Answer: OCU is well rated as a private school. $45,000 is a good wage in Oklahoma City, well above average. Weatherwise- we had our worst summer in history, extremely hot, but it has suddenly cooled down. Our weather is a lot of extremes, hot, cold, windy, rainy, sunny, cool. But overall fairly good when we aren't in the middle of a massive heat wave like this summer. Housing is cheaper in OKC than most other cities in the US, and getting around town is easy and fast.

How is the weather in Stillwater Oklahoma in general everyday conditions?

I am thinking about going to Oklahoma State University next year, and I am curious to know how the weather usually acts. I know Oklahoma is part of "tornado alley". I can remember when that horrible tornado hit Oklahoma in 1999, and again just curious about severe weather there.
Answer: Our weather is unpredictable. It's 66 right now. We have all four seasons. But it doesn't get extremely cold in the winter. Maybe in the teens for a few days. Snow usually melts the next day. Summers are hot and muggy. They saying around here is if you don't like the weather just stick around a while and it will change. Tornadoes occur in the spring and sometimes in the fall. I wouldn't worry too much about them. There are always shelters and I've live here 30 years and have gone unscathed.

How to pack for colder weather? (Oklahoma trip)?

Im taking a plane trip to central Oklahoma in the second week of December. This is going to sound stupid, but Ive never travelled anywhere colder...I was born and raised in Florida.It gets cold here, but right now Its all flip flops and tanks. Temps are expected to be low 29 deg F, high 40 degrees. What clothes are actually necessary for this type of weather? And is there some kinda trick to getting jackets into my small suitcase? Thanks
Answer: I live in Canada and right now it's about -15 :( but bring like two pairs of mitts (because often one pair might get wet and need to dry) scarf, toque, jacket, boots, sweaters. And usually when I bring my jackets with me I can fit them in my suitcase but there is this thing you can buy when you but your jackets in a plastic bag and there is this machine that sucks all the air out so it becomes really easy to pack.. but I'm not sure where to get one I saw it on T.V. :P hope this helps

I am so tired of NO SUNSHINE. Everyday it is dark and dreary. It has been cold or rainy for the last ten months. HELP!!! I need sunshine. Anyone else feel the same about this Oklahoma weather?
Answer: Yeah, me too! Oklahoma weather has always been crazy. It's been raining where I'm at for the last week and I'm ready for some sunshine. Just give it a couple of months, then we will be living in saunas with 100 degrees outside and humidity.

Do Saint Bernards, Great Danes, or Newfoundlands handle OKLAHOMA WEATHER better?

I am wanting to get one of these dogs (it will be an outside dog) and it will have to be able to hold up while its outside. Can either of these dogs put up with 100* or snow??? Other suggestions for good outside dogs for this climate will be appreciated much! Thx.:)
Answer: All dogs are pack animals. They need to be part of their family and not dumped in the back yard to be well adjusted pets. Great Danes...just b/c they're large doesn't mean they are equipped for brutal winter weather. St. Bernards or Newfies would cook in high temps with their coats, intended for cold weather purposes.
