How would a Prime Guy Mezger do in the STRIKEFORCE and bellator light heavyweight division in 2011?

How would a Prime Guy Mezger do in the Strikeforce and bellator light heavyweight division in 2011?
Answer: He'd do alright. Maybe a champ in Bellator, possibly a contender in SF. He was a very technical striker at a time when few of those existed. He also had solid wrestling and good knowledge of submissions. Realistically, however, I think he'd probably cut down to 185lbs in today's environment. He was always kind of a smallish 205er, much like many fighters back in the early days, weighing only 200lbs in his debut at UFC 4.

Any tips for getting cheap tickets to STRIKEFORCE?

Id like to go to the Strikeforce event while in Columbus this weekend, but dont want to drop much money. Is Strikeforce a company that would lower prices at the door on fight night just to get seats filled?
Answer: I'm not sure about that, they start @ 99 on StubHub & are probably a little cheaper on Ticketmaster. If they don't fill seats then they don't fill seats. It's according to their ticket contracts.

Answer: Strike Force is a good but small company I think they have only had about 8 mma shows, so the show they have on NBC is only a highlight show with the possibility of having a live event later this year most likely with Cung Lee as the main event.

What is a good rod for the Daiwa STRIKEFORCE Reel, around $50 or less?

Thinking of buying a daiwa Strikeforce and was wondering what is a good and reliable rod for the reel around $50 and maybe lower.
Answer: Bass Pro Shops Tourney Special, but with shipping it's gonna be a bit more than $50 (It's $50 retail) if you're ordering from Basspro.com. If there's a Bass Pro Shops close, by all means go check them out. Not the biggest fan of their "power hump" design, but it's somewhat comfortable. If not, go to Wal-Mart and pick up a Berkley Lightning Rod. Get a "TRIGGER" 7' MH (medium-heavy) model. This should cover most basic bass fishing. I usually run a M (medium) rod but with a MH you can fish lighter baits and those heavier baits (1/2oz jig, 1/2oz spinnerbait, etc). The Lightning Rod's are $40 I believe, sometimes they go on-sale for $35. There's also an Abu rod at Wal-Mart for about the same price, $40 or so, that's maybe a better rod than the Lightning Rod. I believe it's a bit lighter. I really wouldn't advise going any cheaper, but I do run a $25 Berkley Cherrywood on one of my BC reels and it does an okay job. Even stuck a few fish on plastics.

Answer: Through there website, showtime comercials, and co-promotions. Like there is some Dream vs Strikeforce. In these co-promotions, they get exposer to Dream fans also. UFC gets more viewers because * Short answer, the UFC is more established. Not to mention that reality show is on free T.V, so the UFC is promoted better. I think Strikeforce should have gone to ESPN, so it can get more exposer. 1) UFC is more established. Back when the UFC was a styles vs styles, no holds bared event, it was a hot button topic. This gave it a buzz. The reality show saved it, so the UFC is what it is today. Eventhough Strikeforce was around during the late 80's, its was a kickboxing promotion. Strikeforce did not start doing MMA intell like 2007, I balieve.

Answer: NBC seems to be on back just waiting for a good moment Strikeforce is entertaining and has good fighters on their books but they still need a big name to come in and push them up. I think Tito Ortiz would be a GREAT pick up for them and put them closer to compete against UFC. Elite XC is good for the sport but have Kimbo Slice as their big name I think hurt them more than helped them

Who do you think has the better heavyweight division UFC or STRIKEFORCE?

I am not really sure which is better but am leaning towards Strikeforce slightly. What do you think?
Answer: Honestly, the UFC HW division is terrible. It's full of has beens and never wills. It's champ, Brock Lesnar, wins every match with illegal blows to the back of the head, but he's never called out on it. As a whole, the UFC peaked a couple of years ago...it's ridiculous to pay $45 for a fight card with one decent match-up and 8 other guys that most fans have never heard of. Strikeforce wins by default. Fedor and Overeem are much better than anyone currently in the UFC HW.

What is your opinion on STRIKEFORCE last night?

Im disappointed in the results last night. I wanted Henderson to win,and Moussasi, and neither of them did. I was also disappointed in the actions of the fighters at the end resulting in a fight. Its unprofessional, and now Strikeforce is probably going to be cut from air time on cbs. This is only going to give the people who are against MMA more reason to bash the sport. What is the future of Strikeforce, and what is your opinion on this?
Answer: I was really pulling for Hendo also, but Shields dominated him. Everyone is saying that Henderson threw the fight...that is bs. Rampage was able to hold Henderson down, is it that surprising that Shields could do it? They were both exhausted by round 3...Hendo was too tired to shake Jake off, and Jake was too tired to finish the fight. You have to give Shields credit though...he may not be the most exciting fighter in the world but his style wins fights. Also, Miller did nothing wrong last night. How many times have fighters came into the cage after a fight in the UFC? All he said was "Where's my rematch buddy?". Melendez started it all by pushing Miller. I really don't think that this will have a huge effect on Strikeforce, but that's just my opinion.

Did Fedor make a huge mistake signing with STRIKEFORCE?

I didnt know much about Strikeforce other than hearing the name and seeing some of their fights twice at like 4 am on Sunday morning on some cable channel. I just looked at the Strikeforce web site and they have like 5 fighters in each division. They have more ring girls than actual fighters. Why the H*ll did Fedor waste his time on Strikeforce? Who is he going to fight? Good lawyers can get anyone out of any contract for the right money. I really wonder if Fedor up for the UFC?
Answer: it's a double-edge sword for fedor. signing w/ Strikeforce both hurts and helps his reputation. it hurts him because, of course, he isn't facing top tier guys. in contrary, he can sweep almost every opponent in the heavy weight division of that organization and will probably still be considered one of the best mma fighters because of that.
