What type of BACHELORs degree should I get in order to work and live in Japan?
I am planning on moving to Japan as soon as I get my Bachelors in something. Right now Im getting an associates for transferring to a four year college. But Im not sure whether I should be getting an Elementary teaching degree (Bachelors), or if it really matters as to what my BA is.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: What you're talking about is at least 5 years in the future.A lot can change in that time period.A degree in teaching would probably be your best bet as that can also be used in the US.
You may want to realize that many people who go to Japan to teach English get burned out after just a year or two. The average monthly pay hasn't changed in years.Teaching English is not likely to be a long term affair. You may want to look beyond the time you'll be teaching English.
There are a lot of wannabe teachers now, and the schools can afford to be more picky than they were in the past.So yes, what degree you have can matter.Just keep your future in mind if you discover working in Japan isn't for you.Outside of teaching English & high tech jobs, there isn't much
available to non-Japanese.Most common jobs will always go to a native Japanese first.
You can check out the web site below to get an idea of what kind of jobs employers are offering.

What BACHELOR degree is recmoneded for Fightet jet pilot?
What are the recomended Bachelor degrees that are recomended for this job title. I dont want to hear "anything, it doesnt matter in what" because ive heard it before, i want to know the specifics. And yes there are certain types of Bachelors that they would rather have you obtain such as a certain type of engineering degree, but i do not know what.
Answer: You should get an aeronautical engineering degree with a minor in mechanical engineering. On a 4.0 scale you must maintain a minimum of a 3.8 GPA. After all this technical education you will be able to assemble your aircraft prior to each flight. Canadian F-18s do not come pre-assembled, you know. Post flight you will be able to put in all back into the box for the next pilot to assemble. Also you ought to take several courses in public speaking because you will be required to go to public schools and tell them all about the courageous exploits of the Canadian fighter pilots and their roles in keeping the world free of terrorism.
I forgot to mention that you will need at least 2 years of French in case you have to fly over Quebec. I realize that all this academia is a lot on your plate at such a tender age, but you can hack it! Did I mention flight school? Well, bless my soul. You will have to complete that trivial detail, but since you are so well informed already flight school will be a piece of cake. Bon chance, mon ami.

What kind of BACHELOR degree is required for optometry, ophthalmology and dentistry?
Im not too sure what I want to pursue as a career. Its between optometry, ophthalmology and dentistry. Can I do a certain Bachelor for 3-4 years to give me time to decide what I really want to do? Or does each career require a different Bachelor degree?
Answer: Since those are all biology/health related fields, the degree of choice is a Bachelor's in Biology. Typically, there will be a concentration attached to this degree. For instance, a pre-optometry student would declare themself as a Biology Major with a Pre-Optometry concentration. All this would mean is that you would have to take certain classes within your biology degree to fullfill the pre-reqs for optometry school. This rule applies to both pre-dent and pre-med students. So yes, one degree would allow you to apply to all three schools, but 2-3 classes might be different within that degree to satisfy the requirements.

What is the difference between a BACHELOR of Science and BACHELOR of Fine Arts in Interior Design?
I have been looking at several schools, and some offer a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design and some a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design. What is the difference?
Answer: The Bachelor of Fine Arts has a broader scope, with a strong emphasis on the humanities, theoretical and general knowledge in a recognized discipline, interdisciplinary field, or of a professional study.
The Bachelor of Science is more of a focused approach with a science base to include a balance of liberal arts, technological knowledge, math and computer oriented skills, and practical skills needed for a particular discipline within the field.
In short, you could say that Bachelor of Fine Arts focuses more on the Artistic side of design, while Bachelor of Science focuses more on the scientific or technological side I guess...

What is the difference between BACHELOR of environmental design (architecture) and BACHELOR of design?
University of Tasmania in Australia offers Bachelor of environmental design (architecture) and some other universities offer Bachelor of design (architecture). What is the difference between the two degrees. Both the degrees leads to a masters in architecture and with that can be registered with the association of architects. I want a degree in architecture but I am afraid a Bachelor of environmental design (architecture) from University of Tasmania will be less recognised than a Bachelor of design because I know environmental design is different from architecture.
Thanks.
Answer: Its quite self explanatory if you ask me.
Bachelor of Design (architecture)
Its mainly designing but will have courses/subjects that will be the same as architecture students. But may not concentrate 100% on architecture but the theories and concept may be related to architecture.
Bachelor of Environmental Design
Is designed for architectural students that feel that have some environmental factors in it can help with their career. These could be less on buildings but more on gardens, environment factors, parks, zoos, etc...
Thats what i think, but the best is call/ask the universities course leaders for more details.

How much would a BACHELOR degree in finance cost at a comunity college?
I am planning to get a Bachelor degree in finance and i would like to go to an online college like AIU; they said that it would last about 4 years (associate+Bachelor) and that i would have to get an associate first that would cost about $21k + $30k for the Bachelor=$51k.
Is that a good investment or should i go to a community college?
I live in the Saginaw-Detroit area.
The Bachelor would cost
Answer: You can not get Bachelor's degree in a community college. You can only get Associate degrees.
But what you can do is....
Go to community college first. meet a counselor. Tell him you want to get Bachelors in Finance and you want list of transferable units in Finance to a University.
You will take courses for 1 to 2 years. These same courses are offered in a University, but cost a lot. You will save a lot of money this way. Then in your second year, apply to University of your choice and complete your Bachelors...which will be 2 more years.
You can also apply to Financial aid. You need to be very assertive in getting grants for your tuition.
Good luck

What exactly is the difference between a BACHELOR of Arts degree and a BACHELOR of Science degree?
For example, if you decide to major in economics, you can get a Bachelor of Arts in economics, a Bachelor of Science in economics, or a Bachelor of Business Administration in economics. What exactly is the difference of all three degrees when the major is the same with all three degrees?
Answer: The "exact difference" depends entirely on what school you go to. There are no absolute rules that everyone must follow so what is a BS at one school may be identical to the BBA at another.
That said; traditionally they are not the same degrees but it's not at all about the subject - it's about the general education core requirements and the nature of the application of the subject. You can get a BS in music or art and a BA in biology or math.
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) is an academic degree that requires between 75-100% of the coursework be in the liberal arts. In order to get 100% - the major would have to be one of the liberal arts. To get 75% the major would have to be closely interdisciplinary (such as communication) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liberal_arts The intent is to make you a well rounded person that is very generally educated with some specialized (major) concentration. The degree is all about "why" of your major and not so much "how". The core/general education (English, Lit, history, social sciences, math, science, arts, etc...) is the foundation of this degree and is the primary focus.
The Bachelor of Science (BS) is also an academic degree but requires 50-75% of the coursework in the liberal arts while the remainder can be in the applied/professional sciences or the liberal arts. It tends to be more about "how" of the subject and often requires more quantitative skill (math and stats) than does a BA. The core/general education and the major are given equal attention.
The Bachelor of [Subject] is a professional degree that generally requires 25-50% of the coursework in the liberal arts with the remainder in the major. It's very much a "how to" degree as opposed to "why do we..." degree. The Bachelor of Business Administration, Bachelor of Music, Bachelor of Education, etc... are examples. The core/general education is secondary to the major course requirements. This one is all about how to do some vocation.
In economics: The BA is likely to require more courses in languages, history, literature etc... than will the BS. The BS will require more math and stats and possibly a research study.
The BBA with a major in econ will require a basic general education core but about 50% business courses and another 25% in economics specific courses. It's about how to "do" business.
A Bachelor of Economics (BEcon) if you could find one would require about 25% courses in general education and the rest in economics and the related methods.
But, this is all tradition and not every college follows tradition. The real difference can only be determined by examining the specific degree requirements at each college. In most cases - employers won't care at all. Grad schools may care - if you're going to do an MA/MS in Econ then the more econ courses the better. If you'd want to do an MA/MS in something else then you'd need more of those courses. If you want to do an MBA then the BBA would be the route.
Economics is both a social science (liberal arts) and an applied professional field. It can be studied from many perspectives.

What is the difference between a BACHELOR of science in finance and a BACHELOR of business administration in?
-finance.
What is the difference between a Bachelor of science in finance and a Bachelor of business administration in finance?
And what career path those it lead to?
Answer: A BBA is more general - you get some finance, some accounting, some management, some business law, etc. A BS-Finance would be more pointed.
I recommend that you go for the BBA and if you are really interested in finance, go for an MBA afterwords. A BS finance really doesn't carry much weight these days - you will need an MBA eventually anyway.
If you do go after either of these degrees, by all means take at least one tax course [not the same as accounting] and one "managerial accounting" [aka "budgeting"] course. They were the two most useful courses I have ever taken.
As for career paths, these both lead to careers in business. Again, the BBA can take you almost anywhere. The BS-Finance more or less sends you to the local stockbroker or bank.
