What are the Underground Chronicles by SUZANNE COLLINS about?
i read The Hunger Games and Catching Fire by Suzanne collins and i was wondering if her other books were just as good.
the books in the underground chronicles are:
Gregor and the Overlander
Gregor and the Prophecy of Bane
Gregor and the Curse of the Warmbloods
Gregor and the Marks of Secret
Gregor and the Code of Claw
also what age range are these books?
Answer: A kid and his sister fall down a vent in their apartment building and discover a world of giant animals, if you are thinking about reading it- don't, it's such a waste of time, don't bother with them, for example, when they first fall down the giant cock roaches surround them because the sister pooped her diaper.
They might, and I stress might, be good for 8 year olds.

What are your reviews on The Hunger Games by SUZANNE COLLINS?
I just recently purchased the The Hunger Games by Suzanne collins so I can understand whats really going on before I see the movie. I just want to know what you all thought of the book. Im looking for ratings from 1-5 stars, and your reasons why.
Answer: I thought the first book was really good. I'm not usually one for romance, but the Hunger Games made me think twice about it with the whole fake-love thing for survival, but how it eventually blossomed into something more. The first book was my absolute favorite. I couldn't put it down once I had picked it up.
Then I read the second book, and I thought, "Well, ok. This isn't as good as the first one, but it's still something worth reading." Besides, I can't just stop in the middle of a series. I'm OCD like that. So I read Catching Fire, and I enjoyed it, though not quite as well as the first book.
Then I read Mockingjay. From the 10th page on, my opinion on the entire series slowly started decreasing, and decreasing, and then boom, I hit the last 30 pages and I suddenly detested the whole book. The ending was rushed, the deaths seemed unnecessary and purely for the entertainment and epicness of the series, and it seemed as if all that Suzanne collins wanted to do was finish the damn book already, and it didn't matter whether the audience liked it or not.
In conclusion, I think the series started off great. Catching Fire was when slowly started to decline, and then Mockingjay was absolutely repulsive. I would rate the entire series 3 stars. Would have been a 4, but Mockingjay just bombed it.

What does the arena look like in catching fire by SUZANNE COLLINS?
Im doing a book report on Catching Fire by Suzanne collins (awesome book btw and loved the hunger games!), but I cant quite figure out how to draw the area... it would really help if someone could describe it in detail for me. thanks.
Answer: The way I picture it (and am currently working on drawing at the moment. :P), is basically as a big clock, divided into 12 sections, such as an actual clock would be. In the center of the clock, there's an island with the cornucopia on it. Radiating from the center are 12 spokes, each with two branches coming off of it (one branch for each tribute). Around all that is water. Then past the water are the islands. So basically, a large circle, with two smaller circles inside of it. Now that's ONE way I see it; but sometimes, certain things in the book make me see it another way.
That is, it's still one large circle like a clock, but towards the bottom (9 and 3 down), there's a beach coming off of the main island. Part of the main island sticks out, holding the cornucopia. Again, branching off from the cornucopia are 12 sand bars/platforms, with 24 platforms for the tributes.
Now, I see problems with both my ideas. With the first, Katniss describes it as standing on a platform (in the beginning) with water stretching off into the distance, so it couldn't really be in the center of the island. But then later in the book, when the cornucopia spins and they can't tell which section they're facing, well....so as you can see, it's quite confusing. Maybe Suzanne will actually show us a rough sketch of what she imagined it to look like someday. ;)
Other than that, the arena is mainly dense jungle, with some beachy areas. Towards the top of the clock (By 11, 12, 1, etc), there's a forefield surrounding it, and the elevation is higher. I'll see if I can remember what the different sections are...
12 to 1 is the lightning storm
1 to 2 is the blood rain
2 to 3 is the poisonous fog
3 to 4 is the monkeys
4 to 5 is the screaming jabberjays
6 to 7 is the beast (never revealed what it actually is)
10 to 11 is the tidal wave
and 11 to 12 is the clicking insects/beetles (again, never revealed).
As for the others they were never mentioned/figured out (unless I missed something)
Hope this helped. ^^

Is SUZANNE COLLINS going to make a continued story of the Hunger Games series?
In Mockingjay at the end Suzanne collins didnt really describe the ending , like what happened to Gale and how she felt about Prims death and her mother leaving her. Suzanne kinda just cut to the chase and ended the book. I personally think it would be nice to make another book about after the war and about her starting her new life and what it took for peeta to convince katniss to have a baby and all that stuff she never really described.
Answer: I don't think so. If I were her I would be afraid of killing the series because that's what happens to a lot of them that get too long, Series of Unfortunate Event for example. She would have to come up with another action adventure plot that was even better than the one before but it included her kids and I'm not sure how she would do that. I do sort of like your idea though, I've always wanted to know what happened. I think she left the ending really vague so the readers can fill in what happened with their imagination.

Is the third Hunger Games by SUZANNE COLLINS called The Victors?
I honestly think thats an awful name; is it really called that? Any other info on it; I know its coming out on August 24, 2010, but does anybody know when theyre releasing the cover image or the real name if it isnt called The Victors? I know Catching Fire was originally going to be The Quarter Quell, so maybe its just something Suzanne collins is debating. Also, any other opinions on the title?
Answer: I completely agree with you. It is a horrible name. I think Suzanne collins is gonna stick to her two-word titles. Hunger Games, Catching Fire, both are brilliant names. And if she just puts The Victors as a title... Well, I'm sure many people, including myself, would be very disappointed. in that name. The Victors is only a rumor though. People called Scholastic Press and asked about it, and they denied it ever having been called that. I'm sure that's not it. I can't wait for it to come out! We'll have to wait a while, but I think it'll all be worth it in the end.
Hope this helps!

NOTICED; Movie Tie-Ins Extend to Beauty Products — Noticed
IT made me laugh. It made me cry. It made me buy lip gloss. Such is the hope of Hollywood cross-promoters these days, as movie tie-ins go beyond lunch boxes and action figures and move into beauty products like perfumes, hair gel, curling irons and lipsticks. What is the climax, conflict+resolution, and theme for Catching Fire by SUZANNE COLLINS?
Im reading Catching Fire by Suzanne collins, and I want to know what the climax, conflict, resolution, and theme is for the book. Im sort of confused about it. :(
Also, for homework, what is the tone and mood of the whole book?
Answer: I hope your writing an essay or something on this.
In Catching Fire, the conflict, well, there are tons. Let's say the games. Katniss is stuck in the games, with no cheating allowed this time, and a bunch of people she now likes. The climax, probably the last bit in the ring, with the many explosions... The resolution is when the shield breaks, and Katniss is taken out. There are too many themes to just say one- there's survival, government repression, the bonds or love, friendship, and hatred, ect, ect.
The mood/tone is often dark, and at times sinister. There are small rays of hope and laughter throughout the book however- all the better to contrast.
hope this helps. ^^

What is the book Mockingjay by SUZANNE COLLINS going to be about?
Hi! I just finished reading the book Catching Fire by Suzanne collins and I was just wondering what the last book is going to be about!
Answer: It was ok didnt like the distric 13 part and honestly didnt finish it shhhh cant wait for the movie but it was about this!
After her rescue by the rebels of District 13, Katniss is convinced to become "the Mockingjay": a symbol of the rebellion against the ruling Capitol. As part of a deal, she demands that the leader of District 13, President Coin, grant immunity to all of the victors of the Hunger Games. She also demands the right to kill President Snow herself. In a daring rescue, Peeta and others previously captured are rescued from the Capitol. However, Peeta has been brainwashed into believing Katniss is the enemy and tries to kill her upon their reunion in District 13.
The rebels, including Katniss, take control of the districts and finally begin an assault on the Capitol itself. However, an assault on a "safe" Capitol neighborhood goes wrong and Katniss and her team flee further into the Capitol with the intent of finding and killing President Snow. Many members of Katniss' team are killed, including Finnick Odair. Eventually, Katniss finds herself pressing on alone towards Snow's mansion, which has supposedly been opened to shelter Capitol children (but is actually intended to provide human shields for Snow). Afterwards, bombs placed in supply packages kill many of these children and a rebel medical team, including Katniss' sister, Prim. Prim's death makes Katniss psychologically scarred to the point of great instability.
President Snow is tried and found guilty, but he tells Katniss that the final assault that killed Prim was ordered by President Coin, not the Capitol. Katniss realizes that if this is true, the bombing may have been the result of a plan originally developed by her friend, Gale. Katniss realizes that she will never be able to look at Gale the same way, regardless of whether or not he was directly involved in Prim's death. Katniss remembers a conversation with Snow in which they agreed not to lie to each other. When she is supposed to execute Snow, she realizes that he was telling the truth and kills Coin instead. A riot ensues and Snow is found dead, having possibly choked on his own blood or been trampled in the crowd. Katniss is acquitted due to her apparent insanity and returns to her home in District 12, along with others who are attempting to rebuild it. Peeta returns soon after as well, having largely recovered from his brainwashing. Finally, Katniss surmises that falling in love with Peeta was inevitable, as he had always represented to her the promise of a better future, rather than the destruction she now associates with Gale. She says that she didn't need Gale's fire, as she already had it herself; she needed Peeta, who symbolized the hope she needed to survive. Together with Haymitch they create a book filled with previous tributes and others who died in the war so that they will not be forgotten.
In the epilogue, Katniss speaks as an adult, more than fifteen years later. Katniss is married to Peeta and they have two children together. The Hunger Games are over, but she dreads the day her children learn the details of their parents' involvement in both the Games and the war. Peeta and Katniss experience flashbacks of the Games sometimes. When she feels distressed, Katniss plays a comforting but repetitive "game," reminding herself of every good thing that she has ever seen someone do. The series ends with the sentiment, "But there are much worse games to play."

Will there be a sixth book to the Underland Chronicles by SUZANNE COLLINS?
Also, can someone give me a nice LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG list of novels like that. Ive read stuff like The Lord of the Rings, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Neil Gaiman, and Narnia. Ill probably have read or attempted to read novels youve listed bellow (if you do) but please list them anyway because Im almost done Gregor and the Code of Claw by Suzanne collins. Well, actually I am approximately half way through.
Thanks a ton in advance!
Answer: No there isn't a sixth unfortunately, I hated how the series ended; so disappointing. But a really good series regardless of how it ended. But at the same time I would get tired of reading if every story ended with the same happy ending. Why would you want to read if you already knew how the book was going to end? Maybe read another series by Mrs.Collins called the Hunger Games. It was okay, it is for older kids and teens mostly. Ooo I know a good series (only two so far) its about vampires. no not stupid twilight or the other crap that's be coming out since twilight. Its called Bloodlines its an awesome series. Its like a spin off of Dracula. I loved it.
