Currently, through eight games, Adrian peterson has 1036 yards. He has another eight games left.
Answer: 1800 minimum, and possibly 2000. I think he can pretty much gain as many yards as he sets his mind to. He's set some very lofty goals for himself this year and it looks like he will probably exceed those. Dude is unbelievable!

Youve seen how hard Adrian peterson runs and how effective he can be. The guy has speed and power. Hes played mostly special teams and he is always the first player to the ball on punts and kickoffs. Now that Thomas Jones is gone it seems alot of people think that Cedric Benson is a lock at starting running back. I like Cedric Benson alot and he can definitely be an effective runner. But I think Peterson has a great chance of starting and theres going to be a real battle in training camp.Do you think Adrian peterson has the ability to start and do you think he has a shot at it? Obviuosly im not saying that because hes good on special teams that hell be a good starting running back. I was thinking of the carries he got when he backed up Thomas Jones. Look at the Bears roster and youll see Adrian peterson. Morons.
Answer: First and foremost, I love it when an individual speaks out with such passion, such authority - for example - 'AP runs for the Vikes' - and looks like a COMPLETE IDIOT because they don't have a clue about what the hell is going on or what is being talked about. Way to make a$$es out of yourselves! From what I understand, Benson is a north and south style runner, right? Peterson is more of a juke back? So different... but both power runners, all the same. Personally, I wanted AP to get more playing time 2 years ago. He looked good when Orton gave him the ball, I was impressed by his speed and power and his ability to see gaps. Benson is their end-all at the position, it seems... but in Benson's defense, he put up decent enough numbers last season. I'd say, from what i know, that AP has a shot. I know AP hasn't touched the ball as much as Benson in his pro career, but I'd like to see AP get most of the carries this season - unless he SUCKS. If that is the case, in comes an eager Benson. Either way, The Bears win their division and go back to The SB on the backs of their defensive line and a better-than-expected Grossman. I don't think Benson or Peterson are going to have a breakout season this year. The Bears are doing more to establish a passing game than to shore up the running game, because the running game was ok with Jones at the helm, and they chose to go with unproven(?) guys. Maybe it was a good move. BUT - I think only BENSON, out of the two, has the endurance. He gets my nod. I don't want a tired running back 10 games into the season.

What are the chances that Adrian peterson goes down being considered a top 10 RB of all-time and do you think he will?
Answer: I ask myself this question very frequently. I'd say the chances are pretty average. He holds the record for most rushing yards in a single game, but Jamal Lewis held that record as well I don't think of him as a top 10 back. I suppose we just need to wait and see. I don't think i'll ever put him above Earl Campbell, Eric Dickerson, O.J. Simpson, and Marion Motley. And I'll never even think about putting him above guys like Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, and Walter Payton, but he could crack the top 10 if he continues to perform.

I beleive he looks like he will be a Hall Of Famer one day. Its trendy to say that now, but do you really think hell be HOF really? Ive been a Viking fan my whole life and it is wierd to say that we have a running back who can be hall of fame worthy, but i really think so this time. What is your perdiction on Adrian peterson? Well i meant to ask do you think he will be a hall of famer one day?
Answer: Oh, for sure he will. He's shown so much promise already and broken so many records. Before the injury, he was on pace to get 2000+ yards at the end of the season, I'm pretty sure he's the only rookie to have 3 200+ rushing yard games, and he set the Single Game Rushing Record as a rookie. His ypc was something like 6.4 after his first 200 carries too, that was in the same range as Barry Sanders and Eric Dickerson's rookie ranges as well. The only thing that may derail him is if people keep stacking the box against us. He showed difficulty with that, but name me a RB who wouldn't have trouble getting yards when facing 9 man boxes.

Why have Chris Johnson fans made the argument that he is a superior back to ADRIAN PETERSON?

Chris Johnson has only outperformed Adrian peterson in one season. While Johnson might be 5% faster than Adrian peterson, Adrian peterson is alot stronger and is more consistent in picking up short-yardage than Chris Johnson who mostly relies on long runs as opposed to wearing down a defense.
Answer: Never take the fast guy. The only reason Barry Sanders gets so much conflict with Emmitt Smith fans is because he was too much an East-West back, rather then the North-South runner we all wish we had. Too many negative yardage runs in hopes of breaking the "big one", when in reality a DRIVE is battering the defense for several minutes, while at the same time keeping your own defense fresh on the sidelines. AD exemplifies that. Even in Johnson's mega-season I would have chosen Adrian if I'm starting a franchise. The reason? Well, we saw it last year and we're seeing it again---only Barry Sanders can use that style and get away with it consistently. McFadden's an injury nightmare. AD seems to have shaken both his ills: Injuries and Fumbles. Now he's complete, just no passing game to keep defenses honest. AD, All Day every day.

Answer: Depending on who you believe, he's either the number 2 or 3 player on most of the player ratings. My thoughts: he will stay healthy and have another great year. Plus keep in mind he plays the Bears twice a year...this is good for 450 yards and 5td's minimum. If you've got the 2nd pick, you should take him and not worry.

Answer: No. They NEED a passing attack and they won't have it with Favre or Jackson at the helm. Peterson can win some games for them, but can't carry them to the postseason.
