How was MAGIC JOHNSONs defense back in the day?
Ive watched a lot of clips of Magic johnson and he is truly amazing, just a fantastic player overall. But recently ive read that magic was a pretty bad defender, as smaller and quick guards easily passed through him and if he defended big men in the post, he got pounded badly. It also said that he was usually put to guard the worst offensive player on each team to hide this fact. So is it true that his defense wasnt that good or did what i read was false?

I am no Kobe fan but anytime Kobe loses in the Finals or even loses a playoff game, I hear fans and analyst all over his case about how he choked or he should have could have done this and that. Magic johnson lost in the Nba Finals a lot but how come no one uses that against him and people only use Kobes final loses against him?
Answer: Magic won 5 and lost 4.
But I agree with you. Once you win a championship the choker label is removed forever. Just like Peyton Manning and John Elway were labeled chokers until they finally won a SB.

Answer: Probably a basketball groupie or self employed model (hooker). Magic pulled no punches in his book years ago, he talked about how him and Worthy would call self employed models as soon as they would go on road trip. In fact if you recall James got arrested for calling an escort service when they had just arrived in Texas and the agency had just been raided by the police. The police made the contact with him and went to the hotel and arrested him for pandering. The Lakers (Chick Hearn) were truthful about it because they had to explain why he made the trip but didn't start and wasn't on the bench at the beginning of the game.....James showed up sometime during the game and had a hell of a performance.

Why doesnt people think MAGIC JOHNSON is better then Micheal Jordan?
Magic johnson had it all, he could play almost any position with the exception of center. But still he is not given the credit that Micheal Jordan recieves. Is this because he was diagnosed with the HIV virus?
Answer: If you had to start a team, who would you start it with? I would start it with Magic. He was at least 4-6 inches taller than the guy who was supposed to guard him, causing mismatches all over the floor. He had a floor presence no one has ever had before and no one has had since. He saw the floor better than anyone else. He had that infectious smile that made everyone love him and he had basketball moves that no one else can match -- and he did them on a regular basis. His no-look passes are something of legend.
Because he was so athletic and versatile, he was able to play all 5 positions in one game, game 6, 1980 NBA finals. He revolutionized the point guard position to the point where it hasn't been duplicated yet. We are still waiting for the next Magic in any magnitude while "The Next Jordan" comparisons happen with every high scoring rookie.

Answer: Magic johnson would own, and I disagree with you, but I think he would be the best player in the NBA because in the era he played in, more physical defense was allowed, and Magic would thrive in such an era of what we have in the NBA as of now.
Larry Bid would probably fall in the bottom half of the Top 10, but that's just me.
