Who will win the primary in Puerto Rico?
Do you think Romney will win, because Santorum fucked himself over?
With that I reference to the fact that he lost a big endorser/super delegate because of the statement he made that I quote "As in any other state, you have to comply with this and any federal law... And that is that English has to be the main language,"
There is no Law or Amendment whatsoever that enstates an official language in the US and in fact English is only the De Facto official language.
Who wins the 23 delegates in Puerto Rico?
Answer: The local republican leaders are backing M. Romney, he will surely win. After what Santorum said I expect him to get in fourth place.

A question about Puerto Rico Primaries in June?
I heard other people are saying that Puerto Rico will have their primaries in June, but my understanding is that is only the democrat primaries? How about the republican party? Do they also have primaries (or it is called caucus?) when people talk about primaries are they only referring to the democrat primaries?
Answer: The 2008 Puerto Rico Republican caucuses was held on February 24, 2008. John McCain won all 20 pledged (and the support of 3 unpledged delegates) at the commonwealth's convention.
The Demcratic Primaries will be held June 1st.

Santorum, Romney Square Off in Suddenly Crucial PUERTO RICO PRIMARY
Sunday’s primary in Puerto Rico, with 20 delegates at stake—more than New Hampshire, Vermont, or Hawaii—could be a very big deal
8 days after the Dem. Primary, Puerto Rico rejects US colonialism at the United Nations, You agree?
8 days after the Obama / Hillary primary in Puerto Rico (primary that got the worst turnout of voters in the history of Puerto Rico, where voter turnout traditionally is 80%, only 15% showed up)
PUERTO RICO goes to the United Nations and denounces USA colonialism, you agree?
The governor of Puerto Rico denounced US colonialism at the United Nations. Puerto Rico is asking for its sovereignty and self determination as a spanish speaking latin american nation.
Some facts:
Puerto Rico was invaded by the US in 1898 (along with Cuba and Phillipines) but annexation plans failed due to cultural and political resistance.
Puerto Rico remained under a US military colonial regime for about 50 years, during that time puerto rican nationalists had many revolts.
Since 1952, Puerto Rico is a self governing country (without sovereignty), with its own constitution, national flag and anthem but its sovereignty is still being held by the US congress as a commonwealth/unincorporated territory

United Nations resolution on Puerto Rico - June 10th 2008

Answer: I think being under US sovereignty has benefited them. Thousands of Puerto Ricans relocate to the states, particularly NYC every year. They have full American Citizenship and can even vote as long as they reside in a state. Not to mention all the Federal tax aid they receive.
So I say if they want their sovereignty, give it to them. It will be a huge mistake for them. They don't have the natural resources to sustain themselves and I predict they would go from 1st world to 3rd world in less than a decade.

The PUERTO RICO PRIMARY: Obama or Clinton?
There seems to be an assumption that when Puerto Rico votes in June, they will vote inline with Hispanics in the US, giving Clinton a substantial victory. I think this is a wrong assumption to make that Hispanics in PR are the same as those in the mainland...so I wanted to get the perspective of Puerto Ricans.
Who seems to have an advantage down there, Obama or Clinton?
Answer: Puerto Ricans living here will vote thinking on what the candidate proposed to do with PR status. That will be the main issue deciding how we will vote, not their positions about the war, health reforms, economics, race vs sex, etc.
Polithical leaders has been announcing their preferences. Some polithicians favoring statehood for PR like Pedro Rosello and Kenneth McClintock are supporting Hillary Clinton. Those favoring current commonweath status are divided between Obama (Anibal Acevedo Vila, Victoria Muñoz) and Hillary (Roberto Pratts Democrat Party local president). People will tend to follow the preferences of their leaders.
However, I think there are more comonwealth supporters in the Democrat Party than statehood supporters; so Hillary does not have a clear advantage. I see the primary close, but with Obama winning.

WHY is Puerto Rico included in the Primary elections?
This doesnt make sense to me when that country isnt a state Can someone explain this to me? Are there other territories outside the US that are also included in the primaries?
Answer: Excuse me! I am from Puerto Rico and we are not a country...we are a commonwealth! And why shouldnt we be included in the Primary elections!? I mean we ARE US TERRIOTORY! Just because we are not a state doesnt mean we are not americans. And we are trying to become a state. Its too bad that people in the United States dont know very much about Puerto Rico because we are a beautiful island with a lot of interesting history. Its very sad to me when someone asks me where Puerto Rico is or even asks me if we have electricity. Who ever becomes President of the US, is Puerto Rico's president also! Its not like we have a different President. We are not independent...we are a commonwealth that is US Territory...meaning that we ARE part of the US.

Since Hilary won the PUERTO RICO PRIMARY, does she still have a chance of being the Democrats candidate?
Or is Barack ahead too far for her to catch up?
Answer: I don't think so. She would have to win the next two handily, (which appears impossible) and then all the remaining uncommitted super delegates, without exception , should decide to vote for her. Just about impossible.
