Answer: Unbaked? why make it before you're ready to bake it? Anyway - it should be stored in a bowl with a tight fitting lid - for 4 or 5 days. As long as you didn't add any pineapple to the batter. 2 or 3 days if you did (because of the acidity of the pineapple). When you're ready to bake it, let it come to room temperature before putting it in the pan. Hope it turns out okay.

Answer: Duncan Hines sells a Pineapple upside down cake mix that has everything already in it. Or Pinapple Upside Down Cake 1 (10 ounce) jar maraschino cherries, drained 1/4 cup butter 1/2 cup packed brown sugar 1/2 cup flaked coconut 1 (8 ounce) can sliced pineapple, drained with juice reserved 1 (8 ounce) can crushed pineapple, drained with juice reserved 1 (18.25 ounce) package yellow cake mix Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Butter two 9 inch round cake pans. Sprinkle the bottom of each pan with 1/4 cup of brown sugar. In one of the pans, sprinkle coconut over the brown sugar. Lay pineapple rings in a single layer on top of coconut. Place a cherry in the center of each ring. In the other pan, spread the drained crushed pineapple. Mix the cake as directed on package, but substitute reserved pineapple juice in place of water. Divide batter between the 2 pans. Remember which pan has the pineapple rings in it. Bake for 40 to 50 minutes in the preheated oven, or until a toothpick inserted into cake comes out clean. Cool in pans for 20 minutes. While the bottoms of the cake pans are still warm to the touch, invert the layer with the crushed pineapple out onto a serving dish, then gently invert the layer with the pineapple rings on top of it for a dazzling two layer Pineapple upside down cake. nfd♥

Answer: You can make a very good cake with canned pineapple and cake mix. That's what I do. Drain the pineapple very good , saving the juice. Mix the cake mix according to directions on box except use the pineapple juice instead of water to mix it. Put soft butter into the pan you're going to use. sprean it over the sides and bottom until coated good. Then pur lots of brown sugar on to the sides and bottom of pan. Use your hand, pat it down into the butter. Put your pineapple over the brown sugar. Pour your cake mix in and smooth evenly over the pan. Bake in 375 degree oven until brown on top and well done. Take from the oven and turn upside down onto a plate, You have your delicious pineapple cake.

I know that sounds silly but every recipe I have come across says to just put it in the skillet and bake it but Id prefer to use one of my cake pans instead. Has anyone else used a regular cake pan? Does it turn out as good as if you use a skillet? Ive made TONS of cakes but never a Pineapple upside down cake so Im pretty clueless. Please, no rude comments, theyre not needed here. Thanks.
Answer: Yes, you can. I've never used a skillet. I use a 9X13 pan, but remember to turn it out while still warm, or it will stick. Hold smething larger than the pan under it while turning it out. I use a cutting board for this, works fine. I slice it up when cool and put in a 9x13 tupperware pan with cover. I love pineapple cake. Here is a cobbler recipe you might enjoy also. PINEAPPLE COBBLER: THE COBBLER IS SIMILAR TO A CAKE, BUT CALLED COBBLER. I USE DIFFERENT FRUIT TOO, LIKE, SLICED PEACHES, APPLE PIE FILLING, CHERRY PIE FILLING, AND THE CRUST IS CHEWY WITH THE PINEAPPLE COBBLER, THE BROWN SUGAR GETS CHEWY. I LOVE THAT. THE BEST PART. Answer: #10133 LOW-FAT Pineapple upside down cake Ingredients **************** 1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple in juice, undrained 2 tablespoons margarine, melted, divided 1/2 cup firmly packed light brown sugar 6 whole maraschino cherries 1-1/2 cups all-purpose flour 2 tablespoons baking powder 1/4 teaspoon salt 1 cup granulated sugar 1/2 cup apple sauce 1 whole egg 3 egg whites, beaten until stiff Procedure *************** Preheat oven to 375F. Drain pineapple, reserve juice. Spray sides of 8 inch square baking pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spread 1 tablespoon melted margarine evenly in bottom of prepared pan. Sprinkle with brown sugar; top with pineapple. Slice cherries in half. Arrange cherries, cut side up, so that when cake is cut, each piece will have cherry half in center. In small bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt. In large bowl, combine granulated sugar, apple sauce, whole egg, remaining 1 tablespoon melted margarine and reserved pineapple juice. Add flour mixture to apple sauce mixture; stir until well blended. Fold in egg whites. Gently pour batter over fruit, spreading evenly. Bake 35 to 40 minutes or until lightly browned. Cool on wire rack 10 minutes. Invert cake onto serving plate. Serve warm or cool completely. Cut into 12 pieces. Makes 12 servings.

Answer: Do you happen to have any pancake syrup that you can use to add to the regular sugar and butter? Also, you don't have to use cherries. I have used fruit cocktail, or those little fruit cups. Just don't forget to add the juice from the fruit instead of water in the cake batter.

Answer: Of course you can! I always use the juice from the canned fruits instead of water - it won't overpower. Probably best to use unsweetened pineapple if you can get it - use same amount as is called for water. No problem.

Im wanting a Pineapple upside down cake but Im thinking of making it in a bunt pan. Ive never tried it and wondered if anyone else had done it with positive results. HELP!!! lol
Answer: I always make my Pineapple upside down cake in an 8x8 pan, but...bundt pans bake cake more evenly (with the center hollow), so I'd say I'd do it if I didn't have my trusty pan. One thing though...do make sure to grease where the pineapple will be! I can't suggest a time, but do it at 325 degrees until a toothpick inserted in the cake part comes out clean. Good luck, dear...this is innovative.
