Millions around the world celebrate Three Kings Day, the 12th Day of Christmas
Many bakeries also cash in on the holiday, with the tastiest part of the day: Kings Cakes. "We love Epiphany and the Kings Cakes," said Judith Norell, the owner of Silver Moon Bakery in Manhattan. "Its such a fun holiday, its so delicious."
How do you make a filled KING CAKE for mardi gras?
I want to make a King cake for mardi gras, but need a simple recipe. I would love one that uses cake mix! Also, filling such as cream cheese is desirable. I was even thinking about ways to use biscuit dough or cinnamon buns??? Any help is very much appreciated!
Answer: I made 2 the other day. A cake mix won't work, because it's a yeast dough that's used for King cakes. I made a Cinnamon Roll recipe - rolled it out and put in a layer of raspberry jam and cream cheese filling - rolled it up and formed it into an oval and baked it. You could buy some refrigerated tubes of cinnamon rolls though; roll those out and fill with cream cheese filling. Roll it up and shape into an oval or circle and bake. Then, when they're cool, ice with simple powdered sugar & lemon juice (start with 1 cup powdered sugar; adding lemon juice 1 TB at a time with wire whisk, until the right consistency). You can buy purple, gold & green colored sugar, or make it by putting white sugar in a little baggie with a few drops of coloring and mush it up until the sugar is colored.....

Jehovahs Witnesses can a baptized witness go have coffee and KING CAKE with her worldly friends?
We are in Mardi Gras season here in the south. And Mardi Gras is paying homage to all the false gods. Is it innocent to eat the King cake and return the favor of the next coffee and Cake party if you get the baby in the cake?
Its not me brother but another witness who seems to have lost her way. I wanted to make sure we were all on the same page. I think I have a responsibility now that I know.
This same witness is about to celebrate her birthday with a party.
This person tells me to mind my business , thats it is between them and Jehovah. She sees it as harmless fun.
I asked a hypothetical to an elder...he said if I know someone is doing something wrong and do not tell, my standing in the Kingdom Hall could be in jeopardy.
Answer: I dont want to touch on the wordly friends part of your question, as we all know that ultimately we choose our own friends (wisely or unwisely), and we always reap what we sow!!
Now the interesting part I find is that you are talking about the same person who is thinking of having a birthday party.
Ok, so really you have done the correct thing so far........if you have brought the errors to her attention and she is still being stubborn/rebellious then you need to remember Bible principles and speak to the elders about this (remember - the aim is to win back your Brother?!), leave it in their hands and of course Jehovahs.
Maybe someting else you should be considering is whether association with this person (no matter how much you love them), is wise at this time. You need to safeguard your own spirituality and relationship with Jehovah.
I know that this scripture may not apply exactly but I hope you see where I am coming from!
"Quit mixing in company with anyone called a brother that is a fornicator or a greedy person . . . not even eating with such a man."--1 Corinthians.
5:11.
“Do not be misled. Bad associations spoil useful habits.” (1 Cor. 15:33)
Another thing to remember is that we do not want to stumble others - imagine if you keep close (if you are of course!) friendship with such a person may others think that you are condoning - even joining in with such things?
If a weak one saw this they might have their concience affected and think that it is ok to do these things away from the congregation.
I am not the best person to give advice as I am not so wise - but I hope all these answers may help you in your dilemma.
One more thing - if as a result of you speaking to the elders this person changes the course of their actions - do you think that they will be sat in the New system saying "I wish you would have just kept out of it you nosey so and so?"
NO - I think they will be saying, thankyou Debbie - you are a true friend you helped me see how foolish I was!
Here is a good article that may help you;
Why Report What Is Bad?
WATCHTOWER 15/8/97---
Clearly, those who have no love for Jehovah are not likely to appreciate having their error brought to light. The sinful human tendency is to resist reproof and resent whoever gives it. (Compare John 7:7.) Little wonder that many are as silent as stones when it comes to revealing the wrongs of others to those who have the authority to correct them.
Appreciating the Value of Reproof
Among Jehovah’s people, however, there is a different attitude toward reproof. Godly men and women deeply appreciate the arrangement Jehovah has made to help erring ones inside the Christian congregation. They recognize such discipline as an expression of his loving-kindness.—Hebrews 12:6-11.
Jehovah’s servants can become involved in serious wrongdoing, even those who have been faithful for many years. Recognizing that the elders can assist, most take the initiative to approach them for help. (James 5:13-16) But sometimes a wrongdoer may try to cover up his sin, as did King David. ***What should we do if we come to know about serious wrongdoing in the congregation?
Whose Responsibility Is It?
When elders learn about serious wrongdoing, they approach the individual involved to give needed help and correction. It is the elders’ responsibility to judge such ones inside the Christian congregation. Keeping a close watch on its spiritual condition, they assist and admonish anyone who is taking an unwise or wrong step.—1 Corinthians 5:12, 13; 2 Timothy 4:2; 1 Peter 5:1, 2.
**But what if you are not an elder and you come to know about some serious wrongdoing on the part of another Christian? Guidelines are found in the Law that Jehovah gave to the nation of Israel. The Law stated that if a person was a witness to apostate acts, sedition, murder, or certain other serious crimes, it was his responsibility to report it and to testify to what he knew. Leviticus 5:1 states: “Now in case a soul sins in that he has heard public cursing and he is a witness or he has seen it or has come to know of it, if he does not report it, then he must answer for his error.”—Compare Deuteronomy 13:6-8; Esther 6:2; Proverbs 29:24.
Though not under the Mosaic Law, Christians today can be guided by the principles behind it. (Psalm 19:7, 8) So if you learn about the serious wrongdoing of a fellow Christian, what should you do?
Handling the Matter
First of all, it is important that there is valid reason to believe that serious wrongdoing has really occurred. “Do not become a witness against your fellowman without grounds,” stated the wise man. “Then you would have to be foolish with your lips.”—Proverbs 24:28.
You may decide to go directly to the elders. It is not wrong to do so. Usually, however, the most loving course is to approach the person involved. (which you have done) Perhaps the facts are not as they appear to be. Or perhaps the situation i

Maybe if you talk to a bakery out there and give them a recipe they might be willing to bake you one or you could make your own if you bake. I don't think they are that difficult.
Here is a recipe that I found for you:
If you're not in New Orleans and you don't feel like mail-ordering, you can always make your own. Here's an excellent King cake recipe, provided courtesy of Chef Emeril Lagasse.
2 envelopes active dry yeast
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 pound (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup warm milk (about 110°F)
5 large egg yolks, at room temperature
4 1/2 cups bleached all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon grated lemon zest
1 teaspoon vegetable oil
1 pound cream cheese, at room temperature
4 cups confectioner's sugar
1 plastic King cake baby or a pecan half
5 tablespoons milk, at room temperature
3 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
Purple-, green-, and gold-tinted sugar sprinkles
Combine the yeast and granulated sugar in the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a dough hook. Add the melted butter and warm milk. Beat at low speed for 1 minute. With the mixer running, add the egg yolks, then beat for 1 minute at medium-low speed. Add the flour, salt, nutmeg, and lemon zest and beat until everything is incorporated. Increase the speed to high and beat until the dough pulls away from the sides of the bowl, forms a ball, and starts to climb up the dough hook.
Remove the dough from the bowl. Using your hands, form the dough into a smooth ball. Lightly oil a bowl with the vegetable oil. Place the dough in the bowl and turn it to oil all sides. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside in a warm, draft-free place until doubled in size, about 2 hours.
Meanwhile, make the filling. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream cheese and 1 cup of the confectioner's sugar. Blend by hand or with an electric mixer on low speed. Set aside.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured work surface. Using your fingers, pat it out into a rectangle about 30 inches long and 6 inches wide.
Spread the filling lengthwise over the bottom half of the dough, then flip the top half of the dough over the filling. Seal the edges, pinching the dough together. Shape the dough into a cylinder and place it on the prepared baking sheet seam side down. Shape the dough into a ring and pinch the ends together so there isn't a seam. Insert the King cake baby or pecan half into the ring from the bottom so that it is completely hidden by the dough.
Cover the ring with plastic wrap or a clean kitchen towel and place in a warm, draft-free place. Let the dough rise until doubled in size, about 45 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F.
Brush the top of the risen cake with 2 tablespoons of the milk. Bake until golden brown, 25 to 30 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool completely on a wire rack.
Make the icing. Combine the remaining 3 tablespoons milk, the lemon juice, and the remaining 3 cups confectioner's sugar in medium-size mixing bowl. Stir to blend well. With a rubber spatula, spread the icing evenly over the top of the cake. Sprinkle with the sugar crystals, alternating colors around the cake.
The cake is traditionally cut into 2-inch-thick slices with all the guests in attendance.
YIELD: 20 to 22 servings
