Whats the difference between a DINGO and a regular dog?
I always see them on T.V. and the commentor always say they are wild. Well, what makes an animal wild? Like if I released a puppy into the wild would it become like a Dingo?
Answer: A Dingo is actually a feral domestic dog. It used to, a long time ago, be a domestic dog, but now lives independently of humans. They are born in the wild, so could be classed as a wild dog, but aren't wild in the sense of a wolf or coyote, since they used to live with humans.

The DINGO is becoming extinct but why do people care?
There are lots of different kinds of dogs from all over the world. Here in Australia the Dingo is rapidly becoming extinct because they are interbreeding with other breeds, or mixed breed dogs (Mutts). But the Dingo is essentially just another dog right? Its from a different place in the world yes but it only looks different from the others on the outside but on the inside its exactly the same. So why do people worry that this "extinction" is happening at all? Please answer carefully you know why.
Answer: A few reasons to care:
1. Genetic diversity is very important. When we lose a species, we lose that diversity, even if some is mingled with dog DNA. (For why genetic diversity is important: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Genetic_diversity).
2. Dingos may seem like "just another dog" but they are distinct genetically and behaviorally enough to be considered a separate sub-species. Some may argue the Dingo arrived too late in Australia to be important, but at this point they are part of a balanced ecosystem. Until we understand how things relate to each other, we are risking a lot to change things. We don't pull parts out of a car because we don't know what they do.
Dogs do not behave like Dingos. They disrupt the natural ecosystem and endanger other species of wildlife when they go feral or hybrids take over Dingo territory. It seems to be hybrids that cause the most problems with livestock and pets as well.
3. We are part of this ecosystem too. While some species may go extinct without a measurable impact on human life, we have to be careful. Extinction does occur at a slow rate naturally, but human actions have caused a dangerous number of species to become extinct or endangered in a very short time. Life on the planet has been compared to a spiderweb. We might be able to break a few strands here and there, but if we break one of the supporting strands, we could cause the whole web to collapse. (We are VERY dependent on bees for a lot of our crops for example).
4. Finally, do we have the right to stand by while a species goes extinct when we have the power to intervene? Especially when it is human action that is causing the pressure on the species? What right do we have NOT to care?
Edit: I elevated them to the status of species-they are actually a sub-species. I corrected this in my original response :)

why is the DINGO considered a domestic dog?
from my understanding, the Dingo is a wild dog that has never been completely domesticated and is rarely kept as a human companion today. why, then, is it called c. familiaris Dingo and considered to be a domestic dog?
