What do I do if my computer goes black after the windows xp thing?

okay so it all started when i accidently deleted my extreme graphics thing on my Dell Inspiron 1100. I then downloaded a window xp file that contained the stuff i needed to fix my screen. It asked to restart to fix it so i did. when I tried to turn it on it went black after the windows logo. I tried the taking at battery and holding power button for awhile 8 times but it never worked. I plead for your help!!
Answer: Try plugging in a moniter from a desktop computer to the VGA port and see if the screen is on that. Sometimes the system will default to display on the secondary moniter.

Letters are weird when i start up windows XP and the screen stays black after the windows logo.?

So i use windows XP SP3, and let me start from the beginning. So recently, my PC was VERY loud while playing games (TF2, L4D), so i decided to clean it from the inside. I removed the cover and cleaned the fans with a vacuum cleaner and those wool ear things that you use to clean your ears with.... i forgot their name, sorry, and it works, when i play there is less sound. So the next day, while im playing L4D, my PC becomes LOUDER than usual (a recurring problem, restarting the pc could take care of it), so i hit the PC a few times since i couldnt leave the game and the sound stopped, so i thought ok and continued playing. THE next day (today, bout 4 hours ago), my bro is playing DotA (warcraft 3 map) and 60 mins (he was playing for about 7-9 hours) into the game, the PC freezes. The mouse doesnt work, their is no sound from the speakers, so i turn off the PC. Now, when i turn on the pc, the start up process is VERY weird, some letters are switched, some letters are a bit discolored and the "summary" part of the start ups borders are whacky. After that, the windows logo pops up (with the loading bar), and the logo has a blue line running diagonally across it (not very blue). After the bar loads up, the screen turns black and thats it, its just stuck there. I have no idea what to do from this point on nor do i know whats wrong.... Does anybody know whats wrong? please help... Also a few more notes. About 4-8 months ago, i would get a "invalid boot.ini file. booting from C:\windows" message during the start up, maybe this could be the problem. Secondly, me and my bro both use the main pc (the one that has the problem, im posting this from a laptop), and the PC doesnt really REST much, i play for about 10 hours or so, then my bro wakes up and he plays the same amount, so the PC rests about 1-3 hours at most, could THIS be the problem? Testing 12 3 4 I dont really WANT to format my pc, i have sooo much stuff on it, games (do you know how many patches there are for TF2!?!), models, music..... is there ANY other option?? and how could the pc be "Dying" already? its about 1-3 years old, always worked etc etc.
Answer: Sounds like your PC is about to retire. Well you should try reformatting your computer maybe its just an error in your window files or you can try updating your drivers for your videocard, motherboard and other hardwares you have. If all else fails just reformatt and if reformatt doesnt work, you need to go computer shopping. Though in my opinion, reformat never fails :) If you want to knwo how to reformat just youtube it, there are many tutorials on it whether its XP or VISTA

Answer: you wont be able to that in MMW,.... i don't use sony, but if sony allows you to have multiple Video tracks and if they allow you to used the green screen/ chroma key function. 1, get another graphic and place it on the time line, shrink it too size and move it above the graphic. 2. capture one frame of the video and take it into a graphic editor and make around the logo lime green and make the logo what ever you want. 3. place this on the time line and use the green screen function so the video shows through and all you'll see is the new logo you made... 4. if you can zoom into the video footage slighly so the logo is now out of shot.... this may spoil the rest of the video and crop peoples heads off...

Internet Explorer 8 using wrong logo on a tab?

I use BT Yahoo as my main page. I recently did a reboot and now the BT Yahoo tab is showing the Spotify logo (the green disc) instead of the Yahoo logo (Y in purple disc with exclamation mark). Answer: That's pretty normal. The Internet Explorer tab usally shows the icon for the site your on. It actually uses something called Favicon. A Favicon is a little icon the site owner created for their site. When you open a tab for a web site, it should the title of the web site with the favicon on the left. The Favicon should also appear to the left of the address in the address bar. If you're seeing the Spotify icon and you aren't on the Spotify site then something is wrong. I'd suggest resetting Internet Explorer. To do this: Click > Tools > Internet Options. Click on the Advanced Tab. At the bottom, you'll see a button for "Reset". Read the instructions before you commit as it will do some things to your Internet Explorer such as disabling certain addons. If you agree, click to continue. Nothing will be deleted it will just be disabled. You can re-enable any toolbars/addons by going into the Tools menu and clicking on Manage Addons.

hi, im trying to install nero 8 but it requires me to install directx 9.0c first. however my computer wont let me install dx 9.0c as every time i try to install it i get a message "failed windows logo testing". ive tried everything to overcome this such as disabling logo testing as adminstrator. can anyone please help or suggest a dvd authoring software that doesnt require directx? thanx in advance.
Answer: My guess is that your drivers aren't digitally signed as logo'd by Windows Hardware Quality Lab (WHQL). Go to Help & Support and type in Directx. I found out heaps there about it myself .

windows xp stuck in reboot loop?

I just updated to windows explorer 8, and then turned off my computer normally. Then, later, when I tried to open my laptop, it just kept rebooting from the windows logo with the progress bar. Theres no BSOD, and it doesnt ask me or tell me anything. I pressed F8 to try to startup from a safe mode, but that doesnt work either. Any suggestions before I resort to doing a repair install or a clean reinstallation of windows xp?

Answer: That basically means that Microsoft has not tested the software, although it doesn't necessarily mean the software is unsafe. In fact, this site (that I just found through yahoo.com) claims to have tested it and found it safe. I've installed several programs that display that warning with (knock on wood) no adverse impact so far. Just keep your virus check up to date!

my computer freezes randomly at glowing windows logo at start up?

Windows xp boot logo takes too long?!?! 10 points for best answer!!?

I just ran a system recovery on a secret partition on my vaio, and it reverted back to sp1 and the win xp logo took about 8-10 seconds and I was logged in, but when I ran updates and installed sp2 (I wont do sp3, seems a bit too buggy), the windows xp logo displays anywhere from 40 seconds to a minute. The rest of the computer runs fine and and there is nothing that looks out of the ordinary..... specs (its and old laptop about 4 years old....but I just use this for on the run stuff): Intel pentium 4 2.66ghz 1GB ram 32.5gb HDD integrated (obviously) graphics and sound...... PS: my xp LOGIN time takes no more than 3-4 seconds though, so it has nothing to do with startup items... Answer: Ok if it was the first time after the update this is just that windows does alot of the updating after the PC reboot. Other reasons are that SP2 does make alot of system changes and adds a fair few new features which will cause the system to increase boot load times. Also a fresh install systems always runs quicker then a system with any changes (just the nature of things) Apart from it being a sloppy update (try removing in re-installing SP2) there is probably nothing else you can do. Just finally update to SP3. Its better to have a buggy update (which it isnt really, no more then any other windows update) Then a PC with holes all through it.
