In Fantasy Football should i Start WES WELKER or Marques Colston?

Wes welker is playing the Steelers and Colston is playing the Rams. Any thoughts? ITs not a PPR league and my other starting reciever is Vincent Jackson, who i figure has a good matchup going against KC.
Answer: Can't stand racists. Well, if it is a PPR league it is Welker, hands down. If it is a league with yardage bonuses (100 yards, 150 yards) it might be a good week for Colston against the Rams D. But I think if it is neither type of leage, Welker will score better. You are pretty good either way, but I would edge towards Welker.

How will WES WELKER perform in 2008?

How is Wes welker going to perform during the 2008 Fantasy Football season? And where should he be drafted (in a 12 team PPR league)? Please support your answer.
Answer: I don't know whether or no Wes welker will get over 100 catches again this season but there is no question he will be a great contributor to your fantasy team. After all, he still has Tom Brady throwing to him which is about as good as it gets and he still will be able to run relatively freely because of all the double and triple coverage schemes on Randy Moss. The only thing i'd be worried about is the loss of Stallworth because he was another very usable option who the defense had to cover. Without him it lets them focus more on Welker however I still see him burning defenses with his speed and football IQ. I'd draft him earlier than later.

Larry fitzgerald for deuce mcalister and WES WELKER?

Ive been offered Deuce McAlister and Wes welker for Larry Fitzgerald. Should I do it? Currently, my RBs are Willis McGahee, Julius Jones, and Tatum Bell and my WRs are Steve Smith, Santana Moss, and Derrick Mason with Larry Fitzgerald. Im in a 12 team league. Do I upgrade my RBs and give up a stud WR?
Answer: give up a 2nd tier WR for a 3rd tier RB and 4th tier WR is not a good trade in my book. I think when you look back on this year, J.Jones and McAllister will have equal points. Jones more yardage, Deuce more TDs so you have to weigh that accordingly. I'd rather you start Larry Fitzgerald over Mason and j. jones over Deuce.... that's what it boils down to.

Okay.... does anyone else out there think that Wes welker is the most overrated Wide receiver in the NFL? I mean come on... He has Tom Brady as a quarterback, and the defense always double/triple teams Randy Moss. Anybody can do it under those circumstances. If you dont believe that, then you cant argue with these stats for the 2007 season: Wes welker: 8 touchdowns for whole season. Had highest rated quarterback, and had defenses double-teaming Moss. Steve Smith: 7 touchdowns for whole season (only played 15 games). Had 4 different quarterbacks (all of whom sucked except for Delhomme), and WAS being double/triple teamed. So tell me.... do you really think Wes welker is a great Wide receiver, or is he just riding the wave of the Patriots success?
Answer: You're comparing apples to oranges here. First of all you're comparing a top tier WR like Steve Smith, who is expected to draw double coverage no matter who is throwing the ball, and is opposite of him, to a #2 WR who should always only draw single coverage. It's not a fair comparison. Second, Wes welker has always been known as one of the best route runners in the league, and one of the smartest receivers, so his success is only partly due to the system and situation he is in. If it were all talent on his part though, he would have been more effective in Miami. He is only over-rated for fantasy purposes, there are more skilled #2 WRs out there than him, but they are in not as good a situation.

how do you feel about Wes welker from a fantasy perspective this year? is he a good #3 wr in a league of 12 teams? my current wr are Marques Colston, Steve Smith, Calvin Johnson, and Jerricho Cotchery. My league starts 3 wr so if i get welker i would obviously have him as a reserve, but ive watched him this preseason and he seems to be a big target of tom brady. does he have a chance to become a starter on my team?
Answer: I had him last year in a league that gave points for kick returns--so he was awesome. I think he has a lot of untapped talent....also Brady loves to spread his targets out, so he is a solid choice for a three-spot WR. (although not a huge producer all on his own)... I would keep him and see where he goes this year, he is undervalued in most mock drafts I have seen--and plays well above where some "experts" rank him. Good luck!

Answer: Welker. Especially if its PPR. If you are in a PPR league Welker is an every week start. If you aren't PPR he loses some value, but is still a solid 3rd receiver/flex starter. I have him on my team and he's an every week starter and one of my most productive receivers. There are plenty of looks for him and Moss, and although Moss is more likely to get a TD week in and week out, Welker still gets his points. I'd expect 8 receptions 70 yards and I think he'll get a TD this week.
