Is it legitimate to worry about TIM LINCECUM for opening day due to his problems this late in spring training?
Tim lincecum has been less than steller in his past few spring starts. Should Giants fans be worried that he will not perform well on opening day this coming Tuesday? I myself am I Giants fan attending opening day and I am hoping for the best for Timmy!
Answer: I wouldn't worry just yet. Time will tell if that arm holds up, but don't put too much stock in spring training. Spring training is all about getting your rhythm for pitchers. The games don't count so you really don't care if you get hit. You work on what you want to work on. Only think you have to worry about with your "Timmy" as you say is that he has staying power, and doesn't end up like say a Justin Verlander who looks to have thrown his arm out young. Time will tell, but preseason is practice. No need to worry.

Tim lincecum has a tiny frame for a power pitcher yet manages to get it done. Do you guys think he is a risk of getting injured next year?
I am debating whether to trade Teixeira for him straight up, as my 5 keepers thus far are all batters in my my 14 team head to head category league.
Answer: I dont think so. lincecum might not be as good though. i think he wouldnt be better than teixeira next year because he probably had a really good (maybe lucky) last year. I would think he gets a winning record but he might be 12-5, which is good. I think mark will get lots of RBIs with the offense the yankees have. For now till the allstar break, i would say keep teixeira.

How good would the Cubs rotation be with TIM LINCECUM?
The Cubs drafted Tim lincecum out of High School. They drafted him again after his sophomore year of college. He was then drafted by the Giants after his senior year of college. If he had decided to go to the Cubs organization after being draftedby them for the second time how sick would the Cubs rotation be : Zambrano, Harden, Lincecum, Dempster, Lilly.
I know its woulda shoulda coulda, but its nice to think about those things from time to time.
Answer: Let's take kind of a guess. If Lincecum had come out after High School, and been 4 years ahead of his career, he very possibly would have made his Cubs debut while Dusty "Keep the starting pitcher out there till his arm falls off" Baker was managing. Did wonders for Prior and Wood didn't he? He may have just ended up like Prior, spending most of his time either recovering form a DL stint or working on getting back to the DL again.
But, assuming that he would be the pitcher he is now, and that the Cubs would have the rotation they have now, with Lincecum in place of, maybe Marshall or Marquis (I agree with the person above who says that maybe they wouldn't have gone out and gotten Dempster, Lilly, etc., and maybe not Harden ) they would have about a 15 game lead, would clinch in early September, and waltz through the playoffs. Or at least would seem to have the talent to do it.

He won the 2008 Cy Young Award, and his numbers this season are actually better. Lincecum has a better ERA, more complete games, more shutouts, allowed less hits and walks. The only stat he did not improve on is his win / loss total (which is not his fault).

Personally, I think Adam Wainwright or Chris Carpenter should get it.
Answer: No. Carpenter has a lower ERA and more Wins. Also, both Carpenter and Lincecum have virtually equal run support totals.

Is leading NL Cy Young candidate Roy Halladay really that much better than Giants ace TIM LINCECUM?
They both have the same ERA (2.53), Lincecum has more strikeouts and has held opponents to a lower batting average. Tim lincecum does have 10 losses but he also has the 5th lowest run support in the major leagues.
