If you get in the way, you could be sucked in too. Accidents can happen. When a Whale shark swallows something too large to digest –say a large fish, buoy or as you suggest, perhaps even a human – it can cough up the unwanted meal by forcing its stomach up its throat in a process called gastric inversion. Answer: Whale shark . . . doubt it. My dad used to be the guy who collected for sea life park. He used to help university hawaii with tracking sharks eating habits. He died many years ago, but I think the waters were more inhabited then. I doubt ever recall him running into a Whale shark. I have a video with him collecting sharks. In the video, he pulled in a great white which was more than half the size of the main boat. The boat was over 75 feet long. The skiff looked small next the shark. Good luck!
