Ok everyone please read this and leave you response?
Someone once noted that a Southerner can get away with the most awful kind of insult just as long as its prefaced with the words, Bless her heart or Bless his heart. As in, Bless his heart, if they put his brain on the head of a pin, itd roll around like a Basket Ball on a six lane highway. Or, Bless her heart, shes so buck-toothed, she could eat an apple through a picket fence. There are also the sneakier ones: You know, it’s amazing that even though she had that baby 7 months after they were married, bless her heart, it weighed 10 pounds.
As long as the heart is sufficiently blessed, the insult cannot be all that bad. I was thinking about this the other day when a friend was telling about her new Transplanted Yankee friend, who was upset because her toddler is just beginning to talk and hehasaSouthernaccent. My fiend, who is very kind and, bless her heart, cannot do a thing about those thighs of hers, was justifiably miffed about this. After all, this woman had CHOSEN to move to the South a couple of years ago. Can you believe it? said her friend. A child of mine is going to be taaaallllkkin liiiike thiiiissss.
Now, do not get me wrong. Some of my dearest friends are from the North, bless their hearts. I welcome their perspective, their friendships and their recipes for authentic Northern Italian food. I have even gotten past their endless complaints that you cannot find good bread down here. And the heathens, bless their hearts, dont like cornbread, or know how to make a biscuit!
We have already lost too much. I was raised to say I swaan, not I swear, but you hardly ever hear anyone say that anymore, I swaan you dont. And Ive caught myself thinking twice before saying something is right much, right close, or right good because non-natives think this is right funny indeed. I have a friend from Bawston who thinks it is hilarious when I say Ive got to carry my sister to the doctor or cut off the light. She also gets a giggle every time I am fixin to do something.
And, bless their hearts, they dont even know where over yonder is or what I reckon means!
My personal favourite was my aunt, saying, Bless her heart, she cant help being ugly, but she couldve stayed home. She says the most beautiful women in the world are from the South. So if you see an ugly girl in the South, you know she is from out of town, or there is some bad blood in her family tree.
Southern girls know bad manners when they see them:
1. Drinking straight out of a can.
2. Not sending thank you notes.
3. Velvet after February.
4. White shoes before Easter or after Labour Day.
Southern girls always say:
1. Yes, maam.
2. Yes, sir.
Southern girls have a distinct way with fond expressions:
1. Yall come back! Now ya heaah,
2. Well, bless your heart.
3. Drop by when you can.
4. Hows your mother?
5. Love your hair.
Southern girls know their three Rs!:
1. Rich
2. Richer
3. Richest
Southern girls know everybodys first name:
1. Honey
2. Darlin
3. Sugah
Southern girls know the movies that speak to their hearts:
1. Gone with the wind
2. Fried Green Tomatoes
3. Driving Miss Daisy
4. Steel Magnolias
Southern girls know their cities dripping with Southern charm:
1. Hotlanta or Adlanna =( Atlanta as outsiders say)
2. Richmon
3. Challston
4. Svannah
5. Birminham
6. Nawlins
7. Naashvul
7. OH! And that city in Alabama ? Its pronounced MUNTGUMRY!
Southern girls know the three deadly sins:
1. Bad hair
2. Bad manners
3. Bad blind dates
G.R.I.T.S. = Girls Raised in The South!
Now you run along, Sugah, and send this to someone else Raised in the South, i.e., Southern Belles, or ANY females aspiring to be GRITS. Even the transplanted Yankees, Bless Their Hearts.
However, remember, Just because your children were born in the South does not make them Southerners. After all, if a cat had kittens in the oven, that wouldnt make them biscuits.
Bless Your Hearts and save the world, as it’s the only planet with chocolate

GONE WITH THE WIND bridal shower decoration ideas?
I am throwing a bridal shower with a Gone with the wind theme. I had some ideas for decorations using Gone with the wind posters, pictures, etc but I am clueless on food and other decoration ideas. What types of food should be served to keep with the theme? Do you have any other decoration ideas that arent too steep for the budget?
Answer: Well think good ole southern hospitality....
Find some food ideas that are really southern sounding...if your going for finger foods, I can't think of any right now, but if your going with meal foods, then why not fried chicken..and buffets are large in the south, most parties are pot luck so there set up for everyone to serve themselves..make sure you serve sweet tea or mint juleps. Famous southern deserts are red velvet cake and pecan pie. Mississippi Mud Pie is good too.
as for decorations....make sure you get magnolia blossoms and some fake spanish moss would be nice (remember never use real spanish moss ***chiggers***)
if it is possible, how about having the movie playing in the background.....if outside, play horseshoes.....if time, card games were big in the old south, like rummy or bridge.

Which Led Zeppelin lyrics should I get tattooed? 10 POINTS BEST ANSWER AND Ill ANSWER YOURS!!!?
I dont know where Im getting it yet. Heres some of my ideas:
"And as we wind on down the road.
Our shadows taller than our Soul
There walks a lady we all know
Who shines bright light and wants to show
How everything still turns to gold
And if you listen, very hard
The truth will come to you, at last
Till all is one and one is all
To be a rock, and not to roll.
And shes buying a stairway to Heaven"
(Obviously, these are ALOT of lyrics, so Im not using all of them. If you pick this one, pick the best set of lines to be tattooed, rather than the whole thing)
"Took my chances on a big jet plane
Never let em tell you that were all the same."
(Again, Im not sure if I want the line with the jet plane in it, so if you choose this song, should I go with, or without the first line?)
"Theres a lady whos sure
All that glitters is gold
And shes buyng a stairway to Heaven"
"Theres a feel that I get
When I look to the West
And my spirit is crying for leaving"
"Little drops of rain
Whisper of the pain
Tears and loves lost in the days gone by."

hairstyles for school photos tomorrow?
I have thick curly frizzy/puffy blonde hair. Everyday I wear my hair in a ponytail or bun because it looses control with the weather :(
I have to walk to school tomorrow and my friend lives near the school and I was planning on wearing it in a ponytail and then fixing it at her house (having my hair out) as I would be in less contact with the wind whilst on my way to school. But she has to go see the optomitrist in the morning and wont be at school till midday. So Im really stuck for ideas.. :(
Im planning on straightening it, and Im not sure what time our grade gets ours done.
Answer: Your hair absorbs moisture from the air whole day through. if you have a really tight curl on your hair, or even if your hair is just stubborn, then I would siggest that you buy a light hairspray, which consists a hydro protection or in it . You apply the product on your hair after styling by creating a light mist above your head. The product will keep your hairstyle, because it seals your hair and does not allow your hair absorb the moisture and therefore your in the morning straightened hair should be all straight in the evening too. If you are not able to find one from the supermarket, I would suggest that you ask from your local salon, they usually stock these kind of products for sale.

Alright, so I have this scene in a story that Im writing, but my friend brought up that it might be a bit too creepy and scare readers away...tell me your opinion please??
The clatter of window shutters being closed rang as Lashire walked into the town. He had grown fond of being afraid by the people --one could even go as far to say that he enjoyed the superiority he held over them. He looked up the cobblestone streets to see a man stumbling out of a bar entitled as "The Limping Lizard," the sign screeching in the furious wind. The man was the only one who dared to even be in Lashires sight --either that, or he was too drunk to remember his own name.
He continued walking, trying to ignore the intoxicated stench coming from the man, who mumbled something Lashire couldnt understand. "What was that?" he asked, stopping dead in his tracks.
"I asked where me whores were, you bloat," the drunkard said between hiccups.
Lashire could feel his eyebrows closing together and his nails digging into his palm as his left hand formed into a fist --his right was firmly grasped upon his golden staff. "Best you get inside now, before your idiocracy costs you a life," he warned. His thumb crept up the rod until he found the button compartment, conveniantly placed between embroidered jewels. He pushed down, and the rod spat out a glistening blade from the top end.
Lashire heard another hiccup come from behind him. "I told you to stay out of my way!" he screamed as he turned around, bringing the dull end of his weapon into the drunkards chest.
An almost-silent "Whaf the ell?" escaped from the victims mouth before Lashire shoved the cutting-edge of the rod into the mouth, so deep he could see it come out from the other side of the throat. The man gurgled and coughed, tripping over his feet as he moved backwards, his spine then made impact with the brick wall. A final spasm jerked his body before it crashed to the ground and remained limp in a pool of crimson.

Is now a good time to kill myself?
Im a 19 year old college girl. I play a Division II sport here at school. I was hospitalized on Monday for suicidal thoughts. I was abused when I was 13, I have been bulimic off and on since then. I have cut. Recently I started taking a bunch of pills to make me feel better. I stole Oxy and Vicodin from my house when I was home over winter break and have been living on those. Since Ive been out of the hospital, everyone has taken everything away from me. I cant have pills in my room. I was prescribed Prozac, adivan and trazodone. I was diagnosed with OCD, Depression, Anxiety and Bulimia. The pills are making me feel worse. I called the hospital two nights ago because I felt suicidal and the lady just told me to go get some rest. Like resting was going to make me want to be alive. Ive hurt my friends by being so crazy and I continue to hurt them by arguing every time I need to take my medication. They wont even let me have Advil in my room. I need pills to help me get through the day and they dont understand. No one understands what I am going through and I just dont see a reason to live. Last night I tried tying a belt around my neck but I couldnt do it. It scared me. I feel like the pills are making matters worse and Im going to wind up dead anyways so why not get it over with now. I guess Im looking for a reason to hang on a little longer.

What are similar themes between The Crucible and GONE WITH THE WIND?
I have read and re-read Gone with the wind several times and love it. for an English paper, i am supposed to write about themes in the crucible and i would like to include Gone with the wind as a compare/contrast reference. I believe that there is Social Conformity and Misogyny in both literary works... any others?
Also- are there enough similarities to compare/contrast Scarlett and Abigail?
Answer: Both have heroines who are trying to keep order in their lives during a time of mass-confusion.
The social conformity of old Salem was for women to be under the complete domination of men, and to only be wives and mothers and nothing else. Women led lives of complete boredom and drudgery. The same was true of the Deep South during the civil war.
The Misogyny of both time-periods is that women were not valued or cherished except to be child-bearers. This degrades women, and makes them feel unappreciated. Scarlett proved to be brave and a capable manager, but bound and helpless because of the social norms of the time.
