I need some different appetizer recipes for a superbowl party?
I need some different recipes for a superbowl party...other than the typical wings and nachos and stuff....some good finger foods and appetizers. HELP
Answer: Bacon Wrapped Weiners
2 lbs Little Smokies sausages (we use Hillshire Farm)
1 lb bacon (real bacon, no turkey bacon or maple flavored)
2 cups light brown sugar
Line large baking sheet with foil (we don't always do this, but it's easier for cleanup). Cut bacon into thirds, resulting in several 3" strips. Wrap each weiner with bacon, line them loosely in the pan as you go. Cover with brown sugar, it'll seem like a lot of sugar, but it cooks down Bake 375 for 45 minutes. Broil at the end until top is crisped.
Sausage Cheese Balls
2 lbs regular ground sausage
1 1/2 cups all purpose baking mix
4 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1/2 cup finely chopped onion
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
Preheat oven to 375%. Mix all ingredients. Form into 1 inch balls. Bake 15 minutes on ungreased cookie sheet until golden brown. Makes about 6 dozen. Sausage cheese balls can be frozen uncooked.

Does anyone have any easy and tasty crockpot recipes for a superbowl party?
Not much time left. I am trying to avoid the usual pizza and wings theme. My friends deserve better than that. Thanks in advance. (n_n) V
Thanks for all the responses. My mind is made up.
Answer: half a crockpot full of your favorite chili, then add at least 1 3 pound chunk of velveeta cheese, more if you like things really cheesy. heat and stir occasionally till cheese is melted. Add chopped jalepeno peppers if you want. Serve over doritos or similar chips=Super Nachos. Lots of fresh veggies too can be dipped in it. Or.....a build your own poorboy set up. lay out platters of assorted coldcuts, cheeses, sliced onions, peppers, lettuces tomatoes pickles, anything that is good in a sandwich. Offer a few different bread spreads, like mayo, mustard, (reg and spicey) chuyneys, Miracle Whip, etc. Get buns or baguettes from favorite bakery and you have a feast. A pot of your fav chili to accompany this tops it off nicely.

SUPERBOWL RECIPES?
What are some awesome Superbowl recipes? Please and thank you!
Answer: Here are my favorite snack foods, etc.
Cream Cheese Cracker Spread:
Scallions, chopped black olives, cream cheese, cup grated cheese, dash garlic powder, dash onion powder, dash white pepper, dash salt. Blend together. shape into ball. serve with crackers. Optional: roll in chopped nuts.
Chicken Wings
We're all about easy! I buy the best sauce I can find for the flavor I want (terriaki, BBQ, etc.), then put the wings and the sauce in the crock pot until done (about 4-6 hours). If they're done sooner, I turn the crockpot to 'warm' and let them simmer. Yum!
This is the best and easiest dip recipe, and people always rave! I tell them it’s really hard to make (lol):
Cream Cheese Dip
2 large blocks of cream cheese
1 large jar Pace picante (medium)-use most of the jar
Soften cream cheese and mix with hand mixer until smooth. Add picante and mix with hand mixer. Leave in frig for a few hours to blend flavors. Serve with tortilla chips.
I know it seems too simple to be great, but it is!
Crab Dip is easy and very good.
1pkg Softened Cream Cheese
2 Tbsp Minced Onions
1/3 C. Bottled Chili Sauce
1 Can of Crab meat
Parsley Flakes to Garnish
Mix onion with cream cheese and spread on serving plate. Top with chili sauce. Sprinkle rinsed drained crabmeat on sauce & garnish with parsley flakes. Serve with Ritz crackers.
Takes about 5 minutes to put together .. and is always a hit!
This is also great!
Buffalo Chicken Dip
2 (5 ounce) cans chicken, drained
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, softened
1 cup ranch dressing
3/4 cup red hot sauce
shredded cheddar cheese (you decide the amount)
--Beat cream cheese, ranch dressing, and red hot sauce. Fold in shredded chicken. Spread mixture into pie plate sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Add cheddar to top and bake an additional 10-15 minutes. *Serve with fritos or tortilla chips*
SPINACH DIP
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, cooked & drained
2 sm. thin scallions, chopped fine
2 lg. eggs, hard cooked & chopped fine
1/3 c. mayonnaise
1/3 c. sour cream
2 scant tbsp. fresh lemon juice
1 tbsp. Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp. Tabasco sauce
Dip size Fritos or tortilla chips
Mix mayonnaise, sour cream, lemon juice, mustard and Tabasco in medium bowl until smooth. Stir in spinach, scallions and eggs. Cover tightly and chill several hours. Serve with dip-size Fritos or tortilla chips. Yield: 2 cups.
This is fun!
Beer Boil
2 pounds of large shrimp (don't shell them)
2-3 cans beer (any kind)
water
1 pound kielbasa sausage
crab (king crab is best)
shrimp and crab boil (in any supermarket)
Slice the kielbasa into serving pieces. Wash the shrimp in cold water.
In a large pot, bring to a boil the beer, shrimp boil, and enough water to cover shrimp, etc.
Add crab and sausage. Cook 5 minutes. Add shrimp and cook until shrimp turns pink. Dump into a big pot. Use your fingers!!! Serve with melted butter, Gold Dipt cocktail sauce, and spicy mustard. Add frozen corn with the shrimp, if you like corn.
Have fun!!

FAST HOMEMADE BROCCOLI CHEESE SOUP FOR
SUPER BOWL
1 can family size Cream of Chicken Soup
3 tablespoons grated onion
2 tablespoons butter
2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
3 cups milk
1 package fresh or frozen broccoli florets, steamed until very tender
You can do this from start to finish in just a few minutes, and it tastes TOTALLY homemade! Good enough for company! We serve in a bread bowl!
In a large pot, sauté onion in the butter. Over low heat: Add can of soup (undiluted) to pot and stir.
Add cheese and stir until thoroughly melted. Add milk and whisk until smooth. Add the broccoli and stir. Simmer until bubbly.
This is also even better using a package of mixed broccoli and cauliflower, steamed.
You may add two packages of broccoli if you like it really broccoli-y. I just buy the plastic bag of Mann's broccoli, poke a hole in it, and microwave the bag for 6 minutes to steam it perfectly! Then just dump it in!
After sautéing the onion, you can put all the ingredients into a Crock-Pot and cook, stirring occasionally, until bubbly.

So, Tuesday I told you all about my day of swearing (and a little crying) about my busted SD card. My nice hubbie bought me a brand new card that very night.
What are some good SUPERBOWL RECIPES?
Answer: Super Nachos
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 tsp. seasoned salt
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
2 cans (16 oz. each) refried beans
1 pkg.(1-1/4 oz.) taco seasoning mix
2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup sour cream
1 cup chunky taco sauce - mild, medium or hot
1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1 can (4 oz.) green chiles, sliced
optional - 1 cup guacamole and/or 1 cup sliced black olives
tortilla chips
Preparation -
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and onions. Drain well, then add the seasoned salt and cumin; stir and set aside. Combine the refried beans and taco seasoning mix; mix well. Add the Monterey Jack cheese and mix well. Spread the bean mixture in a shallow oblong or oval baking dish, about 10" x 15", or in a large round shallow baking dish. (Nachos will be baked and served in the same dish.) Cover with the ground beef/onion mixture. Spread the chunky taco sauce over the beef. Top with the Cheddar cheese. Scatter green chilies and black olives, if using, over the cheese.(At this point, this recipe may be made ahead and refrigerated until party time, but do not freeze.) Bake in a preheated oven, uncovered, at 400º for 20 to 25 minutes or until thoroughly heated through. Place the baking dish with the nachos in the center of a large tray, surrounded by a generous supply of tortilla chips. Serve with sour cream and/or guacamole on the side.
-----------------------------------------------------
Buffalo Chicken Wings
24 chicken wings, rinsed and patted dry
1/3 cup butter or margerine
2 to 3 T. bottled Cajun Style hot sauce
oil for deep frying
Preparation -
Split the chicken wings at the joints. Remove and discard the wing tips. Place the wings in a saucepan over low heat. Melt the butter or margerine in a saucepan over low heat. Add the hot sauce and stir until well mixed. (Start with 2 tablespoons and taste; 3 tablespoons makes a very hot sauce.) Pour the hot sauce over the wings, stirring to make sure the wings are coated. Let stand for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Heat the oil to 365º. Fry the wings for 5 to 6 minutes, or until crisp and golden. Drain on paper towels before serving.
---------------------------------------------------
Super Party Sandwiches
2 long loaves crusty French Bread (about 20" to 22" long, each)
sweet pepper and onion relish
Italian dressing
12 oz. thinly sliced tavern ham
12 oz. thinly sliced hard salami
8 oz. thinly sliced pepperoni
12 oz. thinly sliced provolone cheese
1 small jar olives
sandwich picks
Preparation -
About 1-1/2 hours before serving .... Slice the bread loaves lengthwise. Lightly brush the cut side of both the tops and the bottoms of the loaves with Italian dressing. Place slices of tavern ham, hard salami, and pepperoni on the bottom halves. Spread a generous layer of sweet pepper and onion relish over meats. Add slices of provolone. Cover with the top halves of bread. Tightly wrap each loaf in plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 1 hour. Cut the sandwiches diagonally into slices about 3" wide. For each sandwich slice, place an olive on a sandwich pick. Insert the picks with the olives into the cut sandwiches and arrange on a serving tray.

Beef & Cheddar Roll-Ups
1 pkg (8-oz.) cream cheese - regular, lite or fat-free - softened to room temperature
2 T. prepared horseradish
1 T. Dijon mustard
5 - 6" to 8" round flour tortillas
10 thin slices deli roast beef
4 oz. shredded cheddar cheese
Preparation -
Mix the cream cheese, horseradish and Dijon mustard together. Beat until smooth. Spread the tortillas with the cream cheese mixture, about 3 tablespoons on each tortilla. Lay 1 slice roast beef on each tortilla, over the cream cheese. Sprinkle the shedded cheddar over the roast beef. Lay 1 slice roast beef on top of the cheese. Roll up each tortilla tightly, jelly roll style. Wrap each one in plastic food wrap and chill in the refrigerator for about 6 hours or overnight. Unwrap and slice each tortilla roll into 6 - 1" thick slices. Makes 30 Beef & Cheddar Roll-Ups.
------------------------------------------------
Crescent Roll Chicken Pockets
6 oz. cream cheese, softened
4T. milk
2 T. butter, softened
4 cups diced cooked chicken
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
2 T. minced onion
1/2 tsp. salt
dash of black pepper
2 cans (8 oz. each) refrigerated crescent dinner rolls
2 T. butter, melted
Preparation -
Mix the cream cheese, milk, and softened butter together and beat until smooth. Add the diced chicken, chopped celery, minced onion, salt, and pepper. Mix well, then set aside Separate each can of the crescent dough into 4 rectangles. (Do not separate it into 8 triangles as you would for dinner rolls. Press the extra perforations together to seal.) Spoon about one half cup of the cream cheese/chicken mixture onto the center of each piece of dough. Fold the dough in half over the chicken. Pinch the edges of the dough together to seal. Place the filled pockets an ungreased cookie sheet. Brush top of the dough with the melted butter. Bake in a preheated oven at 350° for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 8 pockets.
-------------------------------------------------
Hearty Chili Con Carne
1 T. vegetable oil
1/2 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 cup finely grated carrots
2 lbs. lean ground beef
1 T. garlic powder
1/2 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
3 cans (16 oz.) dark red kidney beans
1 large can tomatoes
1 - 16 oz. can tomato sauce
1 tsp. sugar
2 T. taco sauce - mild, medium or hot - your preference
grated cheddar cheese (optional)
Preparation -
In a large skillet, saute the vegetables in oil until tender. Set aside. In a large, deep skillet or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef. Drain off the fat. Add the seasonings and stir to mix well. Add the sauteed vegetables, canned tomatoes and tomato sauce. Bring to a low boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. Stir in the kidney beans and simmer for about 15 more minutes. Optional - Top individual servings with grated cheddar.
-----------------------------------------
Hot Ham & Cheese Braid
1 can Pizza Crust
1/2 lb Ham - thin sliced from deli
1/2 onion - chopped
1 1/2 TBLSP prepared mustard
3 or 4 slices of swiss cheese
Roll pizza crust out on a cookie sheet. Slice in a fringelike pattern on both long sides of the dough, making slices every inch or so. Leave about 3 inches uncut in the middle of the dough. (Sorry - don't know how to explain this better!) These are the "fingers" of dough that will be braided together.
Lay the ham out on along the uncut middle of the dough.
Mix the chopped onion and mustard together and spread the mixture ontop of the ham.
Lay the swiss cheese ontop of the onion-mustard mixture.
Now, braid the pizza dough. Starting on the right side, pull the first "finger" of dough toward the center to cover the ham/cheese mixture, then, pull the first "finger" of the left side over the dough that you pulled from the right side. Continue folding over the dough from alternate sides until you have the braid complete.
Bake for 30 minutes - 350 degrees F. IF you need to, let it cook longer because I haven't used a written recipe for this for a years.
Serve while warm.
