having a chili cook off at the bar I work for and I wanted to bring something that was creative. Something other than traditional hamburger and beans. Like fruit and nut chili or dessert chili (if such a thing exsists) or like using some other meat. Do you have any recipes or even ideas? the wackier the better!
Answer: White Chili Turkey, white beans, onions and green chilies spiced with Mexican seasonings Prep: 30 minutes Cook: 2+ hours Ready In: Less than 2 1/2 hours Servings: 8 servings Method: Boil/Simmer Lifestyle: Make Ahead Regional Cuisine: Ingredients 1 pound dried small white beans 3 tablespoon olive oil 1 cup chopped onion 3 cloves minced garlic 2 cans undrained, chopped green chilies 1 tablespoon dried oregano leaves 1 tablespoon ground cumin 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon dash ground red pepper 9 cups Butterball® Chicken Broth 4 cups chopped, cooked Butterball® Turkey or ground turkey works well also 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper 3 cups (12 ounces) shredded Monterey Jack cheese Directions 1. Place beans in large saucepan or bowl. Cover with cold water. Let stand overnight. Drain and rinse beans. 2. Heat oil in large saucepan on medium-high heat. Add onion and garlic. Cook and stir 7 minutes, or until onion is tender. 3. Stir in chilies, cumin, oregano, cinnamon and red pepper. Cook 3 minutes more. 4. Stir in beans and 8 cups of the chicken broth. Bring to boil on medium-high heat. Reduce heat to low. Simmer covered 2 hours, or until beans are tender. (Note: If mixture becomes to dry, add additional chicken broth.) 5. Stir in turkey, salt and pepper and 1-1/2 cups of the cheese. Cook until cheese is melted. 6. Ladle chili into bowls. Top with remaining cheese. Serve with salsa, sour cream and cilantro, if desired.

Does anyone have any good Crock Pot CHILI RECIPES?

I recently dug out my old crock pot and am thinking about making some homemade chili. The last time I attempted it, it came out like a mushy watery and bland soup with some beans on the bottom. Im sure I could google up some recipes but want to see what you guys have to share first - if youre willing to share your secrets! I love hot & spicy but unfortunately the husband and kids dont. So it needs to be something on the mild side. Thanks!

Any CHILI RECIPES you can share?

I remember when I was younger we used to have really simple chili. I know it had ground beef, kidney beans, some kind of onion, and it tasted slightly sweet but was still very spicey and my mom wouldnt eat it. My dad used to make it when my allergies got bad to help with the nasal congestion that was already there. It was a really simple recipe with only a few ingredients. When I try to find recipes online they always have a bunch of extra ingredients. Im 19 so I cant buy beer.
