The money people so generously donate goes to fund painful, cruel, and unnecessary experiments on our fellow creatures. In many cases the experiments are duplicates. At work we are putting together a cookbook to sell for the MARCH OF DIMES, can we use recipes off the internet

I didnt know if we took a recipe off of the internet can we get in trouble for putting it into our cookbook to sell for charity? For instance, if we use a food network recipe, do we need to get their permission first?
Answer: Yes. There are copyright laws protecting original pieces of work including recipes found on the Internet. They are on a public source but not in the public domain. I think it would be much more interesting anyway to have some people from your organization, the parents and the kids who benefit form your charity submit their own recipes. Also see if you can contact the marketing/ PR department of those companies who you like and see if their top chefs would be willing to do up unique recipes for your cause. That would work because they get the publicity of being associated with a good cause and publicity for their work. In essence make it a partnership between all your different stakeholders. Oh yeah, check some chefs from popular restaurants in your area too. They might be willing to come up with something for your book as well. Use free local publicity to collect some recipes from home cooks who might want to share too. Its a good way to get additional publicity and get the community involved. I'm sure if you put the appeal out in a local paper or a local radio station you would get a lot of responses. Btw, you can probably even ask the foodies in yahoo answers for suggestions. Anyway, I think this a better way to go and get more creative, original stuff than just ripping off the Internet. Have fun and good luck.

Why only is the age of the mother and the health of the mother discussed? It has been shown that sperm can be damaged by alcohol, cigarette smoke, herbicides, and just by spontaneous mutations because they divide so many times and so many mistakes are made and as a male ages the mistakes are not gotten rid of. If the March of dimes wont publicize this who can? Sorry for such a rambling question but this is serious. At t puberty a males sperm has dividesdover 100 times and at the age of 50 over 800 times. " The human mutation rate for base substitutions is much higher in male than in females and increases with paternal age. Answer: It is not only older men's sperm. If anything is ever wrong with a child it is always blamed on the mother or it is nobodies fault. A mans lifestyle is never considered unless both parents cannot conceive. If a mans is a heavy drinker, smoker, drug user nobody even thinks twice but let a woman have ever done those things and oh my God. I have always firmly believed that the lifestyle, etc. of a man strongly influences his sperm and future complications of a fetus, just as a woman's lifestyle does. Seems to me men get away with alot. If a man leaves his family, does not pay support, or does not even claim his kids then no big deal but let a woman do those things and she should be hung from nearest tree. Think about it, if a woman has a miscarriage the first thing she says is what did I do wrong and if she has multiple miscarriages then it is assumed she cannot carry a child for some reason nobody even considers that there may be some defect in her husbands sperm that is actually causing the miscarriages.

Has anyone walked for the MARCH OF DIMES while they were pregnant?

Im due July 17th and the March of dimes in my city is April 18th. Would it be a bad idea for me to do the walk? I really would like to. Has anyone walked for a cause while pregnant before? How did it go?
Answer: You may not be able to do the whole walk but, unless your doctor tells you otherwise, there's no harm in walking. Just take it easy. Don't push yourself too hard.

Answer: No. Go door to door, or go to craigslist.com, click on volunteers.
