How might the films Romeo Must Die and Cradle 2 the Grave improved if F. Gary Gray or Bruce Ratner directed?
Bruce Ratner layered the character of Lee and Carter together in some ways a lot smoother than Andrej Bartowiak did for DMX and Jet Li in Cradle 2 the Grave. I just think if Ratner had directed the two Jet Li films the interchange dialogue and the acting would have gone over smoother. I think Jet Li might have even been more expressive of himself onscreen particulalry with Aaliyah in Romeo Must Die. I think there might have also been love scenes between Li and Aaliyah had F. Gary Gray directed the flick. It would have had much greater ties to the play as far as the intensity of the romance and the drama going on.
Answer: Hard to say. Things can always get away from a director and he just finishes the film to be done with it

Best/Worst casting in the Harry Potter film series?
As part of "holiday homework" for Drama, I have to review the casting in a film or play, and come up with some alternatives for those I dont like. I eventually decided on Harry Potter, and came up with the following list of what I think are the best and worst cast Potter actors:
Best:
- Alan Rickman as Snape - perfect look and more than perfect drawl of a voice, no one can top him :)
- Maggie Smith as McGonogal - probably the best cast of all the actresses, she is just perfect for it in every way. Its no wonder JK had thought about killing McGonogal off if Smiths health started failing.
- Robbie Coltraine as Hagrid - perfect for the role, nuff said :)
- Rupert Grint as Ron - perhaps as he grew up he didnt quite fit the image as Ron, but he has the perfect mannerisms, the pent up frustration, that quiet loyalty without which Harry would have died twice every book, and the comic relief- which he was awsome at. Definatly the best actor out of the 3 leads.
- Evanna Lynch as Luna - has just the right dreamy-detatched, but also friendly and helpful nature.
- Helena Bonhamm-Carter as Bellatrix Lestrange - no one could have done such an insane and evil Bellatrix.
- Rhys Ifans as Mr. Lovegood - perfect match to Evanna Lynch.
Worst:
- Bonnie Wright as Ginny - fine when she was only a minor character, but she is just awful in the later films. No talent at all there, doesnt interact properly with the other characters.
- Michael Gambon as Dumbledore - IF Dumbledore had been written as a serious, slightly agressive and, kind of funn-less (?) character, he would have been fine. His acting was top-notch, and I think the main problem was in the writting and costume design, they both got rid of the fun and colourful nature or the character. Richard Harris looked more the part, but wasnt perfect either. My choice would have been Ian McKellen. He was perfect as Gandalf the Grey, who also fitted many of the wualities needed for a good Dumbledore. (He was offered the part in place of Gambon, but turned it down out of respect for Harris, who though McKellen was a rubbish actor).
- Bill Nighy as Rufus Scrimgeour - sorry, but he was just awful. All his acting in it was completely wooden and emotionless, and I cannot believe he was supposed to have been the rough and ready ex-Head Auror. I would have gone for someone more like Hugh Jackman (made to look slightly older lol).
Emma Watson as Hermione - I know this is going to raise a few eye-brows. In the first 3 films she was fine, but, its like, after the 3rd, she just completely lost interest in the part. The reliable, clever Hermione was gone in favour of... well... nothing much. Some of her acting was completely wooden and unbelievable, although that aspect redeemed itself somewhat in the battle of Hogwarts. It didnt help Watson that the script-writers , directors, and costume designers of the later films had no idea how to write for her, either.
Other actors I thought were good but could have been switched out for better are:
-Gary Oldman as Sirius Black - he was actually very good, but I think Richard Armitage could have been better. He can do the tortured, sad acting just as well as Oldman, but can also do the younger, happier spirit better.
-Palph Fiennes as Voldy - OK, he is brilliant in the role, I just think he went about it the wrong way, with that wheezy voice and false calm. He coul have done a much better version, perhaps like an evil-version of the Merlin his younger brother plays in Camelot.
Anyways, theyre my thoughts, my question is,
What about you?
Actually, yeah, I agree, Umbridge was excelent, but I dont think we saw enough of her to make the best/worst list. I think she as probably somewhere just under the best list.
Matthew as Nevile was excelent, yeah, forgot about him!
Oliver and James Phelps should have also been on my list, I totally forgot about them. Ive met them several times in real life, too, what with living in the same town as them, and they are exactly the same off-camera as on! :)
About Ralph, of course he had to follow the guidance of the director, but there was still a lot of room to go his own way with it. For example, Yates wasnt qoing to turn around and say "Sorry, Ralph, can you talk a bit more like you have a serious case of constepation, please?". Hed be more interested in how the lines were delivered, and where from.
For example, watch Camelot. Joseph and Ralph Fiennes are very similar in terms of acting style and capabilities. Imagine a Voldemort that acted and sounded like a darker side of Joesphs Merlin. It would have been PERFECT :)
Also, just to clarify, Oldman isnt on the worst list, I just thought there was another actor who could have been better.
Answer: Another bad actor was Robert Pattinson as Cedric. He really didn't capture the emotions right. He was similar to Ginny in my opinion.
I also though Filch was perfect! He's so funny and I've met him! (he's lovely really!)
I also loved Molly Weasley, I wish she was in it more...the perfect person in my opinion! Arthur was ok too but not amazing.

Who or what parties are responsible for the incident in former Presidents Jimmy Carters home town?
As former law enforcement at one of the highest levels of the military Special Operations. I am very grateful that Secret Service is on this case. And Id advise them to check all hate organizations whether the new Black Panther Party, The KKK, The Aryan Nation, The League of the South here in South Carolina and so on. And furthermore First Lady Obama is being attacked because somebody made or alluded that a monkey or something was made that was representative of our First Lady. So Secret Service be on your toes and stay on your toes. Just one more thing we even have a hate or scare racial incident under investigation here. It made national attention. In columbia sc someone or persons in red spray paint on our city hall building wrote NO NIGGER MAYOR DIE on one of the outside walls. They are saying this was a tactic to drive off the 2 African-American candidates for mayor one is a retired Army Lt. Colonel,Gary Myers Jr. the other Steve Benjamin is a prominent Attorney. The case is still under investigation. This I find so sad after so many years after the 1964 Civil Rights Bill was signed into law. What are your thoughts?
Answer: I think Carter did it.
In any case.. it is sad this happens..but they did it to Bush too and no one said a damn thing then did they?
In fact Bush was hung in effigy several times and you didn't open your mouth and say anything then either did you?
Why now..because of color? Why the hypocritical response.....
