Answer: Phil has a 50/50 chance of being right but according to the statistics he has been right over 60% of the time. So I'm going with an early spring because I can't type with these gloves on.

Answer: Call your local aninmal control agent to come and set a trap and remove him and if they wont do it call your local conservation dept. They could eventually cause problems with water leaks around the foundation of your home. More a henderance than anything else. Its the same with chipmunks, gofers etc; Good luck!

Why do we need weathermen for 6 weeks after Groundhog day when PUNXSUTAWNEY PHIL does all their work for them?

For years Ive never understood why weathermen are needed for the six weeks following Punxsutawney phils forecast each groundhog day. Once we know Phils forecast we can easily prepare for the next 6 weeks of weather. No need for the weatherman to gobble up 7 or 8 minutes of valuable news time when the forecast is already determined. Does anyone know why all this air time, webpages & newspaper space is wasted on weather during this six weeks?
