Is DANICA PATRICK just an overhyped marketing tool to get Indy racing over?

Lets be honest. Is Danica patrick a real driver or just a novelty?
Answer: I tend to say yes. She seems to have one thing that the other female drivers have lacked. Overt sex appeal. Janet Guthrie, Lynn St. James, Sarah Fisher are not about be in Maxim, FHM, etc like Danica. I'm not saying she doesn't have talent. You have to at some level to compete. However, take any of the other women listed above and put them in comparable equipment to what Danica has and they may have done just as well. Conversely, put Danica in some of the crap those ladies had and we probably wouldn't really be talking about her. Sex sells, don't forget it. IRL needs the coverage, but until Danica wins multiple races I won't be sold.

Answer: LOL, that's embarrassing. I'd honestly want to kill myself if I was the 2nd or 3rd place guy. *In fairness to the guys who lost, this woman is much lighter than them and this was shown to confer almost a second of advantage per lap in her previous races (even then, she didn't come in the top 3 most of the time). If weight was taken into account I guarantee she'll come in much further behind.

The obsession with DANICA PATRICK by the media is going to far?

Take todays race. It was as if only Danicas performance mattered. So now who wins a race is irrelevant if she crashes? I know she is popular, but this following is excessive. And its worse considering she is mostly hype and looks instead of talent.
Answer: She is something new for Nascar, and its the media job to do this. I do agree its over kill. But theres nothing we can do about it. I'm use to her I follow IRL and she gets tons of attention there as well, she gets all the attention in IRL and Sarah Fisher who is a better driver gets no attention. Answer: Who is Duno? Milka Duno is a female who wants to be an open wheel race car driver. Her 4 masters degree in engineering will not help her become a skilled open wheel race car driver. You have to watch the video of the practice lap where it all started. Where the blocking occurred. Milka Duno was way too slow and wouldn't let Danica pass. Danica slowed up 2-3 times but she caught up with Milka again but still wouldn't let her pass. When danica finally got the chance, halfway through the pass Milka went down in and almost made contact with danica's car. After the practice Danica ( didn't entered Duno's pit) asked calmly "did you see me?" 2x Milka said something I saw or see you and she got physical and threw a towel on Danica's face 2x that's when Danica said a foul language. If not for her country's oil company citgo (her sponsor), Milka Duno wouldn't get a ride in IndyCar. Milka should train in Indy Lights not IndyCar. Danica patrick (England and US trained) and Sarah Fisher (US trained) have proper training before getting into IndyCar. They've been competing since they were young like most drivers. Milka is way too slow and pose danger to other drivers especially on oval tracks.

Why do so many people think that DANICA PATRICK is such a poor driver?

It seems like most people on Y! answers that answer questions regarding Danica patrick call her a "poor" driver, "average," "talent-deficient," or say that she under-performs in some way or another. Where do these opinions come from? I have been watching Danica race for years and even though she is no Rick Mears or AJ Foyt Jr., she is DEFINITELY one of the top 5 or 6 drivers in the IRL. Can you name 6 drivers that are better. I mean, as far as I can see, she is right up there with Marco. Wheldon, Kaanan, and Hornish may be better drivers, but not by much. I think these people on Answers are putting to much stock in actual wins. If you know how racing works, you would see that Danica had just as good a shot as anyone to win the Indy 500 this year. It all boiled down to when the rain started. If you watch closely, Danica always puts herself in the best position possible with the car she has to deal with. Other drivers either wreck a fast car or squander away good position.
Answer: Danica is a fine driver. She is looked down upon because she is the first woman to actually be some real competition in a man's sport. Give her some credit she was the first woman to lead a lap at the Indy 500 two years ago and the first woman to finish the Indy 500 on the lead lap, which was all during her rookie year. Not many male rookies even finish on the lead lap. I think some men maybe threatened and well they should be. I'm not saying she is better than Wheldon, Kanaan, or Hornish but they've been racing longer. She's had to work and there is a lot of pressure on her to win races or she'll just be written off as another woman who couldn't finish the job. The same thing with Marco. He's under the same pressure to win as Danica or he to will be written off as an Andretti that couldn't finish the job. You try winning under those conditions and it doesn't help matters either with other drivers on the track with inferiority complex looking for a chance to mess her up. I'll let her win a few races first before I start saying she's better than anyone else though.

Answer: To be honest, I would like to see Patrick shake things up a bit. Though, I think she should gain a little more experience in a stock car before jumping in feet first. I would root for her if she got rid of her "the world revolves around me attitude".

Answer: My money would be on Danica patrick. It would depend on the type of race though In the disciplines where Verena Mei has experience, such as time trial/time attack style racing, I think it would be closer but I still give the advantage to Danica patrick. In any other discipline, Danica patrick would win handily. There are also dozens of other current female racers more accomplished then Verena Mei, and several that have the potential to be better then Danica patrick.

I just got back from a convention and won a nice autographed 8x10 picture of Danica in a dress, holding her helmet. I also won a replica car of hers, autographed, still in the box. Is her stuff worth much and if so would you have a ballpark of what it would go for? Thank you.
Answer: I would say the photo around $20 (you can buy autograph photos via her website for $20) the car would depend a lot on where you sell it on eBay you could get a good sum but I would say somewhere in the $50 range

Whos tired of DANICA PATRICK confronting other drivers and just how overrated is she as a driver?

Answer: I am so tired of her antics, IRL might need to fine her or suspend her to calm her little butt down. I think its so funny that shes always looking for a confrontation, and when she got one from another woman, she was so fast to back down. Walking up to a man and talking crap knowing he cant and wont do anything is one thing, but she had a towel thrown in her face, twice, by a woman and she did nothing but say "I just wanna talk, I just wanna know if she saw me."
