I think its in starting pitching........ The pitching let the games in the NLCS go and the batters felt pressured to perform...... but thats one opinion...... what do you think?
Answer: They need to improve both pitching and hitting. The Phillies handled them pretty easy the past 2 seasons.Furcal hit .143 and Blake hit .105 for the NLCS. The Dodgers got out hit and out slugged by the Phillies. The Phillies had 6 doubles, 3 triples and 10 home runs in the Series to the Dodgers 3 doubles and 6 home runs. Most of the Dodgers HR's were solo, while the Phillies had men on. The Dodgers need a lot of help to compete with the Phillies.

Answer: When I hear 'Dodgers,' I still think 1955 in Brooklyn. I then think about 1947 and Jackie Robinson. Then I think about Kirk Gibson in whatever year it was he pumped his arms. Then I think of Mike Piazza. Lastly, I think about Alyssa Milano, a big Dodgers fan, and smile.

I want to get Dodgers tickets cheap and good seats plus dates when they play in LA in the Dodgers stadium.
Answer: Check Stub Hub and ebay. Usually on Stub Hub and ebay when the Dodgers play teams people barley care about, like the Astros or the Diamondbacks, or the Padres, the tickets are way below face value and if you buy a lot of tickets on Stub Hub their flat 10 dollar fee is actually a good deal cause that breaks down to 5 dollar fee for each ticket if you buy 2, or 2.50 each if you buy 4.
Ebay usually has the best deals for the really good seats, like Field Box or Lodge Box. 60 dollar seats can sometimes go for 5 dollars a ticket (they usually come in packs of 2). For Top Deck and outfield pavilion usually Stub Hub is better.
Don't do craigslist, most people there try to rip you off by selling it above face value and there's no secure way of delivery it like there is with ebay and Stub Hub. You might want to check craigslist free section everyday anyways, you might get lucky and find someone giving away their Dodgers tickets.

Who agrees that DODGERS and Yankees are greatest World Series rivalry?
The Dodgers and Yankees had meet many times in the World Series since Dodgers was in Brooklyn. Although the Dodgers do have another rivalry with Giants.
Before Giants and Dodgers moved to California, Yankees and Dodgers still have the rivalry in the World Series while they made to playoff.
This season, Dodgers hadnt play against the Yankees.
I know that Red Sox and Yankees are the strongest chief rivalry in the league and the history.
Im very curious about the World Series Rivalry, not the interleague rivalry; the interleague play began in 1990s.

Answer: I have to agree that the rivalry between the Yankee and Dodgers is the greatest and at one time they both were of course in New York as the Dodgers were in Brooklyn. Many great teams and players from both teams participated in these games as well with many spectacular moments like Larsens perfect game in the 56 series, Podres beating the Yankees in game 7 of the 55 series, Amoros spectacular game saving catch, Reggie Jacksons 3 homers in one game etc. Those were classics without a doubt.

What kind of management have Joe done to make DODGERS a different team?
1. Did he trust and use a lot of young talents?
2. Did he reconcile the difference among youngsters and veterans?
3. Did he use his starters well?
4. Did he use his bullpens well?
5. Has he managed his rosters well?
6. Can he lead Dodgers to playoffs without Manny?
7. What other things has he done to convince baseball fans (esp Yankees and Dodgers fans) that its NOT just his luck to take Dodgers to where they are right now?

Answer: 1) I think the biggest lineup change that has revitalized the Dodgers is finally giving Ethier full-time over Pierre and Jones. Ethier has instantly developed into a great hitter, esp. in front of/behind Manny. DeWitt has also been solid and Bills has finally recahed the ace mold. Broxton seems to have gotten his closer affinity in September as well.
2) Ehh...not too sure about this. Kent hasn't been to much of a dick and Manny's been real nice w/ every1...I guess he's done pretty well here.
3) Yeah pretty good...Penny is the only big bust but all the other starters have stepped it up (well, maybe not Maddux) but he's done a good job here as well.
4) I think this has been his best effort, right here. He brought Cory Wade out of nowhere (I'm a die-hard dodger fan and I don't think i'd heard of him before this season) to be a dominant middle releiver and Beimel plus Kuo have been absolutely great.
5) I wish he hadn't given as many at-bats as he did to Jones and Pierre but it is hard to bench players who are making that much $$$
6) I think he would have even tho it would have been much closer and the Dodgers would probably be down 0-2 now instead of up 2-0....remember the D'backs crumpled as well.
7) I think that w/o injuries the Dodgers would have run away w/ the divison in early September. i'm not sure exactly what the question here is but i guess his attitude has been exemplary and he's never acted like a manager who's just happy to be there, etc etc,
I've never considered Torre a brilliant strategist or w/e and his biggest strength lies in how he treats the clubhouse and the players, and being a relaxed "people's person"...I thinkt his is what helped the Dodgers avoid another September collapse like last year w/ Grady little

When was the last time these two team were in the same hotel on the road? Im pretty sure some the Dodgers will be in tonights Lakers game witnessing a victory.

Who should the DODGERS try to pick up in free agency?
With the second half of the baseball season in full swing now, it looks the Dodgers are starting to flounder. The free agency period in baseball is soon to come to an end. I think the one thing the Dodgers needed and continue to need is a starting, ace pitcher. They cant seem to find a pitcher to complete a game. Now with Cliff Lee gone who else is out there? Or should the Dodgers focus there attention to other positions on the team?
Answer: the Dodgers need pitching. ANY KIND of pitching would be helpful but we need a 5th starter. forget about an ace right now. we need anyone. maybe a guy like Ben Sheets. we don't even have a 5th starter so we just need to fill that hole. we have Kershaw and Padilla so we aren't in total need of an ace....just a well established starter. if we try to get an ace we will have to give up guys like kemp and loney. the other thing is we need a middle relief pitcher. our bullpen is a mess and we need another one. the last thing we need is offense. our offense is 100% fine. just pitching pitching pitching! come on Ned get it through your cheap head!!!

Answer: way too much.
he's not worth it. everyone says that Dodgers need an ace for the playoffs, but if u actually think about it, halladay has pitched exactly 0 innings in the post season.
for 2nd base i expect old uncle ned to fukk it up and pay some old veteran that has that veteran presence that only veterans have to take the job.
the bench dont really matter. its already pretty good with pierre and hopefully ausmus re signs and hopefully belly comes back as a super sub but not as a starter.
starting pitching- u cant make ur pitching staff better by subtracting( aka dont trade billz and kershaw for halladay) . hopefully wolf comes back for a one year deal and hopefully they get a low risk high reward guy like sheets or bedard. and give a young guy like elbert or hager a shot for the #5 starter
