Im writing a paper for school about teens with Stuttering problems. Just wanted to know how someone who has a stutter feels while they are Stuttering or just about their life in general because they stutter. Answer: back when i was at school....and i stuttered embarrassed ashamed didn't like talking out loud refused to do speech's I had a small group of friends, and they were the ones i could count on, to help me out when i got stuck. i wouldn't say a different life, sometimes alot of teens grow out of the stutter, but for the ones who don't, they take a different pathway to life... also, boyfriends, i've had a few short relationships, short like 3 months, and i've had 1 serious one and i'm currently in a relationship with a awesome man, who isn't fazed by my Stuttering, he makes gentle jokes about it, and makes it funny

Answer: OMFG same here, maybe its because english was the 4th language I learned as a 5 year old prick. Im not sure how to deal with it, but it happens to me as well. Im 21 now and though my grasp of this tongue and its vocabulary is finessed, sometimes i cant speak properly because the proper words elude me. Russian was my first tongue, then dutch, then german, then bulgarian and then english. O_o I can think in english so, I know I have this tongue covered. Why do I stutter sometimes? God knows.

How to fix my computer from lagging and video/sound from lagging and STUTTERING?

First, when I turn on my computer the welcome sound is distorted and Stuttering. My computer gets really so and laggy especially when I watch videos or listen to music. It stutters and lags. I think its a hardware problem but im not sure. I have already cleaned out temporary internet files and scanned my computer for viruses. Any suggestions? I have Windows 7 if that helps I have scanned my computer with Norton and Malwarebytes and it did not find anything
Answer: Try using a different set of speakers. (pretty easy test) If the problem still exists, try a different sound card. (cheap to replace). Adding more RAM (memory sticks inside) could help. If you are listening to music online, make sure you aren't downloading anything else while you are doing it, and that other people aren't downloading if there are multiple computers hooked up to the internet. Don't jump right to the "IT"S A VIRUS" answer that is popular with people that don't even know what a virus is. If it was a virus, your hard drive would be full. All a virus does is replicate itself to take up disk space. Period.. that is it, nothing else. If you really really really want to be sure you don't have MALWARE.. (trojan, key logger, spyware, worm) also run CCleaner. Between your antivirus, malwarebytes and ccleaner, those will catch pretty much anything that could be infecting your computer, if they say your computer is clean, it IS CLEAN. Do a disk defrag, take your music and video files off your pc and put them on dvds. A really simple way to look at this is.. if you want a Coke, is it faster to go to the refrigerator and get one, or walk to the supermarket, search through all the aisles, find Coke, then bring it home and drink it? A hard drive is quite similar, the shorter the distance it has to go to look for the info you need, the faster it is. After you take the junk and stuff off the disk, defragment it. (compacts the files and free space so the computer doesn't have to go looking for bits and pieces of files all over the place) I've listed these in the order you should check, first to last. Always troubleshoot the easiest and cheapest solutions first. That way, you don't spend $75 or so to have a non-existant virus removed, when it was just a piece of debris inside your speaker case, vibrating against the case and the actual speaker. BTW, if you play your music loud, this can cause that diaphragm to tear or stretch, which of course will distort the sound.

How come I never stutter when I think or read inside my mind, and I even read much faster than other people when not reading aloud, but always have problems with Stuttering when I talk to people? By people I mean either another an individual or a group of people(which is really terrible). Ive given it a lot of thought and I really cant seem to understand why! Any ideas? Yes MFH! I can only dream of being social and talk to people and my friends in a normal way.
Answer: It's probably because you over think what you are going to say. You may be nervous around people, so when you talk you want to make sure it's something clever and so you over think, which could be the reason for your stutter. You might want to seek help from a speech therapist. I've known a couple people that have overcome their speech impediment after sessions with a therapist, but I also know a person that hasn't been helped by a therapist. However, it's worth a shot.

I stutter from anxiety, how can I improve and reduce my STUTTERING?

I used to stutter a lot more, but now, its only occasional. Sometimes Ill be on the phone with my friends and ill stutter a couple times, but I do speak fast too without realizing. Its probably the worst when I have to introduce myself, or when Im forced into a situation where I need to say words that I know I stutter on. My Stuttering has taken over my life! Im afraid to meet new people and talk in public because of my stutter. Speech therapy has not helped. I tend to stutter more with my dad and with strangers than others such as my friends.
Answer: Read out loud and sing your favorite songs. Singing improves fluency because you get familiar with words and you get confident after repeating words or phrases after a while. Reading improves your pace and the faster you read, the less you will stutter. Poetry is one of the easiest things to begin with. May poems are short and many have rhythm. Books or articles can be boring, unless you love to read. I think you should also do breathing exercises to stay calmed when talking to people. Also, think about what you want to say before you speak and try to keep it as short and to the point as possible. That should make you less self-conscious from now on.

The audio in in my Cubase SE has recently started Stuttering? In VST performance the hard disk reading seems to increase through the song until it starts Stuttering. Ive used a RAM checker and that seems fine. Diagnostics on the hard drive seem okay too. Thanks.
Answer: VST is a slow technology. If you throw too much VST activity at Cubase, it really taxes the CPU and can cause Stuttering. The Stuttering happens because at one given point in time, their is not enough CPU to produce the audio.

What do you think when you hear someone STUTTERING?

If you ask someone a question and they start to stutter, how do you feel and what do you think about them? Do you know what Stuttering is (without searching online) because a lot of people are ignorant about it.
Answer: I feel no different talking with someone who stutters or lisps than I do talking with anyone. If someone starts to stutter, I slow my own speech rate and wait patiently for them to finish speaking. I definitely know about Stuttering as it runs in my family.

How do I let my STUTTERING problem not affect my social life and career?

Ive stuttered off & on ever since I was a kid. Im a pretty successful, good looking guy, and will be starting at a dream firm after my MBA soon. But in spite of these things, I dont feel comfortable about myself because of my problem. Im generally a confident guy and have no problem raising my hand and talking in class -or- talking to people, but sometimes, when I can feel a stutter coming on, I refrain from these things. I get the feeling that people confuse my handicap for a lack of confidence and think Im being aloof. The truth is I really ENJOY being around people, but I dont want to get embarrased. The Stuttering is affecting my social/dating life and will likely be an obstacle to advance in the fast paced corporate world where I will have to make presentations in front of groups shortly. I try to be positive about all this, but Im not happy with myself. This discontent likely comes through when Im talking to people (girls in particular). What should I do?
Answer: Go to The Stuttering Foundation of America's web site at www.Stutteringhelp.org and look at the "brochures for all ages" section. They have tips for talking on the telephone and a brochure for employers if you ever need it. Their book "Self Therapy for the Stutterer" helped several of my uncles and cousins who couldn't afford speech therapy. They also have a page of referrals to speech specialists if you want to try that. One of my uncles could afford a therapist and is the most fluent. You will do well if you can control the times that you stutter. You have described yourself as someone who would most likely do well at working on the speech exercises on your own and benefitting from them. Don't let your speech deter you from socializing or feeling good about yourself. Take Eleanor Roosevelt's view - "Nobody can make you feel inferior without your consent."

I normally stutter at the beginning of my sentences. Words that begin with W, D, L, and C are the words that I normally stutter. Stuttering is the reason why I am so quiet at school because I dont want to look like an idiot or retard. In my opinion, If I want to get a good job, I need to get rid of my Stuttering problem. i really need help. ive been Stuttering for as long as i can remember. (im 17) but the thing is that it goes and comes. its not very noticible, but i have trouble saying words that start with t, d, p and c. i had stopped during the summer but it started up again. can i have some techniques which can help me? its really embarrasing and id really like to to clear up. im looking for serious answers PLEASE!
Answer: Hi, I know exactly how you feel, I stutter myself, I am 22 and in my senior year in college. There is no cure for Stuttering, many people say its a speech problem and others say some of it has to do with physcilogical. There are techniques to help, I have gone to therapy for several years, it helps for many people, but you have to continue to practice the techniques. You will become comfortable with them and eventually it becomes a natural habit. If you search the internet there are many websites that can help with techniques. Also, a speech therapist in the area would help or at school which would most likely be free of charge through school. Just be confident, be yourself, let the speaking come with practice, don't let a few Stuttering moments hear and there let you down. Those are no big deal just move on and remember the positive.
