How does National ENQUIRER avoid being sued?
They lie all the time, and they lie about powerful people. How is that they are not being sued for libel yet?
Answer: As noted above, they have been sued. For the most part, the people they lie about would rather not stoop to the level of the Enquirer, and they know that not many people are going to take it seriously any way. Plus, any publicity is good publicity. Also, satire and parody are protected speech. Larry Flint (publisher of Hustler) was sued by Jerry Falwell over an add parody that suggested that Falwell had lost his virginity to his mother in an outhouse. The Supreme Court came to the conclusion that you'd have to be a complete *$#@*&^ moron (I'm paraphrasing here) to think that the parody was serious and therefore no libel had occured.

Why is the National ENQUIRER offering a Million Dollars for info about Vera Obama relationship?

National ENQUIRER Cover Shows Whitney Houston In Open Casket
The National Enquirer has published a photo of Whitney Houston in an open coffin on the cover of this week's issue.
Why do the Obama haters find the National ENQUIRER more credible than my links to the CATO Institute?
When I use links to the CATO Institute so that I will not be accuse of using liberal media sources they attack it but today they are touting the National Enquirer.
Now that some funny stuff right there.
Answer: Obama haters are very selective in the sources that they choose to believe -- the trashier the better. They also carefully cherry-pick sources in order to achieve the desired support for their allegations.

How bout "The National ENQUIRER" breaking the story about the Edwards affair?
Who would have figured that the Enquirer would have gotten such a hot and TRUE story before any other news outlet?
The Enquirer didnt cause Mrs. Edwards the stress; John did. Dont blame the messenger.
Ahhh, Dennis, you couldnt be more wrong as you realize once you grow up.
Answer: Other news outlets may have known already, but held back on spreading the gossip. There are some things worth printing and other things that are a waste of ink. The Enquirer is a gossip machine, full of trivial news. And they didnt think about the stress the news would cause to his wife, a cancer patient. Now Mrs. Edwards has another major thing to worry about.
True Mr Edwards shouldnt have cheated in the first place, but hes a human who needed companionship that his wife couldnt provide at the time. It was weak of him, but he probably had regret for his actions which is why he ended the affair. The NE didnt need to add to her stress. Those at the head of the news networks should have seen that it would, and show some compassion by at least waiting until Mrs Edwards recovered. There is a time and place for things to be revealed. Now that the details are out, what good came from it? Nothing. It didnt stop the affair or change anything. And at the end of the day, its Mrs. Edwards crying alone in her room.

Why didnt the ENQUIRER win a Pulitzer prize for their INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM that exposed John Edwards?
If the NY Times or the WaPo had exposed the philandering self absorbed bastard, they would have been feted as the greatest journalists of the century...
The Enquirer actually did INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM... Is that an enterprise the lamestream media gave up in 2008?
Answer: I really thought that they were going to get the prize, but the fact that they didn't shows that they are still being looked down on by the media that has long ago given up being objective or investigative. The lame-stream media is more interested in "access" and not "offending" politicians.

How Many People Think fox news
Is no Different than the National Enquirer ?
LOL. foxnews js no longer a news organization. They are a nazi
rag that I wouldnt let my dog piss on. They are trying to pull down America
Answer: I disagree.
Fox News, the ACTUAL news part, is actually pretty fair and balanced for real. I watch Fox News, CNN, and MSNBC all day at my job. As a rule, the news itself will be about the same out of all three sources.
It is in the opinion shows where they differ. In that, Fox News is clearly Republican, MSNBC clearly Democrat, and CNN hates everybody. Holy h*ll, I have never seen such hating like CNN shows for EVERYONE.
But I digress. Point is, the actual news is actually pretty fair. The opinion shows is where the difference comes in. Their actual news is nothing like the National Enquirer.
