Should the Big Ten be excluded from the tournament?

It seems every year, the Big Ten teams in the tournament gets embarrassed. I dont see any team from that conference making a serious run. I would say Michigan State, but they lost two straight games at home to Northwestern and Penn State. Earlier this season, Michigan beat UCLA and Duke. But that now seems like a distant memory. A win over UConn may improve their chances. I think the Big Ten is overrated.
Answer: Well the Big 10 is not that strong, your right, but should still be in the tournament. The conference is made up of several descent squads.

If Minnesota makes the finals of the BIG TEN TOURNAMENT, do they deserve consideration for the NCAA tourney?

That would mean they beat #3 Indiana and #2 Purdue, both "locks" for the big dance. That would also mean the Gophers would have a conference record of 11-10 (pending big ten tourney final) and 21-12 overall. Would that be good enough or would they need to win it to secure a ticket to the dance?
Answer: Good question, and no easy answer. If they WIN the tournament, then they're in, obviously. If they make the finals but come up short, it comes down to how much the Committee thinks of the Big Ten vis a vis, say, the ACC or the Big East. Personally, I'd go for Minnesota and leave out, maybe Syracuse from the Big East, but, lucky me, I'm not on the Committee.
